  1. We can only hope. They are having problems now and it is sooo hard to encourage her to run from him as fast as she can. We went through this with her/them a year a go and I did speak my mind which lead to problems and in the end she went back to him. This time, I'm keeping a check on her to make sure she is ok. But I"m keeping my opinions to myself. We would offer her to come live with us, but she knows that living with us means she has to get her GED and she doesn't want any part of that, thus she does not even ask. Sorry for the hijack.
  2. This sounds like my step daughter's husband. He has 4 that he claims and doesn't pay child support on but has told us that he has at least 9 total. If and when he works, he gets paid under the table so that no one can trace his money. Thankfully, my step daughter has not had any kids with him yet.
  3. Hiram does not have many officers. They have actually brought in support from other areas to help with this. We passed the police dept earlier yesterday evening and there were several cars and even the helicopter was from another city/county. I for one am Very thankful for them. They keep my family safe in the historic area(we feel VERY safe in our home and my daughter's school) and have managed to teach my teenage son a lesson about obeying the speed limit signs.
  4. I have nothing planned for tomorrow. I hope that my family has other plans so that I don't sit here and cry over missing my own Mom. This is my 4th Mother's Day since she passed and it is still a hard day for me. I'm Very thankful for my own kids and I do know that my Mom is looking down from Heaven and smiling at all of the craziness in my home.
  5. We use Child Neurology, specifically Dr. Shub. Dr. Shub is an ADHD specialist. There are several drs in the practice. You can google them or look them up on whitepages.com (Child Neurology Atlanta, GA) Have you asked if they would put you on a list to call if they have any cancellations? If they won't do that, then make the appt can call back once a week to see if they have had any cancellations. I wish you the best.
  6. Wher e is the Mirror Lake Area?
  7. We've bitten the bullet. It is killing me, but getting older (as a female) and the heat just do not go along. I do my best to turn it off at night and enjoy the coolness of the night.
  8. Sounds good to me.Message me as it gets closer and we'll work something out. It will one VERY early rise and shine that day. Where will your son go for basic training? I've already told DH to by stock in Kleenex for me and soon to be 1st grader. After 18.5 years, I don't remember life without DS around and soon to be 1st grader has Never known life without him. How is your son handling things? Mine is excited but getting scared to death at the same time. He is realizing that his life is about to change Forever.
  9. My son graduates May 25 from HHS. We are throwing him a graduation party the Sunday afterward. . He leaves for Navy bootcamp July 2.
  10. Does Skyline pump septic tanks? We are thinking it is time to have our's done.
  11. Meatloaf, real cream potatoes, and some other veggie.
  12. There is no way I could function without the internet or my cell phone.
  13. I heard it was a Everything is $5 store. That is what one of the people at the Party Store next door told me.
  14. I have been wondering the same thing. The Parks and Rec have had one at White Oak for the last several years and I have not seen anything about it this year....unless I missed it, which is likely.
  15. I had a bassinet with my 18 year old son, but I LOVED the Pack n play with my 5 yr old daughter. The Pack n play was much more mobile and allowed us to take her bed with us where ever we went, including camping
  16. We were told that we could become a member because of our Son being in the Navy. We are currently with Liberty Mutual for everything, but I think I'm going to start shopping around and USAA will be one of my first stops.
  17. Congrats to you Momma and Wade!!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping: Just think, one of these days we'll all be able to say that we knew Wade Lowman when he was just starting out
  18. I hate to really upset you but even after your wife goes through "the change", expect her to still PMS. My hubby informed that even after a year and a half after my plumbing was removed, I still PMS. Our daughter is almost 6....God help us ALL her time starts. I honestly think our son is the smartest one of all for joining the Navy and jumping the home ship.
  19. I was just discussing this with my dad and hubby last night. I for one, who LOVES the warmer temps, would like to see a decent cold snap to kill off the bugs and such. If we don't get some kind of cold temps, we are going to be hating things this summer with the bugs and mosquitoes. I don't think we are out of the woods by a long shot. This is GA after all.
  20. Here is my point...As a single mom to a boy, I had male family members and friends that taught my son how to do "male things" such as stand up and pee. My bio dad was a single parent to my little sister (her mom was not in the picture during her teenage years) and he had me, as well as other female friends and family members, that taught my little sister how to do "female things" that he was unable to teach her. Do you not think that gay/lesbian couples are in the same situations? When the rubber hits the pavement, what is most important is that the child/children is/ are in a stable,
  21. What part of the county do you live in?
  22. I agree that a child needs two loving parents in the home if at all possible. I stayed my 1st marriage 4 years longer than I should have, trying to make it work. My husband step parent adopted my son soon after he turned 7 years old...my ex offered rights if that tells you anything. 12 years later, my little boy is headed for Navy boot camp July 2 to be a Navy Nuke. Apparently, I and my husband did something pretty decent. My 5 year old DD is a two parent child through and through. She is a child that needs both my and her daddy. Thankfully, we have no intentions of making her a single paren
  23. You are a good person for doing this and the person that lost his needs to think their higher power tonight for you. You could have wiped them out.
