  1. Me too! And that statement is the truth - they do watch those cameras and "patrol" the store at times - and you never know who they are or what they look like. I was always finding tags in pockets and in the dressing rooms. I once went to pick up a stack of clothes after some teenagers had been in the dressing room and they were covered in urine! I couldn't believe they didn't even have the decency to go to the restroom. I once overheard a mother tell her daugther and friends to "just throw them on the floor - that's what the employees are here for"..... It never ceases to amaze me at
  2. You are right Freebird that the Oct accident had no bearing on the patrolling. I was just saying that there was a post on here regarding the accident and that there is now a cross and flowers up. That was a really bad accident! The vehicle looked just like our son-in-law's - right down to the camo GA tag on the front. My DH was in a complete panic until he got in touch with us to confirm that the SIL was OK. Actually, my DD was stopped by the GSP on DBR at HH church about a week ago for speeding. I think they should patrol it more often.
  3. There was a post on here about an accident in front of Silvercrest Lakes - my DH said a cross and flowers have now been placed across from the sub. I'm pretty sure the driver/occupants of that accident were airlifted but not sure if it was a DUI. Maybe one of the mods could locate the post for you.
  4. How true! I received a package titled "All About......". It was something like you are talking about - a package of questions that were meant to be filled in with her answers, memories, etc. Unfortunately, we received it too late and she was not able to provide answers to those questions. I think, however that I am going to "copy" the package, make the necessary changes and try to complete it for my children and grandson.
  5. WOW - what an awesome outlook! Prayers said for your friend and all of her needs.
  6. I went to the Cartersville office and was in and out within an hour. I did have a problem at first but it had something to do with my severance package from work. I had to go back into the office and the lady "released" my payments that had been "on hold" and I have never had any issues since that time. I wonder if you could go to the Cartersville office even though you originally went to Marietta? My Son-in-law went to Marietta and the line was so long he was told that there was no way he would even get in the door that day and to come back and try the next day. If not, hopefully
  7. WOW beautiful family and gorgeous baby! Congratulations!
  8. LR, I just knew you would think to put out a post like this one! Since losing my Mom this past summer, every day is still difficult - some days are better than others and sometimes, I just don't think I could get out of bed if my Grandson didn't force me to feed him and change his diapers... Yesterday was my Mom's birthday - she would have been 66yrs old. It was a very difficult day for all of us but we managed to get through it. Tomorrow is going to be another difficult day and Christmas is going to be even worse. My Mom loved the holidays and always went above and beyond to make them
  9. I bought my Honeysuckle turkey at Wally World last night - showed them the FL sale ad and they matched the price of $0.37/lb. It took a minute as the cashier wasn't exactly sure if she could match it or if she should. She finally caught someone else and asked and they told her absolutely since I had the sale paper with me.
  10. Is that the new church that is meeting behind the A&R Store or is it the big brick church up on the hill on the right just before Dabbs Bridge Road? We need to find a new church home out in the Burnt Hickory area; have heard some really good things about Hickory Heights church but haven't visited there in a while.
  11. Nope - I hit a deer on Nebo road late one night and after the GSP left, I went straight to West Ga Deer Cooler to have it processed. After I got away from the Paulding County redneck who was chasing me down the road trying to get the deer away from me! I didn't even know the man who stopped to help me but sure was glad he was there - he and I both thought the redneck was going to attack me just for the deer. BTW - they tagged it as "roadkill" when I took it in for processing... LOL
  12. I agree - it is easy to blame a dog and forget the owners. My 1st husband and I bought a pitbull from a man in the Atlanta area many years ago. When we went to pick up the puppy, the man had the mama dog on a chain inside the fenced backyard. He said she normally stays inside but since she didn't know us and we were going to be handling her puppies, he thought it best if she was contained outside. Several years later, there was an attack reported on a little girl who when inside a fence, got too close to a pitbull and was mauled. Guess what - it was the same Mama dog. This owner was h
  13. My 1st husband and I owned numerous pitbulls. We were fortunate that most of ours were very sweet, loving, docile animals that just wanted to be loved. We did, however end up with 2 that were not. We had one that was fine with just the two of us, but once my son was born, he became very stubborn - wouldn't mind - growled if we told him to get out of the recliner. So, unfortunately, he was banned outside to a secure fenced area. Lucky for him, an older gentlemen approached us and asked if he could have the dog and although we were very upfront with him about his "new" temperament, the man
  14. OK - sorry my hubby's are a little smaller than that. Good luck finding what you need.
  15. What size are you looking for? My hubby has a few that he would probably let go. If you aren't interested in gently used, K&G Mens Clothing is a good place - we prefer the location in Marietta on Hwy 5.
  16. My hubby has also been watching this series - and is loving every minute of it! The rest of the family get a condensed version at dinner each night... LOL
  17. Prayers of comfort for you and your family!
  18. Maybe they got their driver's license in a box of Fruit Loops that was on sale recently.....
  19. I agree with you for the most part. He told us that he could see that we honestly did everything we could to try to repair the car ourselves. And then when their mechanic said he had no idea what was causing it to run hot or not start in the mornings, they decided to do the right thing and help her out. I try to give people/businesses the benefit of doubt until they treat men wrong - then I can get pretty angry - LOL
  20. She did - we replaced the head gaskets and checked the heads to see if they were cracked which they weren't. We also checked the fans as someone else mentioned that to us. We did find that someone had put "stop leak" in it, so we (and the dealer) think that someone else ran into this problem, couldn't get it repaired so they did a "quick temporary fix" and traded it in. It is the craziest thing - we literally took almost $1,000 in receipts up to the dealer to show him what we had done to the car to try to repair it ourselves. They let her trade the car in this afternoon and just wipe
  21. It has been the craziest thing with her car. We have talked to everyone we possibly can to get some idea as to what causes these things and NO ONE can determine the cause. Her car will run hot (temp gauge never moves) but fill tank is always empty - no water/anti-freeze coming out from under the car at all! We have no idea where it is going. And we have replaced almost everything on her car from head gaskets down to plugs and wires, 4 radiator caps, radiator, sensors - you name it. Also, her car will not start early in the morning. They can't explain that one either. She finally went
