  1. CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a pretty baby!
  2. Dabbs Bridge was Ok from hwy 61 to the 4-way intersection. Hwy 61N is still closed both at High Shoals and near the Bartow county line as far as I know. My DH went Dabbs Bridge this morning to work. He said it was really rough in some areas and he got stuck on the hill right past Silver Crest Lakes (or whatever the name of that sub is) near the county line but finally managed to get up the hill and and onto Hwy 41. I think I saw in another thread that things are already starting to refreeze.
  3. As far as I know, 61N is still closed both at High Shoals Road and further north near the Bartow County line. My SIL just took my DD to work. They took Dabbs Bridge to 4-way intersection, turned right onto Harmony Grove Church Road then right onto Cedarcrest thru intersection at Kroger and took hwy 92 south to East Paulding Drive. She said Dabbs Bridge was Ok to that point but Harmony Grove is bad - they almost slid off the road in the curve past where they are building the new fire station. She said Cedarcrest had some icy patches but was not really that bad - for the short distance th
  4. My daughter is supposed to go in at 3pm and work until 12:30am....
  5. Lite snow flurries in Burnt Hickory too!
  6. I saw that story. There was also a car that slid off the road into a private pond. One lady managed to get out before the car was completely submerged but her companion didn't make it.
  7. My DH had to go in late because he couldn't get out of our neighborhood and then he got stuck on Dabbs Bridge, actually at the end after it turns into Black Acre Trail. When he got to Hwy 41, he said it wasn't much better.
  8. Well, pic #12 is a Harley Davidson motorcycle - LOL Is pic #11 Sturgis? North Dakota, I believe....
  9. ES, you definitely have a point. And, I agree - just sending someone to the "big house" isn't always the answer and can be counter-productive. This could be his cry for help and if that is truly the case, then he should get that help - as you said, in an institution and then probation with close, strict supervision. The shooting of the horse infuriates me! But you also have to take into consideration the other "charges". I wonder how he was getting away killing all those deer and his parents not know anything about it. My DH, DS, SIL and Ex-DH all are hunters and between them killed n
  10. I understand and I think he should be sent to the "big house"! It's not like he was just shooting and accidently hit the horse - he DELIBERATELY shot the horse 3 times. Plus all of the other "pending" charges - spotlighting deer, shooting deer from a feeding station...... The punk definitely has issues!!!!!
  11. I agree with you, except that if he worked in an animal shelter he would literally have to be physically supervised (as in someone standing with him) every minute because he obviously has not feelings whatsoever for animals and could not be trusted to care for them and not torture them. I did see on the internet that he will be tried as an adult even though he is 17yrs old - not sure if it is strictly because of the torture of the horse or because of all of the "charges". This whole story just makes my blood boil!!!!
  12. Chase Banks are all supposed to be open.....
  13. Me too! I read that story on WSBTV.com last night. There were a lot of comments and none of them were nice. I person even said that he was probably safer in jail than he would be out on the streets, especially since his name and picture are now public. And several people even commented that serial killers start out by mistreating animals.
  14. I think this is it..... http://www.radiorefe...audio/?ctid=492
  15. I am so sorry! Prayers for Shannon and your entire family.
  16. Us too! We heard all the sirens and knew something had happened - I hope the accident wasn't too bad and no one was hurt.
  17. When I was still working, we had a "back office" in India and they did the majority of our computer troubleshooting and repairs that way.
  18. Us too! And we are in Burnt Hickory!
  19. How does that card work? Have you or anyone that you know actually used it?
  20. Neither of my adult children have insurance either. They have both used the Medicine Shoppe in Dallas and Sam's in Hiram (and you don't need a Sam's membership to use the pharmacy). My son now lives in Marietta and gets his scripts filled at Costco on Barrett Parkway. I know you said you don't want to drive back to Hiram but I would be willing to drive most anywhere in the county if I could reduce the cost of my prescriptions.
  21. I was diagnosed with almost the exact same diagnosis in August, 2006 at 44yrs old. I had the option of having a left mastectomy or bilateral mastectomies but chose the lumpectomy instead. I had a lumpectomy to remove the tumor and sentinel lymph node and a 1-inch clean margin. I did not require chemo but chose to have mammosite radiation therapy (as opposed to external beam radiation) twice a day for 5 days. I now take Tamoxifen as follow-up treatment and just last year switched to having mammograms every 6 months rather than every 3 months. I just had my first mammogram for 2010 yesterda
  22. YES!!! And I have tried the vinegar and it worked for a couple of days and then they were right back. We have even tried the ant bait and it doesn't work either. We have also used the spray but sparingly since we have dogs and a baby in the house. It only helps for a short period of time too. We did finally realize that they are building nests or whatever in my plants.....
  23. My DH doesn't go back to work until Wednesday...... I have always loved the holidays and the hustle and bustle that goes with it. This year was a different, of course but I have always been ready to return to our "normal" routines after the New Year.
