  1. Sorry - just got back to the PC - it was between Hwy 41 and Pumpkinvine Bridge. My daughter said they literally almost ran over the guy - he was staggering back and forth on the road like he was drunk or something. They flashed their lights at the first cop car so they wouldn't run over him but they had lights shining them into the woods so they probably would have seen him anyways.
  2. My DD and SIL were coming home from Hwy 41 on Dabbs Bridge and almost ran over a guy in an orange shirt running down the middle of the road from numerous Paulding Co cops. Anyone know what happened? I looked in the scanner forum but didn't see anything posted.
  3. Prayers being said for your son, your family and the physicians!
  4. I agree - BUT what if Little Grey is right and John Doe is too tall to be George? Inquiring minds want to know....
  5. We put laminate in our house last November. Son and Son-in-law put it down and it looks great! I bought an inexpensive but good quality saw and saw blades from Lowe's and we bought our flooring, including the underlayment from Lumber Liquidators. They have a warehouse off Delk Road. They did most of our entire house in almost one weekend - began Friday night and finished up noonish on Monday. Good luck!
  6. Good for you! Our house is not paid for and my DH lost a lot of our retirement with the Washington Mutual failure but we don't have credit card debt so that is a plus. I hope to be in your situation when we get ready to retire.
  7. He reminds me of my son at about that same age - gorgeous eyes, long lashes and blond curls. Just too adorable!!!!
  8. GOSH! My heart just sank when I read your post - until I thought to look at the time it was posted. My DD drives a white car and travels Dabbs Bridge frequently.
  9. Awesome story! I had no idea there was a program like that at the airport. What a wonderful idea!
  10. Well, just for the record - I happen to agree that the gov't does not need all that information. I was just trying to save some poor unsuspecting soul - like possibly some elderly people or even young adults - from getting scammed and/or having their identity stolen. Oh and here would be my answers 4 adults 1 infant 1 cat 7 dogs - 2 of which will bite your ankles off
  11. I received the following in an email and even though most of it should be common sense, I thought I would share it as a reminder for everyone to watch out for scam artists..... With the U.S. Census process beginning, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) advises people to be cooperative, but cautious, so as not to become a victim of fraud or identity theft. The first phase of the 2010 U.S.. Census is under way as workers have begun verifying the addresses of households across the country. Eventually, more than 140,000 U.S. Census workers will count every person in the United States and will ga
  12. I and both of my children are all organ donors. I have a cousin who received a heart at the age of 18yrs old from a 20yr old male who died in an auto accident. That was 20years ago and she now owns her own gym and is doing great! Her/my family wanted to meet the guy's family but the Mother was very adamant (sp) that she did not want to meet my cousin or have anything to do with her. I seem to remember that he wanted to be an organ donor and his mother was not aware of it and was against it. For whatever reason, in spite of her objections, his organs were donated anyways. I think
  13. I am so happy that your Mom seems to be doing well and that you were finally able to talk with her. Prayers still being said for you and your family.
  14. First of all - my daughter, son-in-law and grandson live with us - simply because due to several financial setbacks, they were forced to give up the rental home they were living in. It is nothing to be ashamed of and we are all making the best of it. We get along great, we share the responsibilities, finances, etc. and one day they will be able to get out on their own. But for now, my hubby and I are just happy that we can help them - and as you said, they have a support system and somewhere to go when so many people out there do not. Secondly, I do not know about the eviction laws, but
  15. Me too! It absolutely makes your heart drop to the pit of your stomach.
  16. I live on Marable Lane and EVERYONE has a difficult time with the spelling and the pronunciation - they always leave out the second "a" so it comes out sounding and spelled like Marble. We have so many new neighbors that I don't know who this person is - hope she is OK. I saw Clark's go past my house and wondered what was going on.
  17. LOL - my Mom told me once that my brother told her if he had known as a teenage what he knew as an adult he would still be living it home with her - and she said she was afraid he was telling the truth! I've always heard that once they leave they always come back but bring more with them and I can certainly vouch for that statement!!!
  18. Hey, GT - I think Ms JR's post was about an accident that happened just south of us around 6:30ish with maybe 2 life flight heli's landing at Hickory Heights Church. I didn't hear about the truck flipping. People need to drive slower. I was on my way over to my Mom's house yesterday to go through some things and was stopped waiting for a car to make a left turn and saw in my rearview a small red car FLYING towards me. My first thought is "this guy is going to cream me" but he jerked it to the right and went straight into a tree and down a bank. Both people seemed to be OK for the most
  19. I am so sorry! Prayers being said that he goes peacefully and that God give you and your family comfort and peace.
