  1. You are right, no need to discuss the wrongs done to her, but rather focus on the good that she did. I'm sure she was a good friend to you and others. She is safe in the arms of her Savior now and very much at peace. The soul doesn't does not go to Heaven with hatred in the heart, all is forgiven. RIP Spunkywman, we will miss you here.
  2. Oh my goodness, I hate to hear this news. Although I never met her, she seemed to be such a sweet person with a good heart. She was also a very sad lady, I pray that she is now at peace.
  3. Not sure how to hep you. Hopefully someone on here can. I "lost" some of mine, but found them in another board, so I started searching and separating my Pins into sub categories.
  4. MissSophie, you and I have the same floor plan. Our builder did undersize the AC units. He and the AC company claimed it was right for the square footage, but they did not bother to take all the vaulted ceilings into consideration. If your unit is the original, you may want to have it serviced. It may need some refrigerant added and don't forget to check the filter in your unit in the attic. Also, make sure that none of the air returns are blocked.
  5. I have never been to Aldi's, but I keep hearing about their great prices and quality food. I'm going to have to go check it out and maybe I can stop going to Walmart.
  6. Yes, I want to see her show. My DH would never go, but my friends and I have said our next girls trip down there will have to include one of her shows. I have never been on one of the carriage tours, but when I worked in a shop at City Market (1989-92), I used to give the day old giant peanut butter cookies to the horses, they loved them. On the last girls trip, we took a Haunted Hearse tour, that was great and so funny, you'll have to try it. It's been almost 21 years ago that DH and I moved up here, but I miss Savannah so much. We were down there for a bit of fun and some work, I got my hou
  7. Thanks, I love it, too. My DD has grown up here, but she finally found a reason to love my hometown as much as she loves my husbands hometown, Daytona Beach. She really enjoyed learning something about Savannah's history and the scenery. She's always loved River Street, City Market, Spanky's and Shell House since she was old enough to speak.
  8. Whitfield Chapel at Bethesda Home for Boys My DD inside the chapel. The pews are original. I bet my Dad sat here at least once during his time at Bethesda during the 30's and 40's. more of the Chapel. Cool door knob on the Chapel door. Spanish mos at the cemetery where my parents are buried. Tybee Lighthouse, first pic I've ever taken of the lighthouse and I grew up in Savannah. Go figure. First time to Wormsloe and they were closed. Oh well, there is always next time.
  9. Great story! I am so glad you took that sweet baby in until her owners could be found.
  10. Sounds good. I've had Select grade that when done right, like the aging you are doing, it tastes like prime and cuts like butter. We make a prime rib roast for the holidays, but we just don't have the room to properly age anything at home. So we just go the prime cooking method, aged in the fridge as best we can.
  11. $5 per pound for ribeye is good, was it select or choice? We are having fish and shrimp tacos tonight.
  12. It would appear that one has nothing to do with the other. Maybe someone misread the article and assumed it was about the gun club in Hiram. Of course it is not, yet the person has not come back to correct themselves, so I would assume they are just trying to stir up rumors. JMHO
  13. Just curious CeeJay, are you or have you ever been a math professor/instructor?
  14. Wow, that is a great price, I need to go stock up. We love leg quarters. We do buy chicken breast, but I think it lacks the flavor of dark meat, but then of course that depends on how we prepare it.
  15. Sad situation. Prayers go out to his family, friends and co-workers.
  16. Agreed. The death penalty should be used more often.
  17. Rachelle Beamer at Select Salon in Hiram across from Hiram Animal Hospital on 92. She is in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and is a wonderful hair dresser.
  18. I'm sure today was quite hard, but try to see it as a blessing. The "material things" your sister left behind most likely brought back some wonderful memories you, BIL or the kids may have forgotten. It was a way to allow you all to remember the good, the bad and the amazing things that happened during her lifetime. Every now and then life finds a way to turn the sad into a beautiful silver lining. I believe that probably happened to all of you in some way today.
  19. Have you tried a dentist? Last week on "The Doctor's" there was a lady who had all sorts of issues from an accident. It was finally a trip to a particular type of dentist, I can't remember, but he created a mouth piece for her that stopped her from grinding her teeth and allowed more air into her body. It worked for way more than it was intended, which was to stop her grinding. **I just went through the archives of that show, and the woman was treated for TMJ. Her accident was from an elevator falling while she was in it.**
  20. I loved the sound of her voice, it was quite calming.
  21. I will be at the meetings, I hope everyone else in Hiram is there too.
  22. Cool. Post a pic of your finished wall when you get the new decal on the tree. Can't wait to see it.
