raclay replied to tranquility's topic in Paulding County NEWS
We've received two texts about it. Tomorrow is the first day of work for my DS at the new hospital. -
Prayers sent for you.

Has anyone posted the instant karma video yet?

I too am seriously considering getting a dash cam. It amazes me the number of people in this county that don't know the rules of a 3 or 4 way stop compared to a two way stop. -
What a beautiful way to say goodbye. I'm doing the ugly cry, too.

Would anyone know where I could find some Tiger Oak?
raclay replied to raclay's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Here are two pictures of the rocking chair, the second is of the damage. You can see the tenons are exposed. I really like the chair although I know very little about it or its history or its maker. Hopefully, I will get some answers soon. -
Miss Sophie is NOT falling apart; but yes . . .

It might just be your element needs replacing and that is something you can do. Look on YouTube for videos on how to do it. Dryers are very basic and usually easy for owners to repair. If you still want a repairman, Pates in Dallas is good. If you do it yourself, call around for the best price on the part. I usually call Pates and Mitchells in Douglasville to compare and then go to the one who is cheaper. The distance from where we live is about the same. -

Wow, if those that furniture was in peices before, the guy who did the work is aa miracle man. They are beautiful The chair I have is not in peices, just has a couple of gouges in it at the joint, exposing it. It also has three screws in it, but I'm not sure what can be done about that, a craftsman would know. By chance do you remember about where in Hiram your guy is located or if he is out of a shop or his home? I found online someone by the name of Alan Pelethe (?) who restores and is in Hiram. There is also a man at Home Depot who does woodwork like this, but he wasn't in when I was in the -

Thank you for asking. I do appreciate it. Thank you, I may have to check that place out. I do love a good junky flea market. LOL Those pieces are beautiful, he did a wonderful job. I am going to need someone to repair the rocking chair, so I will look into finding the place in Hiram. Also, I'll call the place in Kennesaw and see if they have some oak for sale. Thank you so much. -

About 3 feet long. That would be awesome if he had some. If he does, let me know how much he would charge, that wood is expensive to produce since it's quater sawn oak and is quite a wasteful way to cut a tree. Thank you. -

Thanks. Where is 27? -
I bought an old rocking chair today and it needs a piece of skirting ( I think that's what it is called) replaced. I realize it will be hard to match, but I am trying to find an old piece of the oak and I'm not really sure where to look. Also, it needs to be repaired by someone who knows furniture and how to fix it without it looking like a repair. I really like this old rocker and want it have at least another 100 years of life. Thanks y'all.

How do you like your Low Country Boil, or Frogmore Stew ?
raclay replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We make it traditional style, but do not add a mirepoix or wine. We use potatoes, onion, corn, beef sausage ( just our preference), shrimp and sometimes crab legs. We always use shrimp & crab boil bag and loads of Old Bay or Old Savannah Spice Co. seasoning. THen again, I'm from Savannah and that's how it's made down yonder. lol -
I thought that is where they planned to put the new water park.

Just a little. LOL. We had a Rat Terrier that would pose when we got out the camera. He was a hoot.

Ozzy now Ozzy about 12 weeks old Axl, the princess Italian Greyhound Oliver the sweetest cat on the planet. My husband is still very allergic to Oliver, but he makes it work.

Whew, I know you are relieved. I'm glad your dog is safe and sound.

GSP has always come out when we've been involved in accident. My DS had two, his fault and the last was me, not my fault. All three times the officers were great. I have no idea why they have to come out though. As far as issues with this new board, whenever I look at a post and then return to the main page via the Recent Topics button, the post I was reading vanishes for awhile.

First, I'm glad you are not more seriously injured. I suppose the other guy will be okay as well. I don't have any better advice than what you have already received above. I do hope that you get checked out and are back to feeling great soon.

Miss Sophie, that's who did yours? They did a great job. We have a few pines and a Tulip Poplar that need to be removed. Do they give free estimates?

Bosch and I love it. It's very quiet and cleans really well. The only downside is the cost, it was a bit pricey, but I believe it was worth it. Oh, and it is a bit smaller than others. I can't put my big cookie sheets in this one. Some one mentioned older dishwashers, my house in Savannah has the original Kitchen Aid by Hobart, (yes that is that brand name) and that sucker cleans like nobody's business. It's loud, but good and sturdy since 1980. However, I wouldn't buy a Kitchen Aid nowadays, they just don't make 'em like they used to.

If it crashed in the relatively shallow water, as suggested above, is it possible that it is literally buried under the sea bed? Could a plane that size dig right into the sea bed and be completely covered without breaking apart?

I have FB and I also do Pinterest, not sure if the latter is considered social media, but I enjoy them both. This is one way for me to keep up with other friends and family that I don't see often. Some of talk, but through FB, we can "see" what's going on. Also, there is no drama allowed on my FB. Period.
