Tony Stewart involved in fatal incident Saturday
raclay replied to CitizenCain's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Regarding Tony Stewart revving his engine as he approached Ward. From what I have read about these type of cars, drivers must use throttle more than a steering wheel to actually steer the car.The Tweeted post above also states that there is a major blind spot on these cars. Is Tony a hothead, yes, but then most of these drivers are. Take into consideration the amount of adrenaline pumping through these guys as they are racing and when someone pisses off another, then tempers flare and they will do things that go against protocol. If you have ever followed auto racing of any kind, you will know -
Yes, if I have my DD or DS in the car with me, they will text for me. I won't do it myself.

I carry sometimes, but no one will ever know. It is not for show. I get sick to my stomach when I see the words Desert Eagle. My husbands co-worker spent years in the military, he was in Desert Storm, served his country and was given a DE when he was Honorably Discharged. Several years ago, some jack hole(s) broke into his home and stole it, along with some other weapons and whatever else they could carry. They were robbed in broad daylight while at work and the kids were at school.

Hands free calling. I love it. Never have to touch my phone. Oh and I am physically unable to text while driving... I tried once... it didn't work out and it was stupid and I just don't do it. (I was driving in my empty cul-de-sac when I tried BTW, no one was around).

What happened to the krispy donuts coming to Hiram?
raclay replied to mom2dachs's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Love KK, but don't want one close to home. Not a good idea. Starbucks and DQ are bad enough. As far as good subs go, there is no sub like a Baldino's sub sandwich. OH MY LAWD they are good and I'm not a sub/sandwich eater. -

Krispy Kreme is coming to Douglasville, near the new Academy. -
There is definitely a difference in taste between US wild shrimp and the foreign crap. The foreign crap has a very metallic taste. We always load up when we go to Savannah. Our two trips in June, we came home empty handed. The shrimpers were still out and had not brought any in when we were there on the first trip. The second, I forgot to check. Sometimes we get shrimp right off the boat, other times we go the local wholesaler that supplies some of the restaurants. ETA: I forgot, I did check with a seafood shop while down at Tybee the last trip, but I couldn't bring myself to pay 14.99 per p

The family of murder victims put it in perspective.
raclay replied to cookies are sweet's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No sympathy from me either. He wasn't in any pain, unlike his victims who most likely suffered before be killed them. It took a while, but Karma finally caught up with him. -
Congratulations on your new family member, she is beautiful and I love her name. May she bring you and your family many years of love, happiness and wonderful moments together! It's pretty cool that she likes the slide and water. My Boston loves to swim, he just dives right in whenever someone is in the pool, he's not allowed in unsupervised.

Maybe Subby can help you, he repairs engines.

I hope he likes them, too. I bet he will. Thank you and Middle schooler for your thoughtfulness.

My DD was so proud of this card and we put it in the mail today. I read an article earlier today that stated Danny Nickerson has received over 400 cards as of today. That is awesome.

OMG, that is awesome! Hug that kid every chance you get.

Cool, thanks Momof3. I don't know this little boy, but it is such a small gesture from us, but a really big deal for him.

I just read this article about this little 6 year old boy in Massachusetts who has an inoperable brain tumor. His birthday is July 25 and all he is asking for is birthday cards. If you think you have a minute to send him a card, please do so. According to the article, he no longer goes to Kindergarten and he gets quite lonely. Brain cancer is a disease that took my sister in 2008 and eventually she lost her eyesight. I suspect at some point this little boy will too, so lets send him some cards before that happens and he can experience the joy of looking at them. Some of you have younger kids w

I considerthe KKK, nowadays, to be on the same level as the NAACP and I will have nothing to do with either. Aside from that, never take candy from strangers, might make ya sick.

Thank you God that he was found safe.

RUSSIAN SEPARATISTS SHOT PLANE DOWN OVER UKRAINE
raclay replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I've been watching the news reports on this, too. It's horrible. -
Yep, I never let it go over 5k. All this car talk reminded me I need a new air filter. Silvia is 3 now, so I need to replace her fuel filter too. Thanks y'all for making me remember.

The service is not great, they are very slow and always try to sell me something. However, I like the idea of getting the right oil for my truck. I did use some of the other quick places withmy old truck, but they would always put too little oil in it. They claimed she was burning oil, she wasn't. So I give in and go to Hardy.
-
I take my 2011 Silverado to Hardy, it has never gone anywhere else, and they use a synthetic blend. I can't remember the brand. My old truck, a 1998 GMC Sierra, only ever had synthetic blend and she ran and ran until I was T-boned over by Hiram Home Depot in 2011.

Be a duck, let it roll off your back. I support our military. Those men and women do more than I have ever had the guts to do. Some might go in not knowing what else they want to do in life, I don't know that for sure, but the fact remains they ALL know they may have to face war and defend this country or help another country. That alone, my friends, is worthy of MUCH respect.

Father who left child in hot car charged with murder

Your right, and I forgot about mouth breathing to block smell. My paramedic friend breathes through her mouth for that reason. -
Father who left child in hot car charged with murder

Maybe someone will chime in and let me know if I'm wrong, but I have to wonder if the "father" applied something such as Vick's Vapo rub in and/or under his nose to mask the smell he likely knew would be in the car. It's my understanding that emergency workers and maybe the coroners do this to help with such foul odors when entering a building knowing there is a deceased person inside.
