  1. Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Continued thoughts and prayers for you and a full recovery.
  2. I hope that's not the case. The way I read the article was that the couple chose a donor in 2012 and one woman became pregnant and had the child. The other woman in the relationship wanted to become pregnant and the couple requested the same donor, but were given a different donor by the clinic. My guess here is they wanted their children to be biologically related via the donor sperm, thus the request for the same donor as was used in the previous pregnancy. The way I see it, this child was meant to be, whether he/she is biracial or not. At the same time, I understand their wanting to sue b
  3. http://youtu.be/v2AC41dglnM This is their song "Thunderstruck" http://youtu.be/Lo2qQmj0_h4 This is "Shook Me All Night Long" and one of my personal favorites...you just have to listen. http://youtu.be/gJ3tqIukBKg Brian Johnson, the current lead singer is great, but I believe Bon Scott was the better of the two. Shoot who am I kidding I like them both. Malcolm Young, the subject of this topic, was the brain child behind AC/DC.
  4. SERIOUSLY?!! Thunderstruck, Hell's Bell's, Shook Me All Night Long, Whole Lotta Rosie, Highway to Hell. Any of those ring a bell?
  5. This makes me so sad. They are my favorite band, heck my own initials are ACDC. Thoughts and prayers to his family, Dementia and Alzheimer's are horrible.
  6. Absolutely! I took my Boston Terrier, Ozzy, up there on Monday to meet Maggie, Diane and Russell. Ozzy just loved them and that is also how I know they are genuinely good people.
  7. We've decided that removing it is not an option, even if a professional did it. The piece just has too much sentimental value to my husband. I did find some info online last night that said we could notch a slight V shape into it and then add new Bar Top to it ( it's now called Ultra Clear) and it would fill it and cause the crack to disappear. IF we do it, we will try on a small area and see how it goes. Some of the finish that''s on the bottom has a slight cracks, so that would be a good place to try the method. The poster who mentioned this technique said that the V shape and the sanding re
  8. GLG recently tinted my truck windows and I just wanted to let everyone know how pleased I am with their service. They did a great job, they are so friendly and really take pride in the work they do. Thank you, Gotcha Look'n Good!! -Amy C.
  9. Yes, that makes sense. I had friends when I was young whose parents had bars and tables like this, so that's what makes me think it may be epoxy. This table is the size of a coffee table, so it wasn't used for eating on, but I'm sure people came along and handled it, set things down on it and such. It will stay inside my home and we always use coasters for our drinks, so hopefully, if we are not able to repair it at least the cracks and spots won't get worse. I'm going out in a few minutes and have a look around HD, just to see what is out there. It is very thick in places. The woo
  10. The bottom is finished and has some sort of fabric like material (fiberglass sheet?) where the table top and legs are joined together. The table has been kept indoors for the past twenty years or so that I know of for certain and when my MIL and her husband bought it from Blackbeard's, it had been inside the restaurant for many years. So, I'm not sure why it would crack. As far as he finish, I'm not really sure how to determine what the finish is exactly, polyurethane or epoxy. I'm going to Google that right now.
  11. Same here. It's looking as if we may just have to leave it, at least for now. I'm sure at some point down the road, we will stumble on to something that we can do with it.
  12. Actually, the wood is not splitting, it's only the finish that's cracked. I'm still doing some research on how to fix this thing. DH definitely does not want the original finish to come off, so hopefully I will be able to find some way to repair it.
  13. Thank you all for the input. I'm going to take Markdavd's advice first and Google repairing these type finishes. The results may come up with some of the other suggestions. I don't think my husband wants to take the finish off, so we will see what we can do to repair it, if possible. The table was used as a decor piece at Blackbeard's Inn restaurant in Ponce Inlet, Florida until my MIL and her husband bought it, actually they bought two of them. Blackbeard's was a place my DH and his parents went to for years when he was a kid and so this is really special to him. His mom had the in her home f
  14. Thank you, I will message him. Thanks, it is quite the unique piece.
  15. We brought this table home yesterday, got in Daytona. It's petrified Mango and the finish that is on top is cracked. We think the finish is either many layers of polyurethane or that epoxy stuff that was so popular years ago. DH and I don't want to change the finish to something else, just repair the cracks that are in it. Does anyone know if this can be done? Thanks
  16. I simply can not watch any horror movies, new or old. They terrify me and I have nightmares for at least a couple of nights after. Crazy, I know. Deliverance is one that comes to mind right away. That movie made me nauseous Another is Ghost Rider 2, terrible movie..
  17. Not if our government would grow a pair and bomb the sheeze out of them, but then no one has had the nerve to do anything since WWII. JMHO
  18. They need to grow up and do what is right for their children, whether they get along or not has nothing to do with the children. Also, baby mama should not have baby daddy blocked on her phone, that is very irresponsible and childish. Those two really need to learn some proper communication skills, they will all be the better for it.
  19. This whole story is just gross. Just an FYI, Effingham is also referred to as "methingham". Maybe those two nasties were on it.
  20. Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. Midnight is completely unrelated to this story and what exactly does Savannah have to do with Effingham County?
  21. This is who we used back in May. They are professional, do great work and their prices are great. We went to their shop, picked out what we wanted, they came out and measured and in three days were here to install. All within a weeks time.
  22. Glad he's been caught. It's scary that this nut case was let out on the streets. Thank goodness he didn't hurt the person he carjacked.
