  1. gog8tors, thank you for the heads up. I have been keeping a close eye on my dogs when they go out, especially since you first posted this info. Also, I am so glad to hear the the Lab is doing well and on the mend. They are great dogs and hopefully he will still have a massive love for people, despite what happened to him.
  2. Did he really marry her? I can't find anything online to confirm that news. If it's true, that is definitely creepy and he will no longer be my favorite actor.
  3. Where did the OP go? I wonder if she ever got her shotgun shaped cake and who made it?
  4. I don't drink beer at all, it is just nasty to me. All of them and beer stinks. However, I do love tequila and it loves to give me a headache. Still, I very rarely drink and I am usually the DD whenever out with friends or family.
  5. I started playing Candy Crush and got bored. I am however, very hooked on Mahjong, it's a really boring life I lead. haha
  6. Yeah, they have the best tasting cakes in the history of cakes!
  7. I do believe in spirits, but don't believe this photo has one. The "skull" is just leaves from the shrubbery. I have had experiences first hand and no one will ever tell me that it was "in my head" or "my mind playing tricks on me". However, I don't jump on the bandwagon along with everyone else because they have an "orb" in a photo, just an example, it does not apply to the above photo.
  8. I have a forty year old Singer that belonged to my sister and I have no idea how to sew. It needs repairing, the bobbin won't wind thread, other than that, it works great. As far as lessons, I have a friend who taught herself via youtube. I keep saying that's what I will do.
  9. Lucky, I don't live in Savannah anymore. I have lived in metro Atlanta area since 93 and Hiram since 99. I own a house in the Savannah area that I rent out. As far as the animal pics, they are all from Oatland Island and are all living in enclosures, they don't run free. Many of the animals living a the wildlife center are native to North America. Oatland Island is on the way out to Tybee Island and they are a place for injured wildlife to go for rehabilitation and release, if they are lucky. Most of the birds of prey that are on display for the public have been injured in some way that they c
  10. I did take this pic near my house...in Savannah. We went to Oatland Island Wildlife Center, that place is amazing. I have not been since grade school field trips. I felt like a kid again. It's all set up as a nature walk, probably 2 miles long, with all sorts of indigenous animals and creatures from the coastal area to all over the US. Here's another. Grey Wolf. OIWC has four grey wolves, three males and one female.

    OMG !

That is a very cool stove/oven.
  12. I forgot about Inlet Harbor, that place is amazing. Also, in New Smyrna is the Boston Fish House and Blackbeards, both good. She has a three month old with her, or I would suggest Daytona Lagoon water park.
  13. Aunt Catfish is good, but get there early or you will wait...outside...in the heat. Down the Hatch is good, we like Inlet Harbor restaurant better. The one next to the lighthouse is nice, you can eat outside, I think it's called Lighthouse Restaurant or it was. There is a short nature path near the light house, well shaded and just a pleasant little walk with a tower at the end. The nature path is right next to the Science Center. DH is from Daytona, and we go every year to see family. Like others have said, the track tour is neat, the flea market is also neat and it's open F,S,and Sun.If you
  14. Keep trying with them. Honestly, it takes a couple of tries with them. Not sure why, but it does.
  15. Try Target. They tend to place those with a degree, any degree, in a better paying position. You won't get 40 hours, maybe around 30ish, but it's a start and if you like it they tend to help with tuition for those who are willing to get a degree that will benefit Target Corporation and you as long as you want to continue to work for them. IE: a business degree ETA: A better position such as a Team Lead, Leader on Duty and so on.
  16. My Dad worked for Union Camp in Savannah for 42 years. It stinks, but it is the money of money.
  17. My husband is a Pipefitter with Local 72. It's a good job and hard honest work. He's very good at what he does and takes pride in it,so much so, that I've heard him talking in his sleep about it. RM, you bring up a good point about blue collar workers and skilled tradesmen. Who is going to do the hard and dirty work if so many kids want white collar work? The load has to be evened out accordingly for it to work. Me, I'm a stay at home mom, not that I want to be, but I am. However, I have learned so much about many things just watching, listening and helping DH do things around the hou

    Cable

The plan I've been on provides one digital converter free. The other three, I have to pay for, two small converters that do not and will not ever pick up all the channels and one HD/DVR box. I believe I pay 1.99 for the small ones and 17.99 for the HD?DVR. Earlier this year I bought a ROKU box and it is great and I would drop cable in minute if I could judt figure out a way to get live broadcasts of the NASCAR races.
  19. I have to agree with S&DN about the SYG. However, the sentence does not fit the crime at all. Honestly, I believe the most she should have received is probation for discharging her weapon. THe fortunate thing about her case is that she can appeal and hopefully have her sentence over turned. I am basing my opinion solely on what I have read here and in the link the OP posted.
  20. Beautiful work. She is a true artist.
  21. Piers also made a comment that he wanted to know what George plans to do with his " moment of freedom". To me that sounds like a threat on Zimmerman's life, knowing that there is a bounty on this mans head. How bad does it need to get before the media is held responsible for their actions in cases like this one or lack of interest in others? The media is a huge driving force in what others believe and rush to get the "first" information out even if it is wrong information.
  22. True story. A few years ago DH was bitten by chiggers and was itching like crazy and asked me what he should do. I told him I would have to put nail polish on each bite, but only RED nail polish would work. He believed me and I covered his upper arms in hooker red polka dots. It worked and killed the chiggers, but it only worked once, he caught on to my trick. I must be related to the women in your family.
  23. Yeah, I noticed that. Do you know if these two could possibly be the same snake? I'm thinking not, because I don't "think" they shed that quickly or do they? The pic of the second one looks as if it shed recently, it was very dark and shiny.
