Stradial, I think you're safe. That snake is little, less than eighteen inches and I hope the little guy will stay in the woods behind my house. He/she would be hard to see by someone cutting grass.DH was worried about running over it. I posted this on my fb earlier and now one of my friends says she will never step in my yard again. Haha, a couple years ago she was trying to call some cute kittens from the side yard, turned out to be a couple of baby foxes. Lol

If it had been a venomous snake I would have been scared for sure. I'm not really scared of the good snakes, just don't want them IN my house. DH actually thinks he's going to have one one day, but nope, he is wrong.
-
Well, he's good because these guys can eat the venomous snakes. Now, do ya wanna get familiar with that kind of good? My DH loves snakes and turtles, so anytime he finds something he shouts for me and I know to come running with the camera. He let it go in the woods since he didn't want to run over it with the mower. The one from Monday, he let it go in the flower bed at the front door.

DH was out doing yard work when he came across this little guy. On Monday night while taking out the garbage, this little guy fell off the roof at my feet and startled me just a bit.

Kids BEGGING for MONEY on the Street Corner!
raclay replied to Caped Crusader's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Exactly. As far as I know, there is only one real Little League World Series and it's HIGHLY unlikely that that many teams from one county or state would be eligible to go. CC, you will have to let us know how many will take you up on your offer. -

I have often wondered how it is that so many ball teams make to the "world series" every year from the same county. -
I read about this earlier today. I'm guessing that it isn't making headlines is because it's just not "news worthy" enough. If the media can't stir up enough hate among people or bring in ratings and money, then they just aren't interested. I'm not sure if this crime is a hate crime or if it is really two rivaling gangs killing each other, I need to learn more. Unfortunately, since the victim is white, it won't matter, the news outlets just don't care.

The ones in my neighborhood finished up about 10:30, not bad.

The report said she was asked to put on shorts, they said nothing about covering her top. She has a bit of extra adipose tissue on her bottom half, but nothing to cause management or teen girls to justify asking her cover up. IMHO

This is off topic, but what kind of dog do you breed and show? Just curious/nosy.
-
Wow, I don't believe I will ever trust my animals with that vet. Something went wrong in their protocol and this happened. There is no excuse, no matter what. It bothers me that the owner was "offered two other dogs", seriously, that is supposed to make it better?

My son went to Dobbins and it was great and my daughter went to Austin Middle and it was great. We just happened to be zoned that DD had to go to Austin. My son graduated from Hiram in 2009 and my daughter will start there this school year. I absolutely love that school. Your school is what you make it and the staff at Hiram work really hard to make it a good school.

It seems that some of that deposition and the letter written by Lisa Jackson that praised Paula and her brother, sheds a different light on this for me. From what I read, that praising letter was not admissible in court, so a jury will never hear of or see it. Also, the alleged threats made by Jackson to ruin the reputation of Paula are pretty damning. Then there is the fact that Jackson's attorney,Mr. Billip, leaked the lawsuit to The National Enquirer, and these people are expected to be taken seriously and believed? I wonder...

You are right, it is a money saving option. All of the windows on the sunny side of our home are tinted and it sure does help.

Yes, I think so. It is disgusting and evidently the weirdo that did this has some serious issues. The article said he is being charged with animal cruelty, we'll just have to wait and see what, if anything, happens in the case.
-
No, it isn't, however it is not something acceptable in this country. One wouldn't go to India, per say, and cut up and cook a cow.

TP, really? Not one of us can do anything at all about who our ancestors were, certainly can't change it. We can only make sure we follow our own path. I for one won't ever apologize for any bad things my distant ancestors did nor will I take credit for any good deeds they may have done, I didn't know them and their actions have no bearing on mine.

I read the lawsuit a few days ago and couldn't understand why people kept saying it happened so long ago, when in fact, it was recent. Anyway, if these allegations are true, I don't pity her, she made her bed and now she has to lie in it. I am still going to take the wait and see approach, since people can make up elaborate lies. I was born and raised in Savannah and I have never heard of a true southern wedding having black people dressed like that and tap dancing. I swear, some of the things that can come out of people's mouth's is truly disturbing. As for her brother, I'm fairly certain she

Someone posted a link to the Chatham County Court document that lists the allegations against her. From what I read of it, it seems that the majority of the complaints were against her brother, but since PD is basically the "face" of the company, she is the one taking all the heat. If the allegations are true, then I don't feel bad for her, if they are a bunch of lies, then I say nail Lisa Jackson to the wall.

So far we have only heard about the character of Paula and her family members. They have yet to come out and speak of the character of the woman making the allegations. Personally, I have never been a fan of PD, only because I think she brings on a really fake accent, but I like a lot of her recipes. She really is a good cook and I remember her days as The Bag Lady. I was 16 and worked in City Market in my sister's antique shop. Paula was making a name for herself then, she will bounce back and if she doesn't, then I suppose she will just go into retirement.

Beautiful animal. I also hope it is left alone. I've only seen one in the wild, ever, and that was about 10 years ago. It was off Poole Bridge Rd before Crosspoint S/D was built, it was a thick wooded area then.

Mack's work is amazing. He is very knowledgeable about the art and loves to share it with others. I, too, hope some of you Pcommers will come to the library to meet him and see his beautiful work.

Yes, I saw her, I just don't recall the day. Hopefully, if she is really in need, she did find her way Helping Hands or somewhere that can give her some assistance. Still, I can't just give a handout to someone not knowing if they are legit or not.

The panhandlers seem to be coming out of the woodwork. I've seen 3 or 4 different ones up in Hiram near Target. It's sad, but at the same time I have no idea if they are really in need or if they are faking it.

Do you really believe people "long for the old days"? The old says when others were beaten, abused, hidden away because they were different or society didn't want to deal with them? A time gone by when it "acceptable" to belittle another based solely on the color of their skin? No, I have to disagree with you. You yourself stated that times are changing and that kind of belief system is no longer good and is outdated, if that is so then how can you say that people want to go back? I don't, my world changed a long time ago and those thoughts are not encouraged or tolerated in my world. It seems
