  1. Wow I had no idea. I have been the receiver of this type pictures. I know the pain of opening an envelope not expecting and not prepared to see one of my closest family members recently laying in the casket. I certainly hope none of my Facebook friends ever post this type of pictures. If they do, I will unfriend them rapidly.

I'm sure I will upset some folks. I believe it was 2007 where an American student was caned in Japan for spray painting cars. Shame we have become so lax about accountability. I'm really not in favor or caning students but I am of the opinion of putting punishments in place that sets an attitude of accountability when someone is tempted to do something so stupid. I feel a $10,000.00 fine and 1,000 Community Service hours on weekends while housed in the county jail on Friday and Saturday nights is in order. I watched an army of school board employees clean up the Poole site last Saturday
  3. I'm sorry, I'm slow tonight... "We cleaned y'all out again, didn't we???" I don't understand what you mean.
  4. We came for the first time tonight. One of the best burgers I've ever had.
  5. I've got no clue if this is a good place, bad place, fine dining establishment or awful place to eat. I haven't eaten lunch there in years after it got too loud to enjoy a relaxing lunch. I have not been back in more than 10 years. I do remember an encounter I witnessed between a friend and his customer who was also a customer of this establishment. My friend runs a towing service with an impound lot. I was hanging out with my friend one day when he had an appointment to meet a customer whom had a car in the impound lot. After settling up and after my friend bringing the car outs
  6. I had the same problem with Liberty Mutual. Every year I had no claims but the rates went up. I got a quote from Byrd Insurance in Hiram 2 years ago and went with one of the companies they represent. Last summer at renewal time ours actually went down a little.
  7. I wonder what he does on the months with 5 weeks?
  8. Maybe there was low turn out and she won because many figured "what's the use of me wasting my time voting because this mayor will resign too and I can just vote again real soon?"
  9. I'm starting a lottery on how many days till the new mayor resigns... From date of signing in... until date of resignation... I'm guessing 100 days.
  10. I cannot get our broom to stand up on its own. I think you've got to be standing over one of the tunnels to get the broom to stand up on its own.
  11. This topic brings back such good memories. The old home place had a big kitchen. There was no dining room. Mama would cook Sunday morning, we would go to church then come home and have a wonderful meal. Daddy's chair was on the end of the old red and chrome table towards the hall, Mama's chair was towards the back porch door and mine was on the side towards the stove. The kitchen was painted yellow. I can picture a big bowl of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn and okra fresh out of the garden and corn bread. Mama would have a plate of juicy sliced tomatoes from the garden. I can really sa
  12. Special apprication to the Leadership and Staff of Paulding County Schools. They have performed an outstanding job converting a war zone into a well prepared and welcoming school this morning.
  13. We went to Chicken World tonight. I love their mild wings. Not to hot, not to mild, not to sweet. And I especially look forward to interacting with the guy who takes the orders, some day when he's very successful I will remember him from when he was the little guy taking orders at Chicken World. I'm sure the other place is good, I've just got hooked on Chicken World and when I find a good place I like to come back. When I'm in that "want something new and exciting" I will try this other place.
  14. Used to be our best options from East Paulding to go to SC were either Thornton Road to I-20 or 120 to I-75. We've used the new road that connects Macland Road to Windy Hill to I-75 / I-285 several times and it saves us about 10 minutes getting to I-85 north of I-285. Good luck. Keep us posted on the best route and times.
  15. If you will run for president, I want to work on your campaign. You're certainly more level headed than most of those running today.
  16. Competitive shopping on home / auto insurance rates yearly. I'm currently with an independent agent who represents 12 different company's. Watching natural gas markets and locking in on lowest rates. Saving till it hurts, basically pay yourself before you pay anyone else (if you ain't got it in the checking account, you don't have it available to spend). Turning hot water heater temperature down.
  17. We ate at La Cocina Sunday night. It was fair at best, server seemed to be lost. This used to be our favorite place. I noticed a different manager and my wife mentioned she wished the old manager was back. Checked my credit card account yesterday morning and the transaction showed the original bill amount pending approval. This morning it shows approved at more than $20.00 than the total I signed for after tip. I tipped 15% for average service at best. Sure did not intend to pay a $20.00 bonus on top of a 15% tip. I will be fileing a dispute this morning and have added La C
  18. Didn't one of the candidates for Hiram mayor mention on here recently that a Hiram Tunnel entrance was part of his platform?
  19. I'm guessing the Airport is 5 or 6 minutes west of the court house. Actually a couple of really good sit down eating places are just before the court house, Audry's and Chicken World are both located just off the road at the traffic light just before the court house as you are traveling west on 278.
  20. I agree this does seem odd. I read somewhere (WSB I think) 1 man has been released from the hospital and the other gentleman is in critical condition. I hope he will recover.
  21. Your statement is premature... Wait till he runs for any office and I'm sure you can quote me saying that over, and over, and over. On a serious note... Has anyone heard anything on the injured workers conditions?

    options?

We were actually 1 year + ahead with excellent credit history and extremely high scores and had the same end result as you with BOA. BOA sent me a letter offering a refinance. Figuring with a reduction in interest rates I would continue to make the same payment and pay the house off earlier I went through the process. The terms ended up being impossible with BOA, so I stopped the process. Then Todd Pownall suggested Scott Fitzgerald at Regions Bank on Dallas Highway. He was a pleasure to work with. BOA had wanted me to bring $5,700 to closing so the loan amount would be 20% under their ap
  23. Honest answer. At the end of the day I can honestly say I did what I needed to do to provide the proper balance. Sometimes it was tough to decide which way to go. I hope I never neglected my wife and kids, but I know I did the best I could.
  24. I think it's a New Jersey subject to be considered upon by New Jersey citizens. From what I've read the Governor has done a good job overall. If the citizens agree or disagree strongly one way or the other they can voice their opinions now by either praising their governor or starting a recall campaign. Same thing here in Georgia and locally... We have the choice to voice our opinions now or at the next elections. As to the question at hand about lowering flags in New Jersey... I really don't care one way or the other. When we hear of an order to lower flags I will have an opin
