  1. Actually since this topic started I've been watching Dollar Generals stock and I am quite impressed with their success and performance. I think I'm on the verge of starting to buy it monthly.
  2. Are they working with you on providing an acceptable buffer?
  3. I'm wondering how you can get 2 or 4 hours for 1?
  4. I am reading in between the lines someone at the site is talking to you since you were warned they would be starting early one morning. Someone above mentioned you might want to contact the Marshal's Office rather than looking for assistance on Paulding.com. Just in case you do not have it... Here's a number to the Marshal's Office... 770-222-1160. I must admit while I am sorry for you, after complaining about the lack of growth for 3-1/4 years it is exciting to hear of construction equipment starting up this morning. I guess we all want to see the economy speed up, just not in our ow
  5. Foot injury and grinder burn. Did these happen at work? If so, shouldn't it be a workers comp injury?
  6. This subject is the perfect example of ask 100 people and you will get 100 different answers. The suggestion above to talk to the solicitor, then the judge is your only opinions to get the charges reduced or dismissed.
  7. Kmhmom Our hearts hurt for you and your family. I lost my dad on April 15, 1982, my Mom in 2007 and our daughter in 2009. My dads and moms passings were expected after each having a season of rapidly declining health. Our daughter's was not. We got an unexpected call about 11pm on a Tuesday night that she was gone. While all deaths hurt, the unexpected call is something I cannot describe now it still effects us. West Ridge Church host Hope Counciling Center on Monday nights, I think they start about 5pm and take clients till about 8:30pm. And Grief Share meets on Tuesday nigh
  8. Exactly... They have been given a choice. It's up to each one now. I personally think they've been offered a great deal. As of yesterday afternoon 21 had taken the deal. I'm wondering how many of the 21 will come up short by this time next year and whine "it's not fair, they didn't give enough time"? If it were my son he would be performing Community Service this morning. And the fine, probation and his portion of the cleanup cost would have already been deducted from his savings and checks issued yesterday. I know of 1 personally of the 21 who is already working on putting this
  9. Thank you Pubby for posting the video. I think they have been offered a very fair deal. And I'm positive I heard the D A say clear enough this is a take it or leave it offer. I'm wondering if Mr. Zimmerman is one who has not taken Mr. Donavan up on his offer? I would not be surprised if Mr. Zimmerman calls a news conference to express this offer is not fair to him.
  10. Based on Young Mr. Zimmerman's recent use of the media I think the DA is wise to open the proceedings to the media. My personal opinion is if this had been my child I would have put my effort into throwing ourselves on the mercy of the authority's instead of rubbing their noses in the crap of media produced bull. Just my opinion. I have found our local officials to be very fair during past personal dealings.
  11. My personal observation and opinion is Mr. Zimmerman is not accustomed to listening to the advice of elders. I'm wondering if he is planning on setting the DA straight today? I just don't see him walking in, throwing himself on the mercy of authority and shutting up.
  12. I drove by the school and neighborhood sign a few days after the vandalism occurred. I was sickened. How dare they spray paint our beautiful campus. I never really liked the street painting. And I never questioned it. Ever time I drove across this intersection I had thoughts of stupid, immature and ugly. I personally know at least 2 on the school board and many in the Superior Court System. I have all the confidence in the world these leaders will access fair punishment for the vandalism that was applied to our community. I certainly hope these vandal's under class men are
  13. I've been trying to understand your statement. Wondering who's been forcing you to look at his work if you don't care for it? There are a few things I don't care for, and I turn around and look the other way whenever I encounter them. I don't like tomatoes and when someone has them on their plate, I just don't look at their plate. Just because we are sitting at the same table and they order a salad with extra tomatoes I don't feel they are making me look at their plate.
  14. I happened to run into one of the commissioners yesterday. He was as amused (or better word might be amazed) at the above comment as I was. He too quoted the current zoning was approved in 1991.
  15. This is real news. It's exciting to see the progress almost daily. Never forget if Jerry Sherain had been reelected this would still be vacant land and this hospital would be under construction on Jerry's land off Credarcrest and Seven Hills.
  16. Agreed. I'm wondering where they got facts that indicate or predict a Dollar General will pull down their property values? Several years ago the Dallas Wal-Mart was in the zoning process and people said the same thing. I have a copy of a recent re-finance appraisal where the proximity to nearby shopping is listed as a positive influence on my property value.
  17. Reading the previous post it sounds like the current zoning was approved about 20 years ago. I think that might have been voted on by Bobby Hollis, Roger Leggett and Mike Pope. So those have already been long gone.
  18. It will be interesting to hear when this property was zoned commercial. And if the zoning changed recently if the neighboring property owners were given an opportunity to provide their input. I sure thought zoning changes required a sign to be posted before the scheduled zoning hearing.
  19. I did a MapQuest of this property and it shows a marker for a Chevron gas station on this corner. If there was ever a Chevron here then this corner was already properly zoned. If a Chevron was never here I assume the zoning is correct, a Chevron was planned, permitted and it never got built. Looking at the layout of this property and your neighborhood, it appears to me this corner was always planned to be commercial. It is easy to go to the court house and find out when the zoning was approved. My gut feeling is you will find out this corner was planned to be commercial before or at
  20. Here above is the portion of the episode I intended to be responding too. On the subject of felonies. I do not think with the programs and systems already in place to help first time offenders avoid life time problems, such as pretrial deversion programs I really do not see these charges standing as felonies, unless someone already was on probation for earlier unrelated charges. Now I've been fairly open I think these young adults were stupid going out in the dark, dressed in black and committing these crimes. If one or more happen to already be on probation... Then in my opinion that pe
  21. Well said. I worry for some of these young adults. If they do something stupider later in life they are in for a rude awaking when Mommy & Daddy are not allowed by the legal system to bail them out again. When I was their age (18) I was just as stupid. I ignored all traffic laws and got too many tickets. The state took my drivers license for 1 solid year before they would give me a review hearing 100 miles away at the state capital. There 1 year later they gave me 1 point to drive on for 2 years after a 2 hour review hearing. That was over 40 years ago. The state did not give a ri
  22. Seems to me the seniors should have listened to this talk in April 2009, 2010 and 2011. Do they really deserve 4 warnings about what is a prank and what is not a prank? Also seems to me if any of these students really felt there was nothing wrong with what they were doing they would have not done it in the dark while dressed in black. I'm also guessing had anyone been caught painting the intersection in the past they would have been arrested by a Sheriff's Deputy. I just can't imagine a Deputy riding by in years past, seeing the street being painted and thinking that looks like really
  23. What do you believe? What are people asking me to BELIEVE, when they send me a little plat with the word BELIEVE in gold print? Do the people who do that honestly BELIEVE what it is they want me to BELIEVE? Actually you ask 3) different questions... I will give you my answer to the first question... "What do you believe?" I believe some people try to impress me by using big words and attempting to sound much more intelligent than they really are. When I run up on this type of person who I feel have a really high opinion of themselves, I zone them out.
  24. Trust me I know. You never have a worst day than picking out a casket for your child. I pray especially hard for this family and also for the family at EPMS.
