  1. "Neither pants, nor shirt, nor socks, nor boxer shorts, stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."
  2. Just voted. It was very simple to do. Will do it again tomorrow.
  3. Someone I know was given an envelope with an address on it in their newspaper. It was from the carrier and the name and address were his. It was an "invitation" to send him a Christmas gift, apparently. Do you give gifts or tips to your carriers/service people? One time I left a gift in my mailbox for the mail carrier and got a little thank you note. He retired and I've never really even seen the current carrier other than to watch her ride by, stop to deliver/collect the mail, then drive on. Frankly, her service hasn't been all that great with quite a few misdeliveries including a spe
  4. I agree with Redneckgirrrlll. Follow your instincts. Try a little cereal. I spent many nights sleeping in the recliner with a baby in my arms with pillows packed in around us. It was the only way I could get some decent sleep, wake up for 15 minutes to nurse and burp the baby and then both of us go back to sleep. I've also had all the kids sleeping in bed between me and my husband at some point. Don't worry about what others may think of your strategy...do what works for you.
  5. The Health Dept. will have the drawing from the septic tank installer with the county inspector's approval on it. It should be more accurate than the other.
  6. This may help: click on your screen name in the upper right hand corner box click "my settings" click "notification options" check the box "hide my email address" read through all the choices and choose those you want or don't want click "save" HINT: There may be better ways but I use an email address set up on one of the free hosting sites that I rarely check to sign up for sites like pcom and others. I have another email that I use for contact with people on pcom and other similar sites. I save my third and "real" email address for those I want to have personal contact with and
  7. Go to your profile through the link at the top right of the page. Find your numbers on the left and click on the words "warn status" and you'll see which mod posted along with their comments.
  8. http://www.ehow.com/how_117396_clear-clogged-plumbing.html Check this elsewhere but it's the first thing that came up on Google. Be sure to read the comments section.
  9. I really liked Dr. Loventhal, too. He moved to another practice close to Northside Hospital. He was great with asthma and allergy patients, especially. Dr. Cantrell is great, too, and I'm sorry to hear he's gone. I hope it is a good move for him. My sons appreciated seeing him for their annual checkups. I'm sure many teenage boys won't want to see a female doc for checkups. I don't want to move to the Marietta office that is further down Dallas Highway by Target and Home Depot.
  10. So who was it? There are several for burglary, receiving stolen property, etc.
  11. That it does. However, here's another link to a New York newspaper found with a simple search entitled "Chanukah Ham": http://www.nydailynews.com/lifestyle/food/2007/12/06/2007-12-06_balduccis_offers_ham_for_chanukah.html
  12. Snopes.com is your friend. While this photo is a real photo it was NOT taken at a Wal-Mart! It was taken at a grocery store in New York City in 2007. You've been fooled by someone. http://www.snopes.com/photos/signs/hanukkah.asp
  13. http://dlg.galileo.usg.edu/cgi-bin/vanga.cgi?query=id:cob073 See if this will open for you. I found it through Cobb's E-library. 14. I'm glad to see that. I wonder if as A.G. he'll pursue the matter further. I don't like this one bit...I've paid water/light bills to Cobb Water for many years and the rates have steadily increased. Now, I find out that the County has taken that money to use for other purposes which were not related to the cost of providing water/lights. With all that was taken, there could have been some great water projects completed...perhaps additional sewers run to the more rural parts of Cobb or resevoir work that might have alleviated some of the problems associated with the drought, or simply, wate
  15. I cant' find today's article in the online AJC. Do you have a link or maybe the correct title so I can search for it. There is also an issue with the Cobb Water Authority collecting a $3.50 street light fee for many years (I've paid it) as a separate line item on the water bill but transferring much of those monies to the general fund. I also noted that in January our water bills are scheduled to increase by 6%. I'm curious to read more and to follow this. Cobb HAD such a good reputation for handling the taxpayers' money. This is very disheartening. Sam Olens is now Georgia's Atto
  16. Will YOU see how each person answered or do you only get totals?
  17. We saw Harry Potter last weekend at Movies278...4 of us...$28 to get in and another $14.25 for a large popcorn and two large drinks to share between us, but we could refill all as much as we wanted. Of course, it's not that convenient to walk out of the movie to get refills but I did it twice for the popcorn. Also, they have the best popcorn flavoring that you can add yourself. Really the drinks were big enough that we didn't need refills. So, yeah, it was a $42.25 day at the movies.
  18. About 2 years ago, my neighbor, who was renting, came roaring through our average, suburban neighborhood on a dirt bike with the cops a ways back but coming after him. I looked out the window and saw him take off his helmet and jacket and toss it under his deck then run into the garage through a door. Right after that the cops showed up and walked around the house and knocked on the doors but the guy didn't come out. They found the jacket and helmet but just left it. A few more cop cars showed up and sat outside for an hour or more. Eventually, the cops left but for the next week they pat
  19. About $900 for a molar. Insurance covered about half. Takes about two weeks from start to finish.
  20. To narrow your search area, here is a link to the zoned map for McGarrity elementary. http://www.paulding.k12.ga.us/Zonemaps/08-09/McGarity_08-09.pdf I used Google maps and used the search term "home for rent" and then clicked on a few that came up on the map. You should also check the listings against a real estate "FOR SALE" site to see what the history of the property is. e.g. the first listing below also shows up as being for sale. I did not check the others. http://www.trulia.com/property/3023812120-520-Powder-Mill-St-Dallas-GA-30157 It really would be beneficial to work with an
  21. We use Lee Dentistry on Macland Road and when you call their office you can get a number for emergencies. It might be worth a try. If you can't be seen by a dentist today, he should consider going to the ER. Abcesses on upper teeth can break into the sinus cavities and even the brain if untreated. He likely needs antibiotics soon. 2176 Macland Road Dallas, GA 30157-5190 (770) 445-1081 http://www.leefamilydental.com/ http://www.medicinenet.com/abscessed_tooth/article.htm "An abscessed tooth is a painful infection at the root of a tooth or between the gum and a tooth. 22. Saw her near Walmart in Hiram about two weeks ago. She was on the sidewalk near the McDonald's and Walmart singing and doing her thing. Haven't seen her since.
  23. Most of the black Friday ads can be found here: http://bfads.net/Adscans
  24. Sorry for your losses, it really does stink. I gotta ask though...why do y'all leave valuable items in an unlocked or even locked car? I always bring my things into the house because I regularly read stories like these.
  25. Sean Young just finished a run as Meggie on The Young and The Restless.
