  1. Know what day it is??? HUMP DAY!! I giggle every time I see it although I've seen it a hundred times. I also love the turtle family being soooooo slooooowwww. But, I can't tell ya if they are advertising Xfinity or making fun of it. So I guess it wasn't very effective. Of course the Budweiser Clydesdale commercials are always my favorites. Especially the one for this years Super Bowl where the colt is born and grows up to leave home to be a Bud Clydesdale. But, he hasn't forgotten his buddy. :::snifflesniffle::: I am in the minority here bc the AT&T commercials with the little
  2. Where is there still a Winn Dixie around here??
  3. True. The Judge will talk to the child in chambers for his/her input as to what is going on in each home and which parent/why he/her would like to live with. That information is taken into consideration with everything else provided to the court but does not guarantee the child will automatically live with the parent of choice.
  4. When DS was in HS and they would hear sirens or a rumor of something happening in the County he would tell his teacher "If you will let me call my Mom I can find out what is going on. She is always on paulding.com and she will know." 'Nuff Said I have never been on a Patch site and although I've heard about them I wouldn't know where to find it or anything else about it.
  5. DONE! God knows the need and will hear our prayers. (((HUGS)))
  6. When I was a Junior in HS a good friend and band mate of mine announced at the Spring Band Concert that she was pregnant and had married her HS Sweetheart. They had to keep it a secret until after the concert because without the band credit she wouldn't have been able to graduate HS. This was in 1972. (Times were very different then and girls couldn't be in school if they were pregnant.) Everyone was aware they were sexually active but the announcement still came as a surprise. Several of my friends married their HS Sweethearts after graduating from HS or College. The funny thing is this coupl
  7. We REALLY miss David's Lemon Pepper wings at The Dugout. He would cook them just like we liked them. With that said, now when we get wings we do Taco Mac or Buffalo's Southwest Wings.
  8. I haven't noticed the place nor have gotten a coupon for it. But, we are just the opposite and like our wings dry and crispy. We moved our family here in 1996 after living in Alabama all our lives. We ended up in Paulding County quite by accident. We got the Douglas Sentinel because we intended to be in Douglas County hence close to I-20 and easy access to Alabama. But, the directions brought us to Paulding County and once we got to the house it was perfect. We have been happy and enjoyed living here. But, we dream of going back to Alabama one day. It IS Sweet Home Alabama!!
  9. The couple that were renting it bought storage units. They sold a little bit of everything and I do mean EVERYTHING!!! Yes and he really thought he was going to get it, too!!
  10. The recommendations I would have are on the South Side and in Surfside. When I saw you were going to House of Blues I knew you wouldn't want to stay at those. We prefer the South end to the North end but it is just a personal preference. We have stayed in North Myrtle Beach and stayed at the Hilton. I wouldn't recommend it tho. They do have some GREAT restaurants up there, too. Myrtle Beach is my FAVORITE place on earth. ENJOY!!!
  11. You would be disappointed. Or at least I was ~ it wasn't ANYTHING that I expected and far from a "mansion". The floor plan was ridiculous and not livable friendly. The price they were asking was WAY over what it was worth IMO. Not to say that much wasn't spent on it but it was money wasted. I imagine that is why it never sold for anything other than to be bulldozed.
  12. The mother of s dear friend from HS was killed in a car accident Friday night. We were in Heflin, AL all day for the funeral and visiting with another friend who came into town for the funeral. Her sister cooked dinner for us: Fried chicken Fresh Medley of fried okra, onion and squash Fresh fried sweet corn Boiled red potatoes Sliced tomatoes Fresh Field Peas Cantaloupe Cornbread Homemade vanilla ice cream with topping of chocolate syrup or strawberry or both YUMMMMMMMM
  13. Sounds good. We had dumplins' too but ours were chicken 'n dumplins just the way we like 'em - light and fluffy. Fried green tomatoes and sliced red tomatoes thanks to a good friend bringing us some out of her garden. Butter/parsley red potatoes, Cole Slaw and Cornbread rounded out the dinner. Then Blue Bell vanilla ice cream topped with fresh peaches for dessert. WHEW ~ I am stuffed!
  14. We typically eat around 8'ish if not later. We tend to eat breakfast around noon and skip lunch by just having a late afternoon snack. If we eat dinner early we are starving before bedtime. I grew up with Breakfast, Lunch and Supper but now we usually say Dinner in place of Supper but the other two remain the same. We still find ourselves saying Supper from time to time. Old habits die hard!
  15. Michelle Stafford is reportedly leaving the show to explore other possibilities with her career and spend more time with her child. So, she will die eventually. I believe she will wake up long enough to tell what she knows but no one will believe her. Paul will find out Sharon was in the stairwell from the DNA on Sharon's lipstick she left behind. The possibility of Phyllis telling the truth will bear on Nick and eventually he will have the paternity tests done again. Too many people have been hurt by Sharon's fraud and the truth has to come out. As for Phyllis' character here is ano

  17. Cassie is DEAD so she won't be an on going story line. She has always come "back" from time to time for Sharon & Nick to talk to. This stint was for like 2 days only.
  18. ME TOOOOOOO. Prior to reading the entire thread but after seeing the name of the person arrested I had googled for current posts. I KNEW that guy was arrested years ago. Plus, I was watching the noon news and nothing was said abut an arrest. It would be Headline news IF it were true.
  19. YES, YES, YES!!! The fleas have been HORRIBLE this year on our dachshunds. Especially for Saban who is an English Cream. He has a soft, light blonde coat and it seems the fleas are attracted to it. Krimson is a long hair chocolate/tan and she has had a lot too but not near as many as Saban. Then we have Snickers who is a short hair chocolate/tan and his coat is course and he doesn't have any!!! DH bathes them with Dawn and learned how to do it correctly by lathering at the neck and working down the back. It prevents the fleas from gathering around the eyes. This week he is going to put Borax M
  20. I agree 110%!!! Absolutely the BEST ribeye steak in the county.....or surrounding counties for that matter. And, I feel the same way about the Brunswick Stew. YUMMMMMM.
  21. I've heard they are really good. We tried to go one time but they weren't open.
  22. What Paulding County does IS considered "Year Around School" in many states. There is no such thing as a 3 month summer vacation anymore. The State BOE requires a specific number of days students be in class per year. It is up to the individual County BOE to determine how that requirement is met. They start back to school August 1st then will be out a week for Fall Break 9/23/2013 - 9/27/2013. Then they are out for Thanksgiving Break to return to school until Thanksgiving Break 11/25/2013 - 11/29/2013. Christmas Break is 12/23/2013 - 1/2/2014. Then they have Winter Break is sometime in Fe
  23. I don't have an answer for you but I've cooked them several times recently and they have been DELISH. The perfect combination of cornmeal/flour coating, crispy and tart. HUMMMMM. Might put it on the menu for tonight?? We love Fried Green Tomatoes and take advantage of them being available this time of year.
  24. Intense fire and could not get the middle exit doors open to use slides. Fire continues in cabin. As many as 451 passengers could have been aboard. Not sure all passengers got out. Reported on CNN.
