  1. The socks do NOT match each other and neither sock matches the outfit.
  2. You say you have an easy peach recipe. Being easy it is probably the one cup recipe Blondiega1 posted. I put a stick of butter in my pan and let melt in the oven. Then I mix 1 cup each: sugar, flour and milk Pour mixture into hot melted butter Pour in 1 cup fruit (I typically use canned peaches w/juice but I have used thawed frozen strawberries, blueberry or apple pie filling)
  3. THANK YOU for all the hands-on information. We have applied for passports but due to the shutdown fear they may not arrive prior to our ship date of November 11th. I believe we both have BC with raised seal but if not it is no problem. We can go to the health dept. in Cleburne County, AL just across the state line. Both of us were born in AL. We have photo ID DL. So seems we are good to go. It is a short loop cruise for the purpose of spending time with Wade and seeing his shows and how he is living during this 8 month contract with Royal Caribbean. We will depart and return to Miami. It
  4. I agree.....this IS a duck!! The police searched the same yard TWICE before finding her the 3rd time searching the property. HOW did an 18 month old get out of the house to begin with late at night? As far as an attorney nothing fishy there, tho. Regardless of age when DFCS became involved the mother was given representation by the Courts to represent HER interest. I am not surprised a bit the attorney would advise her to keep her mouth shut. Talking tends to lead to talking too much which tends to get words twisted and finding herself in big trouble trying to talk herself out of trou
  5. (1) Is the passport office one of the government offices on shutdown? (2) Is a passport required to get in Nassau, Bahamas from a cruise ship? I have read conflicting information when googled online. Some sites say a passport is required and others say it is preferred but verification of US Citizenship is accepted in place of passport. (3) What would be accepted as verification of US Citizenship? I apologize for being so ignorant but I am frustrated from getting conflicting info and thought maybe some seasoned traveler might know first hand. TIA.
  6. Unfortunately these problems are not exclusive to this month nor to just Cobb County.
  7. The 6:00 news reported Julio is going to Charlotte tomorrow for a 2nd opinion before having surgery. Makes me SICK! His play is exciting and I agree with another poster that the players over compensate for lack of some others and end up getting hurt. And, Ryan WILL get seriously hurt with NO line to protect him. Such a waste. POOR TONY!
  8. DH and I determined when we went to K-Mart last week that the only reason it is still open is as a tax write-off as a loss. Although we continue to shop there and will miss it when the day eventually comes. We are not among the thongs and don't shop Wal-Mart. The most recent list of K-Mart stores closing did not include Hiram.
  9. THANK YOU. DH was saying there is a new International terminal. Some friends on FB told me about the cell parking lot. He is supposed to call me when he lands BUT......I don't think the security folks are gonna want us to be on the curb for extended and screaming hugs!!!! The GRANDdaughters and his two Best Friends are going with us too. So, gonna be a whole lotta hugging going on.
  10. I knew we couldn't get to the gate that is why I wondered WHERE to go? I am thinking baggage claim but will call Delta tomorrow. YES I AM VERY, VERY EXCITED!!!
  11. Wade is flying into ATL tomorrow from London on Delta. Where should we plan to meet him? I know the restrictions about non-flyers being in/around the airport is strict since 9/11. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Ohhhhhhh and did I mention how excited this Mom is???? He has seen some of the most BEAUTIFUL places there is to see in this world. BUT, there is NO place like home! It's been a long time since he left April 24th!!!
  12. Let me add that last year I did get C Strain of the flu even after getting the flu shot. I was hospitalized but with my medical history that always happens with any illness. But, the doctor said although I tested positive for the flu it was a mild case and wasn't near as bad as it would have been without the shot. I know for a fact of two friends who had it and they were extremely sick for 3 weeks.
  13. Of Course ~ One of the exciting things about snow in Alabama. Milk, sugar and a hint of vanilla. Sweet Memories! I've had the store bought Snow Cream and it's pretty good, too.
  14. Glad y'all are having a fun, uneventful week!! I concur. I'm not sure if the Black Bear Jamboree is still there - I don't remember seeing it when we were there in Dec. But it is a fun show with excellent Country cookin'.
  15. We LOVE Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. I actually lived there in my "former life" and owned an embroidery/monogramming business on Ober Gatlinburg. More recently for several years we went to PF every March for Wade to compete in an International Competition for singers and entertainers. Our favorite places to eat in Gatlinburg are the Pancake Pantry but if you go in the peak of Fall/Color season or holiday it is a long wait. We went the week between Christmas and New Years this past year and stood in line over 2 hours! The absolute best place to go for a steak dinner is The Peddler. You can as
  16. I was going to post about this too. He said it is the first time Kyron's Mother and Father have spoken in 3 years since he went missing. Should be interesting.
  17. Growing up my Mother always got the flu shot and every year said it gave her the flu. But, she continued to get it bc the doctor said it was was lighter version of what she would have gotten without the flu. As a result I never intended to get one. Several years ago when I told my doctor I didn't want it he said "ok, but, IF you get the flu you will die." Needless to say I get the flu shot every year. The year they ran out I went to Anniston, AL to get one as it was the closest I could find it. After my kidney transplant I basically do not have an immune system. I have never had any type of re
  18. I agree with you. I don't crochet but have friends who do and you are right. To pay someone to make something is very cost prohibitive. $200 would be a good price for this piece based on what I've seen some folks charge at craft shows.
  19. Confirmation McDonald's @ intersection of Macland Road/Merchants Drive/Dallas across from Ingles/Big Lots is on fire! Several fire trucks on scene and one has the ladder stretched onto the roof. Police have the area blocked off. We live right down the street about 4 blocks from there. Hate it for the employees.
  20. YEP and YEP. Bet he will be glad when this week is O-V-E-R!!!!! Things always come in 3's.
  21. Kroger will find themselves losing a LOT of customers. Their 10/10 and BOGO will be their main source of drawing folks and it takes a lto of $1.00's to add up!!
  22. We went to Vincent's about 3 years ago and it was decent. The price wasn't outta sight because we went for the Early Bird Special.hey don't let you order off the regular menu and the Early Bird is limited. (or at least that is how it worked then) But, it in no way compares to Scalini's. We keep saying we are going back there but just haven't. Italian isn't on the top of our list of restaurants to go out to. We enjoy my Italian cooking as well as anywhere. So, we spend our $$ on a good hunk of beef generally.
  23. There is good reason to be cautious and concerned when dealing with people on Craigslist. However, there ARE good and honest people legitimately trying to sell items or buy a good deal. I would never go to someone's home nor have them come into mine off off there. BUT.....many of you have been to my home and shopped for sports apparel and I had no idea who you were or what your intentions were. The guy who was shot a week or so ago was looking for trouble when he agreed to meet the guy on a dark street. He went bc he had a gun and was going to protect his Grandson. Common sense goes a lon
