Indulge me in a single ladies "woohoo!", please...
GipperGirl replied to GipperGirl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You just said it ALL Dont ever settle again!!! I made the same vow to myself and I refuse to settle for anything less than what makes me happy....ecstatic even. This does that for me now and THAT in and of itself makes me so happy and lets me know that I have already travelled a VERY long and unbelievably painful road to get here. I read Eat, Pray, Love many years ago when it first came out and so wanted THAT sort of freedom. I now have that and it sounds like you do as well. This is living. -

HA! I love that and you are so right! We are!I get what you're saying 100%. I have really enjoyed a lot of the "being single" elements but hands down, and by FAR, the best is....I CAN DO WHAT I WANT AND HAVE TO CONSULT WITH ?????....ummmmm, hello? NO ONE! I was hitched for almost 2 decades so this was a huge event for me to do now. I did enjoy renting for a few years til now though. I got every cent out of the sidewalks, parks and swimming pools that my neighborhood had, as a renter. It let me rest my mind and my soul, really. I didnt have to worry about the upkeep, wear and tear, emergenci -
I think that is awesome. You DESERVE a break and they need to fend for themselves on occasion so they appreciate what you do! Leftovers do so much good in so many ways . Those are my "paint my toes, color my hair and watch Bravo with a couple glasses of good wine" nights .

Thank you, Shoog(that's your name in my best southern, waffle house twang) . well, I dont even know what THAT means ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ -
about to close on my first house as a non-married chick(been a few years now)and I could not be happier! Buying it in a short sale so the stress has been even worse than just buying a house.... . This economy does have it's perks here and there, like cheap real estate.

Any bartender(like myself ) would give that collection a hearty "cheers"! Wow, good for Moose .

LadyR...I HATE wasting anything as well! I LOVE going to the fridge in need of a good snack, etc and realizing there are some YUMMY leftovers there just waiting for me! My friends tease me about the food I take home in a box(or three). I've been known to take 1/4 of a salad and 4 bites of soup home more than once . Tonight I made chicken tenderloins pan fried(I dip them in either ranch or honey mustard dressing then coat in bread crumbs....easy and so good), mashed potatoes and my stolen Red Lobster garlic-cheese biscuit recipe. Thursday night is "eat what ya like" around here so calo

You make excellent points. I agree totally.

I think I came by being pretty danged patient from my Dad. Situations that I see others blowing up about, honestly, I wouldnt even notice(eg. traffic, bad drivers, etc.). However, there are DEFINTELY a few things that make my blood boil and in a hurry. One of my oldest and best friends is a mother of 6(yes, all the same baby-daddy.....rare these days, huh?). When I'm with her I feel like the most impatient person in all the world! A few years ago, one of her girls, on a busy Saturday, kept making multiple trips inside the house with a little beach bucket....back and forth for hours(they

Surepip, I wish you the very best. Just imagine, one day in the near future, you and your family will wake up in the morning, rub your eyes and find your slippers only to realize.....the danged thing is finally over! I commend you for hanging in there and suffering through oh-SO-typical government BS . I dont know if I would have had the willpower, patience and a sound mind(at this point) to do the same. I hope your family gets EVERY PENNY you deserve and I honestly do pray that your tenacity to do what is right will be multiplied back to you a hundred times and then some. Give 'em he

Ms. Jessie update - for those who wish to know
GipperGirl replied to HawkeyeAngel's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well said and I agree. I love Ms Jessie and it makes me angry and very sad to hear that someone hurt her. I have called her in her room a couple of times and we had a great time talking on the phone. She seems to really love the fact that people DO care about her and call to send their love and support. -
I cant believe its been 2 yrs either. I love MJ. I listen to him at least a little bit almost everyday. I'm a die-hard fan. Nobody can dance like him and there will never be another.

I know! How crazy is that? I agree completely.

Looking for a cool family friendly place to eat

Where I served for two years and miss it terribly! Elevation Chophouse at McCollum Airport in Kennesaw. You are in a former hanger directly on the runway. The food is FANTASTIC and is served up by a full time executive chef(Richard Blaze from Top Chef worked there and created the original menu.) They use a real wood fire grill and have kid friendly food also. They have live music upstairs on Fri and Sat nights. It's so worth going! The filet with Oscar sauce(hollandiase with lump crab), wood grilled salmon or shrimp and grits are the best! About the same $ as Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse. -
I love the Olive Tree. I soo much prefer a local non-chain anyday and they have gotten it right everytime with me. Great atmosphere, close to home(for you...not for me anymore ) and original food. Classics, I mean, but with their spin...not the same ol same ol you find at Red Lobster, Olive Garden, etc.

I have always been very consistent in the belief that if you can honestly make a baJILLION dollars then good for you! Rake it in, I say! You obviously have something the others do not or you just decided to do something with an idea and let the naysayers ramble on. Postman, I DO see your point and I hope you know how much I truly do respect your opinions. Not saying youre wrong here at all because again I can see where you get your ideas. Anyone with passion and zeal, like yourself, I admire and respect no matter if we agree or disagree. VERY few have those qualities anymore. I do however t

Yep, agreed! And St Andrews to snorkel is great. Also, Capt Andersons Imperial Grouper and She Crab Soup is one of my all time favorite dishes and appetizer. If you love to cook, pick up their cookbook. I have used it for many years now and love it. I'm not a huge PCB fan but only because I prefer a quieter beach. But I do have to hit PCB at least one day each time I'm in the area(few times a year).

Wow, Bwitchy. I can relate to a few hilarious date stories. I think a lot of it is about learning to ask the right questions very early in the "getting to know you" process. I think those questions are pretty different for everybody depending on what's important to you. While at the same time, there are some questions you cant really just come right out and ask on the first date or even the first couple dates, unless you want them to sprint out of the restaurant. But, you CAN learn how to get the clues you need so that you dont waste your time. As far as when? I think it depends on each pe

I am all for less spending and way less government. However, I do believe that it is a very positive and necessary thing for the President to present himself and our country well to the rest of the world. I think that having a First Lady like Michelle is extrememly beneficial to the way the world see's and reacts to us.

My thoughts exactly but my brother said that depending on the problem, sometimes a cranio-spinal surgeon can be better if it deals more directly with nerves and not only bone. But again, I have total faith in my ortho dr. He has helped me to prolong surgery by educating me on excercise and basically just how to "baby" my bad discs. He also referred me to a pain management dr. that has been great, too. He was the God-send that first introduced me to a non-narcotic daily pain med. Epidurals have helped also. Cortisone does just that and really hurts as much as it helps in most cases.

Agreed. I remember my teen years when I would stay up all night(or close to it), get up and go all day like it was nothing. That was a LOOOOOONG time ago. Now, I do the adding up of the hours I get to sleep everynight. Most nights I stare into space for what seems like an eternity before FINALLY falling asleep a few hours before I have to be up.

I have one and it has defintely helped my back pain. I have 2 degenerated discs. It is small enough that I can actually wear it while I work in the salon if I'm having a rough day. Otherwise, I wear it at home a few hours and it really does help a lot. My insurance covered all but about $25 of it, I think. Oh, sorry, I didnt realize you were referring to the implanted one. I dont have that one but my dr. really wanted me to try mine and it has been a wonderful thing.
