  1. I enjoy few things more than coming home from a loooong day of making people pretty while standing on my feet all day(a.k.a. "making women happy about their image all day-everyday...oh yeah, it IS an art....or insanity ...suicide maybe ? )/ Anyway, this is one of my favorite crock pot recipes. How could you EVER go wrong with fresh herbs in the heat of summer? I served this with a small, simple spinach salad with sliced roma tomatoes, 2-3 small slices goat cheese and vinagrette. Thought I would share. Share your favorites! Slow cooked Chicken breasts with fresh Herb
  2. I do agree and I realize it is a completly differnt demographic from my industry(for the most part anyway). I just have a hard time believing that anyone or any group "planned" for Joe to have the impact that he has had. Lots of good marketing, planning and luck.
  3. I'm not convinced that the Joe Camel cartoon was given THAT much consideration. I mean, as far as using it to focus on younger smokers. Honestly, I have a hard time believing that anyone could have come up with a scheme THAT well planned and executed....soley aimed at underagers. Not to say it wasnt at least part of the master plan when Joe was conceived but I'm just sayin' who could have known then where the tabacco industry would go and who to REALLY focus on. Personally, in my biz(salon/spa industry), I have never focused on teens or even college kids because...well, they don't have the
  4. and AMEN! Then there's the sick couple that did the same thing to Elizabeth Smart. I'd like to force that man to wear a $#@! burka(like the ones he forced her to wear), drop him down into a prison like San Quentin. Then let the inmates do what they will with him.
  5. I did the same exact thing. I could not let my mind wander too far into the "what if's". When Susan Smith drowned both of her boys by running her car into a lake with the boys seatbelted in, it was almost too much for me at the time. Her "Alex" was born on the very same day as mine. WAY too close to home just hearing the details. Obviously, I wasnt afraid of doing what she did, but it seriously ripped my heart out considering the similarities in our boys and hearing the horrific details. Cases like Jaycee just make me thankful all over again that I was blessed with the life I have had. I ca
  6. I make a spice-seared, rare tuna(red in the middle, seared on the outside)over a bed of arugula, radishes, fresh grated parmesan and a citrus vinagarette that I make from scratch(its easy). I like arugula every way Ive had it so far, though.
  7. I looked forward to watching for 2 weeks. What an amazing woman and family. I also was so impressed at how well spoken she is with so little education. I kept listening to the different dates they mentioned replaying what I was doing in my own life on those dates. It's unimaginable to think that while we were all living our lives, she was there the whole time living in the hell these two demented, evil people created. And the 60 police visits? Ugh, makes me sick. I could give some of those visits a pass but once they got word that he spent more time in his "shop" in his backyard than anyw
  8. www.CrunchyBetty.com Just click and read....I use this site ALL the time for eco-friendly, VERY useful products(they have recipes with essential oils that smell great) that save a ton of jack....
  9. As a professional with 18 yrs in this business, I strongly suggest that in ANY cosmetic procedure you go to the BEST no matter how inconvenient. It is so worth a little extra time and money. Concerning hair removal, skin peels, Botox...ANY and EVERY treatment, you should always do your research(thats what youre doing here) and go to the most reputable, no matter what. Believe me, WHO does it is EVERY bit as important as WHAT they do. There are many differences in every procedure depending on who does it. It is NOT all "step 1,2,3, done". My advice is to consult Atlanta Magazine. It is a wo
  10. Such a good point. I was really hoping they would not come back with a hung jury. OMG, can you imagine? IDK, maybe it would've been a positive move. Only God knows. As nauseating as it is, I read from a few sources that more than one media outlet offered her an exclusive hotel suite the first night she's out. Maybe she will stumble upon Cayless murderer in the jacuzzi, the honor bar or maybe, just maybe, it'll be the room service deliverer . Maybe the luxury hotel salon will do something with her desolate, kniving, "all used up", completely soul-less look she's rockin' . I can
  11. I know. All those years of private school tuition that my dear parents sacrificed .
  12. For YEARS all I see is FISH THE NECK and get a strange mental picture of fishing for a,,,,neck? It's not you Fish, it's me .
  13. Attorney Marcia Clarke suggests that when juries are sequestered and even though they are not supposed to talk about the case, there are subtle and not so subtle ideas, beliefs and opinions that filter through the body of the jury. As in life, the stronger personalities usually become the "leaders" and become the "voice" for the jury making it very easy for the less dominate and opinionated to make a truly independent decision.
  14. I firmly believe in the power of prayer. I will add this family to the list. Please update when you can. This is one of my favorite verses..."the prayer of a righteous man availeth much." That's a promise.
  15. I still do have faith in our system. Our legal system and the Supremem Court is one of the ONLY systems in this country that has retained at least some sense of justice and at least an EFFORT to abide by the parameters that our Forefathers left for us. But, I'm with you, Blondie. It IS very scary to consider after cases like this one. Knowing that as easily as a guilty murderer can walk, an innocent person can just as easily be sent to their death or a life in prison.
  16. Wow. Thank you for sharing that. I had never even considered "brainwashing" in reguards to a jury(especially a sequestered one) til this case. You have hit the nail on the head. It's very scary to think that any of us could possibly fall into the hands of a "brainwashed" jury when our life and future is at stake. I know that a portion of it is only human nature though and no matter how one may try, it will be there to a small degree, anyway. But, I, like you, also thought right after the verdict that they HAD to be tired, homesick, ready to sleep in their own bed and get back to work and
  17. Good idea. I also heard one of the States attorneys saying that he believes there is a huge issue with the jury "brainwashing" one another if they are sequestered for a long period of time(more than a couple weeks). I think he has a great point. I also read where attorney Marcia Clarke(O.J trial) say that sequestering a jury creates problems just like this one, where the jurors over-analyzed the "reasonable doubt" statement. They have stated that they could not come to a guilty verdict if they "didnt know exactly what Casey did to Caylee". But Fl law says they could have lawfully convicte
  18. ugh, thats always such a letdown when you're wanting a good summer storm and need the rain. What a tease .
  19. "The first vote was 10-2 against first-degree murder. The vote on Tuesday was 6-6 for manslaughter. Arguments grew heated and a jury foreman calmed them all down, Juror No. 2 told the paper. The jurors who opposed the manslaughter charge believed that no one could say who was Caylee's caretaker - the mother or the grandparents - when the child actually died. By lunch Tuesday, the guilty side started to lose votes, and Casey was found not guilty on all charges related to her daughter's death." -from Crimesider CBS News in an interview with Juror #2 and #3 So many ways to try and
  20. A nice storm is brewing outside. I'm on the Ga./Fl. line. I have been very surprised about the lack of rain in the few months I've been here. So, I'm loving this .
  21. Awwww....Lucky, thanks ! If it aint fun, I aint interested .
  22. I'll soon be 39 and I definitely love, love, LOVE skirts and dresses. I wear them at least 5 days a week. I'm short so I always have to hem pants and shorts do NOT flatter me...I hate 'em on me. I dont have any true mini-skirts for summer(I like a little more length with bare legs....but still above the knee). However, I LOVE mini-skirts in the Fall and Winter paired with cute colored or textured tights and to the knee boots with a high heel. I think there is definitely a cut, fit and length that works for every woman. The key to always looking great in your clothes, no matter what
