GipperGirl replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Hey my friend, Postman! AHHHHHHHHHH! A Buck stove! SO the way to go! It'll keep you and yours warm all night in the coldest winter once you get a good, really hot fire burnin . It has the potential to run ya right out of the house, really....to cool off... . Stick it to the shady, greedy government and do it yourself, Postman! Major props from GipperGirl! -

GipperGirl replied to GipperGirl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well, if youre a single dude, I KNOW you have a box of some sort of Little Debbies, a lone bottle of ketchup, 3 packs of ramen noodles(I'm betting the beef variety ), 4 slices of a dry, leftover delivered pizza with the toppings now shrunken to look like it has laid in the sun 36 hours, 2 frozen "Gino's" pizza's, a few cold beers, some old soy sauce packets and a few pieces of american cheese "cheese-PRODUCT" and nothing green whatsoever except for the mold on the paper dish of mac and cheese from 2 weekends ago that still has 2 1/2 bites left(sorta )in kitchen. I say, GET CREATIVE! -

I like Paulas recipes and I'm about to look for and save her recipe for that sauce. But,I cannot stand her over-done, superhyperoverthetopremindusevery39seconds very Southern drawl so I cannot watch her on tv . 'Scuse me...I gotta go get one more late night bourbon BBQ rib . Oh, sorry, didnt mean to be rude ...ya want me to throw one up thatta way? -
I certainly know the feeling of anticipating seeing the movie AFTER reading a really good book and then being letdown so many times. Seems they are never as good as the book. I am an avid reader but didnt read "Lincoln Lawyer". I've actually been trying to catch up with the rest of the world and was in the midst of a Harry Potter marathon . I just saw the movie this past week(theres a $2 theatre way down South here ). I really liked it. I thought it was very "Grisham-esque" with the exception of not being set in the South. But, again, the book is almost always better than any movie.

I made the best bourbon BBQ sauce this morning. Cooked some meaty beef ribs in it alllllllllllll day long on very low heat while freshly picked acre peas simmered in the crock pot in chicken broth and a huge Vidalia onion all day . Made some yeast rolls I had started early this a.m. after the gym this afternoon(haha...sounds ironic, huh? but true) and oh, wow! It was a HIT! Do you have a favorite BBQ sauce? ANY sauce or mariande? SHARE!

You're awesome . How 'bout you take my bite tomorrow then? If there is any left. I like it COLD . You know, I really wanted to make banana pudding tonight but I dont have the right ingredients. Kinda ironic that you mentioned it. Think of Gipper... . And, yes, please take the calories outta my couple bites. GREAT idea, Mrs G. The gym 6 days a week is already kickin' my Pollock hinney .

Oh, HECK YEAHHHHH! on the Elvis channel! LOVE IT!!!

I am totally hooked on I HEART Radio. I listen through my dock/IPhone. I have the 24/7 comedy channel on at least a few hours a day....especially when I'm in the kitchen(which is alot !). I also love the news/talk channels(I listen to Orlando, Fl. the most)....also, NPR , hip/hop, bluegrass and southern gospel . Hey, I'm an eclectic chick! What can I say ?! What's your favorite channel?
-
See? You dudes need to lay it on thick about now . When you see her tomorrow look all shocked, PAUSE(important, the pause!) and tell her...."WOW! I have NO idea what youre doing...I dont understand all that "girl stuff" but YOU LOOK SEXY(beautiful, hot, soooooooooooo good)!". You may feel goofy but if you make it sound genuine, it will score you MAJOR points. THEN, in a few hours, mention the banana pudding. She will remember...trust me! I'm tellin ya, that crap goes a long way with us. Just sayin' . And oh yeah, you're welcome... .

HOLY CRAP! N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!!!! Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I LOVE this thread................... but I HATE GADGETS! Hate! HATE! LOOOOOOATHE! Deep, firey, VENGEFUL sort of HATE! Cheesey upon cheesey! Dopey, meaningless, hard to clean, taking up good space that Heinkel,Wusthof,Noritake,DeLonghi, Williams-Sonoma, and Kitchen Aid could be enjoying  ! Oh, the humanity! OMG...if you love me then you already know....DO NOT BRING ANY SORT OF GADGET into my sacred kitchen!!!! Bring a nice candle or a bottle of cheap wine. ANYTHING but a gadget. Hope I -
...and I have no idea why. I love to cook! The later at night the better! Now, who exactly is going to eat all this yummy stuff ? I'm talkin' some REALLY yummy food here. Just give me some cleaning supplies (actually, I make my own and THEY ARE AWESOME! ), food and an even half-way decent kitchen and I'm one HAPPY Chick . Throw in a glass of good vino and even BETTER . Therapy ? I know. Cant afford it . So, what makes YOU a Nightowl?

What's your current favorite "busy work week" recipe?
GipperGirl replied to GipperGirl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My Mama raised me right and taught me that the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. -
Good grief Lady! Put those tired feet up and the AC on "blizzard"!!! I'm in northern Fl. It is a CONSTANT 10 degrees at the very least above what I'm used to in the Atl. Just dang. On the upside...this red hair has never curled up more 'ringlet-y'! Hey, you take what you can get. I like that. I say we all work the word "twain" into our daily vocab. Awesome .

What's your current favorite "busy work week" recipe?
GipperGirl replied to GipperGirl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm a member and just had that one emailed to me. Sounds REALLY good and just my speed. I used to make one similar to that and cut up or tore strips of flour tortillas and quickly pan fried them in a little olive oil as a crunchy garnish....ooohhhh, and I'm thinking some freshly chopped cilantro, too . Thanks for sharing! OH! And a SOUR CREAM DOLLOP! -

How Do You Trust A Camel With Cancer Of The Hump?
GipperGirl replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Actually, I think I have heard about the lipstick but had forgotten about it. Although it is a horrible product and pretty immoral, in my opinion, to market something fatal as if it's not, marketing in and of itself and the science behind it is very interesting to me. Sort of scary at times but interesting. -
How Do You Trust A Camel With Cancer Of The Hump?

You know, I'm a pretty die-hard Libertarian, Postman. I am always in favor of individual rights. If what he's doing doesnt affect me in a negative way, why do I want to restrict him? HOWEVER, smoking in public is no different that someone sitting next to you in a nice restaurant, chewing up their perfect filet mignon, turning in your direction and spewing partially chewed meat all over you. Smoking definitely affects other people and their health. Who cares if they smoke? NOT ME. But, do not burden me or my family's health because of your disgusting habit. -
How Do You Trust A Camel With Cancer Of The Hump?
GipperGirl replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well, that makes a lot of sense. I can definitely believe and see the sexual innuendo(now that you mention it). I guess, since I've never smoked or had friends who smoked(we went to very strict private schools. If anyone was caught ANYWHERE smoking, lude behavior, etc. they were gone and with a quickness), I just sort of overlooked Joe and other cig ads. Then, not THAT long after my teen years , they were pretty much banned. But, it is really disgusting to think that tobacco companies knew the dangers of smoking and zeroed in on the youngest and most impressionable market....only to hook -
I would call Johnboy first! He's a very good guy and I know LOTS of people in PC and beyond that use him.
