Anyone else having issues with Comcast Internet?
confederaterose replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
No problems at all. I did get a call from Comcast a few months ago that if I did not upgrade my modem that I would have serious problems with the internet. They left a number to call and have the new modem sent to my house. They did sent a new modem and no problems at all. -
There is a man on 92 between 120 and 278 that has a large corn field, and I must say, the best white field corn. His may already be gone. When we bought some from him about 2 weeks ago, he said it was all coming in at the same time.

My friend that lives on Polk Street, Marietta, in one those old homes that is just so pretty has tons of antiques. He told me he had an appraiser come out and appraise a few things. He said it was just so expensive that he cut them off at $1,000. I cannot remember the rate he told me; but, he did say it was a set fee up front and then so much an hour. If you want to know more about appraiser, PM me and I will call him and get details for you.

My mother who was 85 at the time, the pain only lasted about a day. On the other hand, my DH's pain lasted about 6 weeks. The difference was Mom had Gallstones. DH's gallbladder was dead and gangrene had already set in. So, I guess it depends on the situation.

Thank God you beat me. I have only had 7. Of course, the day is not over. 6 of them were from Jack Kingston, Friends of Jack Kingston and on and on. It makes me sick.

Since they stopped selling them on the street corner, I did get their special offer of home delivery for Sunday only for $1 per week. I took the 52 week offer, as a sure they will have another ploy when this special expires.

It's time to start shopping. Wonder how she got her GA Insurance License, which is a state requirement, if she cannot speak or comprehend English?

You sometime have to pay more than asking to get the bid. It was well worth what we paid and we made major, major bucks when we flipped it.

Checked with my agent. She says that HUD will not longer take conv. loans on their houses. She said they most likely made him go FHA. She said if he did have a large chunk of money to put down, he may have been better off to find another house that would take a conv. loan and saved the $250 per month. Kelly said that HUD now accepts FHA or VA loans or cash. She said where most people make the mistake on cash is not bidding enough. She tries to determine how hot the property is then advised to place their bid on that. I know when we bought the HUD house for cash, she advised us to offe

Not sure about if you make a loan on HUD house. We did buy a HUD house and paid cash. Closed in 3 weeks. Repaired it and flipped it. When we sold, it could have gone conven. FHA or VA. The person that bought it went FHA and that loan closed in 3 weeks. I think a lot of what happens depends on the Agent. We had the best agent in these parts.

Husband went. Not sure where you planned to spend any money. He said there was only 1 food booth and that was it for food, water, soft drinks, etc. He said the line was so backed up that he would not even consider getting in it. He thought the whole thing was a failure. He was not cooking BBQ. He went because it was advertised as a car show and he said the cars were very limited at best.

How many more must die in the war on Drugs ?
confederaterose replied to CitizenCain's topic in RECENT TOPICS
In my opinion, the parents are the at fault parties here. Why would you force your 19 month old child to live a known drug house. Not only where drugs were being sold; but, where meth was also apparently being smoked, as a pipe with meth residue was found in the home. From what I have seen from afar, I believe these parents have at least 1 other child. Where is DFAC? Why has the children not been removed from custody, for child endangerment? Vincent Fort and Atty. Davis are just blowing a smoke screen and they only see $ signs. I would hope the GBI and Sally Yates get to the bottom -

From what I understand, the $700,000 are damages and she got lost wages (I think she made around $200,000 a year) and attorney fees. I would expect the total pay out by us tax payers to be nearer $2 million. It sounds to me like the Ethics Commission has no ethics. Deals solution to this is hire 7 more people for the Ethics Commission. In my opinion, he should start by firing the idiot that is in charge (Ms. Lebarge?) Of course, she would then probably squeal on him; because, that is who he has to thank for stopping the ethics investigation. According to the Marietta Paper, the jury found

Over the years, we have met up all over the country, from San Diego, Reno, Providence and a whole lot of places in between, all without incident. I am just so embarrassed that it happened here.

I realize that it is the credit card company that takes the hit. Just furious that people in this county are so awful.
-
To say I am furious is an understatement. DH got out of the Navy in 1966. He has remained dear friends with a good number of the people that he was aboard the USS Canberra with. We typically meet twice a year. For our spring outing this year, everyone decided they wanted to come to see Georgia. We went to Hiram and viewed the local motels and made the reservations. Well, yesterday I got an e-mail from Kathey, who lives in Broken Bow, OK. She said she got a phone call from QVC, saying that someone in GA had placed an order for almost $900. She said that she had not ordered anything

Maybe, it is because we still drive cars with cranks, or least we do. It is a 1931 Ford.

Judge Osborne Made Channel 2 Action News This Morning
confederaterose replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
When the storms came thought last spring, we lost 13 trees. Then late last fall, we needed some tree work done on a house that we were preparing to sell. We hired Chris to do this tree work. Chris does not have a drivers license and walks all over the county, even lugging his tree cutting equipment at times. I know that in the spring and through the fall, that his son was in foster care. (I think but do not know for a fact, that is where these charges came from). A girlfriend and mother of child is an addict and gave up all rights to child. Chris walked for these 6 months or so, to some pl -
Judge Osborne Made Channel 2 Action News This Morning
confederaterose replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Actually, I had not planned to post to this topic. We occasionally have the person that Judge Osborne gave a ride,to cut trees so I had his phone number. I called him and told him I just saw his mug shot on TV. He, of course, wanted to know why. When I told him they wanted to know what he and Judge Osborne discussed, he said he was calling the reported. I asked him what they discussed. He said trimming trees, that is what I do cut trees. He did say that Judge Osborne voluntarily recused himself. I only know what Chris told me about the charges and have been to the courthouse to verify -
Shoe Repair and Dry Cleaners?
confederaterose replied to Jamie Gilbert's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I do not know of one the Hiram area. The Ritz on Dallas Highway, in the Kroger Shopping Center, across from Ave. does both. I have used them off and on since they opened about 25 years ago. I have used them for laundry, dry cleaning, shoe repair, purse repair and alterations and always extremely satisfied. They do everything except shoe repair on premises. I made the mistake of taking an item to a cleaner about a mile from house, a few weeks ago. It is just drop off and sent out. It took 2 weeks to get it back and then I could not even tell it had been cleaned, which is doubtful -
Anyone have experience with dysgraphia?
confederaterose replied to its mr sarcastic to you's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My grandson had this problem. His IQ is well above the norm and he even aced the math and science SAT. When he first started to school, he could not write where it could be read by anyone. It was quite worrisome. After trying to help him to no end. It finally came to light that it was only because of the way he was holding his pencil. Hope your son's remedy is so simple. Good Luck
