  1. Have not had any trouble with them lately. Several years ago, used the weed eater around my mail box. I can assure you our lawn is well maintained and DH keeps everything well groomed all the way to the street. We are not in a subdivision and the county does need to cut the right of way and on two parcels of land. When I went out to confront them about cutting my flowers, the person driving the truck and all 3 riding on the tailgate (which is illegal) denied they could speak English. I called Scott Green. He said oh, no they would not do that. They only weed eat around power poles an
  2. The Paulding County Water Department read my meter today. They pull up in front of my house, after passing it a couple of times. This is a dead end street with only 2 house past me that has county water. Everyone else has a well. The meter readers head immediately dropped down. He sat there for about 20 minutes. I could not decide if he was asleep or dead. My husband was in the basement, so I starting to get him up stairs to go out and check on the reader. About that time, he jumped out of truck with a stick, then jumped back in the truck and sped off. So, I guess we just get to pay f
  3. Shampoo has come a long way in the last few years. My daughter spent 2 months in the hospital, last summer, prior to her passing. I am not sure what the shampoo is; Wellstar Kennestone, gave her shampoo that was used daily and she said that it was just like shampooing your hair. It was not the dry kind that comes in a can. I believe it was in a foil packet. I would think Cobb Hospital would be able to give you the same thing. Good look!
  4. It sounds like a really good plan for a lot people. I still have mine thought my employer, from which I am retired. I checked into it for someone else, who is disabled. The only Dr. in the State that treats his condition is @ Emory. This plan only covers Piedmont and Wellstar and their Doctors, if you treat anywhere around here, so it would not work for him.
  5. Actually, I am well versed in the rules of the road. Prior to my retired, I could quote most of the State Statutes for the Rule of Road without thought. I do what ever the situation dictates without road rage.
  6. Being an automobile claims adjuster for 35 years, I can say I never handled a claim where people were treating a mal-functioning traffic light as a four way stop sign. Not sure how handicap parking get in this mix; but, I can say I do not judge people on the surface just because I think I am entitled to the best parking spot in the lot. A few days ago a very pretty young lady (probably early twenties) pulled into the only available handicap spot. I went into the store, got the things I went for and was coming out of the store, just as the young lady had gotten out of her van. The reason i
  7. Has it ever occurred to you that the people of Paulding County are not morons? They are kind, courteous, generous people. If people with blinking yellow light were backed up so far, just how far were the people with the blinking red light backed up? If the people with the blinking yellow had never stopped, the people with blinking red light would never had a chance to get through the intersection. On the other hand, maybe the people of Paulding County are morons. Some people just keep begging, the generous people of Paulding County just keep giving.
  8. I tried to get something at the Kroger meat department. They informed me, the one at Village Green, Dallas Highway, advised me they no longer have butchers. If I want anything that requires a butcher, I go to Ingles.
  9. Over the years, we have traveled to every state and numerous foreign countries. We spent several winters in FL., thinking we might like to move there. To me, no matter where you are in FL. the winters are awful and we did travel over FL. all the way to Key West. When we started our journey, we said we are going to find the perfect place to move. We eventually came back here and bought another house. With everything taken into consideration, I guess right here is the best place to live.
  10. Terry Langford in Hiram and William Snell in Marietta are both DO's. Both part of the Wellstar group. I really like both of them as they actually treat you and not medicate you. I have not been to Dr. Langford personally. He was my Mom's Dr., so took her there often.
  11. When we had a similar problem, we took it to Dallas Tire and it was a snap for them
  12. He called me today, too. The only thing I could think of while he was rambling on, was when I saw any of years ago at the Fox in Pillow Talk, which he did mention today. Lying on that sofa, he was so fat, he looked like a beached whale.
  13. I think the government controls what ever they want to. It seems to me that it is all just a scam. How much do you think the government saved by giving the such a small raise to the people that need it the most?
  14. Surely, someone else read into today's AJC why the prices are down. It is time for COLA for SS, SSI and VA pensions. Based on the low gas prices, there will only be a 1.8% increase in these benefits for next year. Will not be long before they go back up.
  15. Sign up for their automatic e-mails and they well e-mail every Friday so you won't forget.
  16. According to what I recently read, from D. A. King, 52% of all jobs in GA since 2000, that is right the last 14 years, went to immigrant both legal and illegal. After reading this, I started paying attention. All the Doctors, jiffy mart people and the list goes on is going to what appears legal immigrants. All the construction workers and landscapers appear to be illegal. It does not matter how many jobs he creates if it does not go natives, it is not going to help the unemployment numbers. For the first time since Zell Miller, I am going to vote for a Democrat.
  17. They are almost as stupid as the lady trying to cash a $94 million tax refund at the Kroger store. Do you think you can really out run cop cars in a mini-van?
  18. I would like to sue Betty Peterson. She was the court reporter in a divorce case. I paid her $1,000 to transcribe the hearing. (probably way to much) I wanted the judge saying that the defendant was to pay me the $40,000 he owed me. The transcript did include what the judge said. When I questioned Ms. Peterson, she said Judge Mills gave her the high sign to stop recording what was said. I did not believe it at the time and even less now.
  19. I was a claims adjuster for 35 years. Just saying, never in that 35 years did I see the value of a claim go up because someone got a lawyer.
  20. Westinghouse has bought out Maytag and Kenmore. The Westinghouse brand is now the high-end among these brands. They are American made. Westinghouse is still charging the price for the Maytag and Kenmore, as if they had not bought them out and lowered the quality of the appliances. I found out the above information when I recently bought a new set and wanted to find out the best one to buy. I had a rather new front loader and hated it. I gave it my grandson and bought a new set. The washers now come without agitators, which saves water. As I understand they do not get the clothes cle
  21. According to the six o'clock news he was being investigated because his sect.'s husband owns Freedom Bail Bond, Judge Osborne's wife incorporated the Bonding Company and the Sect. writes some checks for the Bonding Co. Does this mean the Secretary is gone too?
  22. He or someone he knows must have a lot of resources to keep bonding him out of jail. In today's Marietta Paper to he was listed in the police blotter as being in the Cobb County Jail. The paper typically runs a couple of weeks behind on the arrest. I went to the Cobb County Jail web site. They will now only tell you if the person is still in jail, how long, the charges, etc. Nope his was not still in the Cobb County Jail, so I guess someone bonded out this fine young man. I would think the Cobb County incident would have been before the Hiram car jacking.
  23. My husband got hearing aids from Marietta Hearing, in Jan. You are correct that they come in all prices and kinds. Kathy Caudell suggested the ones he got. They were not the most or least expensive. She has been very helpful in getting the settings right to make sure he has the optimal hearing. He loves being able to hear again and join in the conversation. I love not having to scream at at him anymore. A friend got some at the same time for HearRite. As far as I could tell they were also the mid-priced ones. He paid a lot less than husband paid for his. Then I found out husband's c
  24. After reading what the check covered, it answered my question. It says this check covers from 1988 to 2012. So I guess I will be getting another check to cover 1969 to 1988. Sound Guy it sounds like your Dad will be getting another check, too. According to the Marietta Paper the first mailing of checks was for a total of $27 million. The way I figure it, they are still holding $40 million. The MDJ article says there was 86,000 duplicate filings and or incorrectly filed claim. It says if you incorrectly filed your claim that you can file correctly and still get your money. From what
  25. I have a question. A check came to day for $489. It had 1 claim number. I filed 4 claims all with different numbers. I am thinking I can expect 3 more checks. Do you think that is right?
