My brother used to eat a bowl of cereal every morning. No biggie right? Well, his "bowl" was the lettuce keeper, yeah the one big enough to hold a head full of lettuce in the fridge. The fact that an adult is an ADULT (and that a teacher is a TEACHER) should be plenty reason enough to show basic respect. My great-grandmother was an evil, horrible, vile woman who never did anything to "earn" my respect, but I still said yes ma'am and no ma'am to her, and never cussed in her presence. Why?
