JUST ONCE WOULDN'T YOU LOVE TO BE ABLE TO GO OFF
cliograd replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Life is too short, and holding my tongue takes up WAY too much precious energy, so it's rare that I don't speak my mind (nicely, of course ) As far as actually "going off" on someone, I think it would be the best feeling in the world, and after I did it once, I'd have to do it all the time! (In case someone reads this & thinks I have just contradicted myself, I think there is a difference between speaking my mind (which is preceded by a deep breath & done in a low voice, with a smile of course) and going off, which just lets it all fly!) This guy apparently just had enough. Ju -
He said it was an occupational hazard for an Alaska politician, given how much of the state is accessible only by air. This isn't the first time an Alaska politician has been killed in a plane crash. Congressman Nick Begich was killed in a crash in the early 1970s. His son Mark now holds Stevens' old Senate seat. Ironically, he survived a plane crash in 1978 that killed his wife. It was at the airport in Anchorage, which is now named after him. No matter what you think of the man, or his politics, it's a sad event. I hate it for his family.

Kind of a poll i guess but just a question

My grandmother's house was cleaner than any operating room. She worked full time, cooked every single night & every Sunday for the family, and I NEVER went into her house when it wasn't perfectly in order, without even a speck of lint on the carpet. The things most people do for spring cleaning, she did pretty much every week. Her yard was always immaculate too. No matter what I do, no matter how organized I get or how hard I work, I can never get my house even close to being as clean as hers. She could also cook like nobody's business. Her sour cream pound cake was so good, anyone wh -
Thanks for thinking of me, after only an hour & a half this morning I packed it in & called it a day. The heat is completely sapping any energy I manage to muster. I saw where the Eagle had come into town. If it weren't so stinking hot I would love to go down there & have a look. Take care, the hottest part of the summer is yet to come

its not much better in the shade...when I was working outside this morning it actually hurt to BREATHE but there is a bright side - my brother sells air conditioners for a living - he's making a killing this summer!

Watching the lightning pop across the river as we speak and listening to the thunder rumble. Never get tired of watching the thunderstorms come across the river (I can look out my front door & see the ships going up & down the Savannah River, and am a stone's throw from the LNG tanks on Elba Island). I don't have a renter, was coming up there every few weeks to get more stuff out of the house so was just cutting it when I came up there. Our HOA has gotten pretty slack on enforcement since so many people moved out, but it's still my house so I still want it to look decent.

Savannah's been under a heat advisory every day for the past few weeks. Tomorrow gets a heat advisory AND an excessive heat warning Finally got some rain on our side of the island today I've heard the Emergency Alert System more since moving back to Savannah 2 months ago than I did in the whole 4 years I lived in Paulding From what I've seen on here about how often it has been raining in Paulding, I guess the grass at my house up there is beautiful, thick, and in desperate need of cutting, huh?

Met LPPT, Caped Crusader, C.Mark Willix, and Johnny J all at the same time Have met lots since, and tons more I would love to meet, but meeting anymore is going to be kind of difficult since I don't live in Paulding anymore -
www.vrbo.com is another good site to try. Hi-Ho Silver is right, the downturn in the economy doesn't seem to be hurting tourism in Savannah or on Tybee as bad as some places. Traffic to the beach is steadily getting heavier & heavier (I live just off Highway 80, the road to the beach) and my parents' beach house is completely booked through the end of September. Still a great place to visit, no matter where you end up staying, be sure to relax and have a good time

No, you're not the only one....

the nuclear stress test is much faster, but not real fun. the one I had pretty much dilates everything in your body all at once - not a very pleasant sensation at all. of course, if I'd lasted more than 5 minutes on the treadmill I wouldn't have had to do the nuclear test

We put baby powder on the ceiling fan blades so when they were turned on it went everywhere, made the non-carpeted classroom floors really slick, but the place sure smelled good! . That was the last year that the pranksters were allowed to do their thing unsupervised A few years before us, they took the lab skeleton, dressed it in a nun's habit, and hung it outside the classroom overlooking the courtyard(this was at an all girls' Catholic high school). The all guys military school across town had my all-time favorite - they stole the Shoney's Big Boy & put him on top of the school fa

anything other than what we've been dealing with sounds good. I hate it for my friends, but I am glad to say it is not my problem anymore...

It's not that the GAE is against Georgia getting money. Their problem is with what the state is trying to do in order to get the money, particularly how the governor tried to sneak in a pay for performance provision in one of the education bills this past session, but the criteria for the pay for performance evaulations was vague & extremely subjective. And before anyone says it, GAE is NOT a union. GA does not have a teachers' union.

maybe all the teachers Cobb just kicked to the curb can get jobs with the company installing all the turf fields...

ANY day is a good day to go to Tybee I've missed being able to go there anytime I like, I plan to make up for that after I move back to Savannah on the 22nd

Just happened to be listening to the scanner when the campus officer asked for reinforcements from Cobb PD. When dispatch asked what happened, he said everything was fine until "Channel 5 got em all riled up". Typical. If what is happening isn't exciting enough, the media will fix it

Thanks so much for coming to my rescue tonight (and doing it so quickly!) I never would have figured that out on my own Really enjoyed talking to you, sorry I had to run off all of a sudden! You are the man!!
