  1. I bought my house new about 20 years ago, no one else (except for members of my family) has ever lived here. The house number was even changed during the 911 change over some years ago. But about a year ago I got some mail from a insurance company with my address but not my name? I called the insurance company they said it was a mass mailing and they just bought the information? Since then I have gotten three more pieces of mail from the same insurance company for the same person. Seems to me, whom ever they bought the information from sold them bad information.
  2. While Lupis is more common in women, my son has Lupis. It can be very serious, he almost died about 6 years ago and was he was about two weeks from starting dialysis, Lupis can effect the kidneys. A doctor at Emory saved him and while not completly out of the woods yet, his lupis has been in remission for six years and his kidneys are still functioning. Search: Lupis Foundation of America and click on "learn about lupis".
  3. Just how many people with chronic health problems or impaired immune systems play baseball or softball! "The molds could “cause respiratory or other infections in individuals with chronic health problems, or in individuals who have impaired immune systems” said the department." "Just be thankful that you don't get all the government you pay for." Will Rodgers!
  4. In the last two years of "recovery" my son lost his job, my daughter lost her job, my home value lost $40,000 and my health insurance costs have gone up over $4,000 a year, even though I went on Medicare. I for one can't stand much more of this "recovery"!
  5. I lived and worked in the UK several years ago. A lived in a little town called Woodstock near Oxford, I can give you some of my experiences. First I loved every minute I was there, the people are friendly, speak the same language (sort of) and the country is full of history. The rest of Europe is only a short plane ride (or in the case of France train ride) away. The weather not great, gets cold and wet in September stays that way till April. When it gets hot, few homes have air conditioning. But it stays light until almost 10:00pm (2200 to them) during the summer so evening walks are gr
  6. The best call I ever heard on the scanner was in California. It was about 12:30 am on Christmas morning when this Los Angles County Sheriff car to car call was made: 1 King (canine unit) to 1 Sam (supervisor), it is really dead out here. I haven't heard anyone say a word for at least an hour. 1 Sam to 1 King, I can get you out of that car and put you in a two man car if you need someone to talk to besides that dog. 1 King to 1 Sam, that's ok, when it comes down to it I enjoy the silence.
  7. The law says you can't block the cross walk or other vehical, not that you can't enter the intersection. Like you said, at 92 and 278 you can pull into the center of the intersection and wait until the light turns yellow then make your left turn. In fact there is enough room for two or three cars without blocking the cross walk of other vehicals. I have acually pulled out of line and gone around cars that were sitting at that intersection, behind the line, waiting for the lights to cycle again and give them a green arrow. Your comment on the Wal-Mart Highway 5 is not the same because it is
  8. What I don't understand about Paulding drivers is: 1. Why do they turn (swerve) left before making a right turn (or right before a left turn)? 2. At an intersection that allows left turns on a green light (after the left turn arrow has gone out), why do they sit behind the white line, get out in the intersection so when the road is clear or the light turns yellow, two or three cars can make the turn on a yellow light! More than once I have seen people actually back up when the light turned yellow to get behind the white line!
  9. We live just off Nebo about a mile west of Bill Carruth and got 1 1/2 inches of rain in just under an hour!
  10. The only real problem I have with the Hiram Wal Mart is the people that shop there? Every time I go in there its like I walked in to a freak show! Strange, but I don't see those people at Target, which is only 1/2 mile away?
  11. Pay the tow charges and get the car out of the impound lot as soon as possible. The "at fault" drivers insurance will repay you for out resonable of pocket expences. However, if you leave the car in the impound lot for an extended period of time they have a right to refuse payment, because of your inaction.

Dec 28 2008, two months after Obama was elected average gas price $1.99 a gallon. Isn't "HOPE AND CHANGE GREAT"!!!
  14. In this day and age "LOW GAS MILEAGE" is not a selling point!!!
  15. The ADT people were in our subdivision twice last week. The first day there were two of them but I never saw a car. One of the men came up to to me as I was working in the front yard. I told them I was not interested and he started to say something and I said again I am not interested and he walked away. The very next day a white station wagon with an ADT sticker on the door came in to the subdivision and parked across the street from my house. The same man started to walk across my yard and I said; I told you yesterday I was not interested, he said oh yea. Then walked across the street g

  17. I had a friend in California that open is own business, he bought the land, put up the building and paved the parking lot all, at his own expense. Los Angles County came along and cited him for not having any handicapped parking. They said for the size of his parking lot they required two spots set aside and marked for handicapped parking only. But they didn't say where these spots should be located. So he took the two spots the furthest away from the door and marked them for handicapped parking. When asked why he said the majority of the people I see parking in handicapped spots aren't handic
  18. I have told the story before but since I like to hear myself speak: About eight years ago I broke the middle toe on my right foot. After three days of limping around my wife insisted I go to the doctor because my foot was really swollen. As I expected the doctor said there is nothing to do for a broken toe except taping it to another toe. Then the doctor asks why I waited three day to come in so I mention that most of the time my feet tingle and feel like they are asleep. She says I don't like the sound of that, let me take a blood test. Will the blood test showed a extremely high level
  19. While I have not been ticketed for about 15 years, I did have to sit through about six hours of traffic court (I was a witness) there were people convicted of doing 90 mph and 80 mph in a 65 mph zones. The judge never mention anything about any "points" just the fine and court costs! What are "points".
  20. How was this to work? Once you have been discharged (served) they take your ID away?
  21. I agree 100% on Quality Chef's "Hot & Sour" soup. Just about the best I have ever had.
  22. Not a lot that can be done for those in a hearse. But the person in or needing an ambulance is a different story!
  23. It's the same people that don't pull over for an ambulance, fire truck, or the police when they have their lights and sirens on! It is their road and no one else has any rights.
  24. Wait till you husband retires, I am on Medicare, but since my wife is under 65 we are required to have LM Healthworks (no options) which costs only us $812 a month. Lockheed was a fantastic place to work (luckly I never worked at Marietta) but my medical costs since I retired have just gone up and up.
