nonononoononononoonono! I must defend Yuengling! ( Its from Pottstown,PA, near my hometown) It actually isnt trendy, just new down here in the South. Just give it some space on the cooler shelf at the grocery store, and we who enjoy it will thank you! Its been around PA quite a long time... Truth be told, first and foremost, I am a Corona and lime girl. HAS to have lime. The more the better, I will slice up half a lime in sections and wind up with the entire bottleneck of my beer filled with lime sections. " Wanna little beer with that lime?" I have heard that more than once!

There is NO reason on EARTH to have to feel bad about saying "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO" . Or " Oh, Geez, bummer for you that we arent PUTTING OUR LIVES AND HOMES on the LINE for an ILLEGAL PARTY for some kids who dont care about the law!" I think thats a great idea!

Its RIDICULOUS that they 1) did not put a gate there, with bells, flashing lights, etc. and 2) the only way to STOP the accidents at that road if it DOESNT involve trains, is to make it a 4 WAY STOP at that intersection.. Because of all the ridiculous useless signage there, people are thinking its a four way stop, so they stop for the tracks ONCE. Then they stop AGAIN for the intersection. This is when the mind says to you, " Ok, do what you just did, stop and go." It IS A WORSE set up than the way it was. Your mind is still thinking "No TRAIN- ok to go." And so you proceed, without realizing

Something that is not super flowery, although it DOES flower ( timy white flowers) is the herb Lemon Balm. It grows easily, in fact you HAVE to be careful not to let it go to seed like I did one year, or it becomes invasive! When you rub the leaves, it smells like lemon Pledge. I still have tons of it to give away- if you want any, google it, and if interested, PM me!

If you like the wildflower look, ( kind of a meadowy look, not necessarily the " controlled " look that some people like---bee balm, purple coneflower, mints, salvias, coreopsis, daisies, black eyed Susan, I could go on and on.( I have about 40-50 different plants like that in my backyard wildflower garden ( my PASSION!)

Ok...now just to be on the safe side, I have my weather emergency radio all ready to go,new batteries, etc. next to bed. I have my maps out and in highlighter pen I have plotted the area ( this according to NOAA) "north of a line from Carrolton to Canton to Blairsville.( Unfortunately, we fall into that category in Paulding County. Washing my raincoats ( I have to pet sit tomorrow! ) and have the heavy duty flashlight ready , along with our dog leashes to bring our 3 dogs down to our "safe room" if needed. I am of the belief that the more you plan, then it WONT happen ( laws of nature!), but if

Agreed! I see Crystal winning, with Lee as second. Third is a toss up between Casey and Siobhan, 4th place is whichever one of those two didnt make third. After that, is anyones guess- I am going to say Aaron in 5th, Mike 6th, Tim- out as of tonight. Could be wrong, though!~

$4 million widening of Bill Carruth Parkway
wenfen replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My brother just visited here from Philadelphia, PA area last weekend. He COULD not BELIEVE that there are the huge drop offs on the sides of our roads, with NO guardrails and he drives FAST normally (has an 8 cylinder, late model BMW- that thing FLIES!)he wanted me to petition Paulding County to put up guardrails along the roads- I had to chuckle! Also, I think if they increased the posted speed to 55 mph on Hiram-Sudie ( which we live off of ) people would just do 60-65 mph.. and THAT speed on Hiram-Sudie is NOT O.K.....- so lets just leave it posted at 45! -
My hubby opened the pool yesterday and today- he likes beer and good company! Plus he is a chef,so....... LOL!

Light It Up Blue! Wear Blue to Work Day TODAY! (Friday!)

I will wear blue on Friday, my nephew has Autism, and another nephew who has passed on, also had Autism. -
Quick hijack...On Saturday, I was headed down Hiram Sudie, keeping up with " flow" ( 55 mph ) of traffic, and thats typically the speed on a nice Saturday on Hiram Sudie. I am headed down to Bill Carruth. I have a huge Ford Expedition in front of me. A young guy and girl on a crotch rocket come flying up behind me ( I am driving a 6 cylinder SUV ) to catch the wind/ air suction from off of my vehicle, so they can weave, sway and play in it. They were nearly on my drivers side bumper, going 55, and playing. So I am praying " Dear God, please God, dont let traffic in front of me stop, please. I d

I would love to, but this week Wednesday is tough- 2 dinner pet sits for 2 clients- one at 6pm, and one at 7 pm, so I will have to catch up ( haha) with you maybe next week? Will you still be doing WOPark?

I, too, look forward to travelling that road again on my daily petsit rounds. Hmm. Maybe I could offer a discount on pet sitting visits to those living off of that road, a "Waters Road Open Again!" celebration discount!!

Freaks me out to no end. My cell phone rings, I say " Hello?" then there is a second of silence, and an automated recorded message comes on. " This is a Collect Call from Bells Communication. An inmate at Clayton County prison is calling. To accept this call, press.." and the automated voice continues to give instructions, and I hear some guy trying to say something ( very muffled ) to me--I hang up. This is at 3:14 pm. Then my cell phone rings again at 3:16- now the number that called me just two minutes ago was 678-479-7198. Now the number is 678-479-4315. I think they are too close because

Very, very thought provoking and relevant topic. I have been reading about this and have pondered how I will approach this in my own home in discussions with my 14 yr old daughter. Having been in the situation of moving from Vermont ( nearly the most liberal state ) when she was 9 years old, to Georgia ( nearly the most conservative state ) has been quite (Honestly, with no sarcasm intended, I am not really sure of the descriptive word I seek...)...? a change?? In all of us, myself, my daughter, and my husband. Or is it just changing as you age? Or is it the state of things in America at th
