  1. Agreed. The smell is something you can ever forget, either.
  2. I have been doing this constantly this week...everytime I shut my drivers side door to my SUV after I get out, I forget to tuck the seatbelt back in ( its old and doesnt roll back well). CLUNK! I now have shut the door on the metal seatbelt.
  3. Again, IMHO, I absolutely have no issue with healthy, natural thinness. I am just not comfortable with some of the "ideals" we are fed as women, thats all. And I went back to that Kelly Ripa picture- maybe she is "cut". I dont know. There is just something about that picture- mabe the bonyness on her chest between her cleavage? Also, I am much larger now, but I used to be a size 7, so I was what I call " thin" at one time. That may be ridiculous to some people, who consider 7 to be large.
  4. Nope, not that picture. I agree that she looks nice there! If you go to US magazine, look for "Scary skinny beach bodies". She is in a black bikini I think. But if you go through those pictures, Tara Reid is absolutely the scariest. Some of them I think are naturally very lean, because if you look at the thighs, they are healthy looking. BTW, I believe that thin women are natural and not "Unreal" at all. Women just need to celebrate being whatever they are XS,S,M,L,XL, ..........
  5. My daughter went through a phase of not eating much about 2 years ago, at age 12. In addition she was going through a rebellion, break the rules time in school and at home. VERY tough year for all of us. Anyway, she would eat 2 bites of dinner and push away her plate. She wanted to stay 100 lbs, size 0, and " thats my limit" And she is 5'6". She went and exercised ferociously for an hour in her room after dinner. She would stand there and talk to you, all the while banging on her outward popping hipbones with her fists. Nauseating. After a year of therapy, things improved. 2 years later, she i
  6. I KNEW i liked you! I think, regardless or not of size, women need to be able to feel GOOD about what they wear. It's wrong to think that overweight women dont deserve that. If it makes them feel better, enjoy life, and be all they can be, more power to them! P.S. There is a picture of Kelly Ripa ( who I enjoy)in US magazine, wearing a bikini. The magazine calls her "cut" . I dont know- I see some eating issues there...Not sure if emulating her body is what women should do, if thats the ideal. If someone can find that photo and upload it here, please do. Good discussion should follow.
  7. Prayers for the family....
  8. If you are ok with a lonnggggg road trip, or ok with flying- Connecticut has Foxwoods Resort and Casino owned by the Mashanpequot ( SPELLING ) Indians . Not far from that is Mohegan Sun.......
  9. YAY! Someone else with a tibby! They arent common! Some people try to tell me he is mixed with a papillion, because of his ears. So I am not sure if he is full tibbie or not... go my facebook wendyfenner, and friend me, I will accept when I get back from work, and you can view my photo albums.. ( I tried just attatching them onto here, and I keep getting message they are too big to upload here...)
  10. Thanks everybody for the responses, it really helps! I am still reading through them! But I was feeling at a loss, and now I feel maybe we can figure this out. Our dogs are inside house dogs, that go out every 4 hours to go to the bathroom. They want the cushy life- our Akita has NEVER liked the outside, other than to use the bathroom, or to hang out on the pool deck if we are there having FOOD. Otherwise he goes up the deck stairs, and uses his big head to push the back door open ( it doesnt latch well) go in, and lay on his bed. He loved it in Vermont, he would lay in 3 feet drifts of snow
  11. We live in a nice (not fancy) subdivision. We have 3/4 of an acre, with an inground pool with a deck, fencing around the pool itself. Then around the entire perimeter of the back and side yards we have totally separate fencing( the sides have the typical wood slat fencing ( picket fence ) about 5 1/2 ft tall. the back line is all chain link fencing, a few hundred feet. Neighbors just moved in about 1 month ago, after the house behind us was empty for a year. Let me preface this by saying I have three dogs- a Tibetan Spaniel ( think of a Pekingese with the nose outwards instead of pushed in, tha
  12. 11pm- goodnight- Bill o'Reilly is on now. "Caution- you are in the no-spin zone!"
  13. And I have to add that I came to Ga 5 years ago as a "semi-Dem" (going to vote for Kerry in '04- I lived in Vermont. My daughter was indoctrinated( my position now) into the "global warming" scare since kindergarden, by the elementary school she attended in VT. I just took it as gospel as well, at that time. I voted for Clinton when I lived in Rhode Island in the 90's. ) I stayed as an Independent mostly through the Bush years (not a fan). Now? I believe I am Libertarian. I will watch Beck here and there, but now( since all this has come up) with a grain of salt. However, I enjoy O'Reilly. Ok
  14. This is quite thought provoking ( no sarcasm intended )... I need to ask in all seriousness, do you have any ideas or possible solutions for getting us off the " road to failure?" Is there anything that a single citizen can do? Or do we just wait for everything to fail? I cant see just accepting being "doomed". There has got to be another way if these current ways arent working. To accept that we are just "doomed" is not my way. JMHO
  15. This is quite thought provoking ( no sarcasm intended )...
  16. I just am so saddened to hear of this. Our daughter, Jess, who is currently in 9th grade at PCHS, knows Austin, just told me about this. Our family sends all our prayers....
  17. It IS wonderfully written, and I do need to apologize for offense caused. Maybe how I should have stated my opinion is that on the autism spectrum, the less verbal/more combative students might benefit from a separate situation. Add to that, the higher on the autism spectrum, those children would be able to benefit from mainstreaming. I guess I am just coming from a point of view of low functioning autism interaction?
  18. I dont agree with adding the autistic population into the mainstream population at schools, daycares, etc. And then to expect high marks from them is absolutely unreasonable, IMO. I believe it is NOT harmful to them to have separate facilities and schooling. The keeping them mainstreamed stresses EVERYBODY. My sister in law, Kathy, had 2 severely autistic boys. One got outside in 2004 and drowned in a retaining pond (at age 3). The older one, Hampton, is now 16. This has been a LONG road for all, with him in public school. Kathy has gone through so much with him. He is SEVERLY autistic. Howls,
  19. I credit him for the money he raised for the children of fallen soldiers college education. That cannot be debated. I personally believe it was unwise to settle for THAT particular day, in THAT particular location. I think that he would have created a better forum, and received a better response, had it been done on a different day. My feeling is that on that day, in that location, it should have been the marchers with Al Sharpton there, not Glen Beck and his rally. And I dont call myself an Al Sharpton supporter. I find him to be too much, I dont agree with his stance on a number of issues. H
  20. Good Advice, Subby! I think that is what my gut is telling me, is to take him with a grain of salt!
  21. He really has made me think about issues confronting America.... the " blackboard " schooling is interesting, to say the least.
