Maybe she didn't plan to take her husband's last name when married. Not unheard of in the last few decades or so. Regardless, a very sad story.

It's beautiful! Wear it in good health. I love garnets. It's my birthstone.

I never thought I led a charmed life. My life has always been a series of ups and downs, highs and lows and picking myself up by my bootstraps. This past year has been one of the most challenging and yet somehow one of the most rewarding ones in my life. And that's saying a lot. Just before Christmas last year, my grandson had a grand mal seizure and was diagnosed with a form of juvenile epilepsy. Thankfully, he is now doing well on meds and will hopefully outgrow it. And in October of this year, my daughter experienced symptoms that sent her to a neurologist. After several MRI'

Did you see the clip from last year's after Oscar's interview when Jack Nicholson was hitting on her?Funny stuff!!! I have every episode of breaking bad on the DVD, plus homeland and a few movies I'll probably never get around to watching. Can't wait for Shameless and a few other shows to start back up.

This is one of my favorite Christmas stories ever. I still get a giggle out of it every time I read it. As a joke, my brother used to hang a pair of panty hose over his fireplace before Christmas. He said all he wanted was for Santa to fill them. What they say about Santa checking the list twice must be true because every Christmas morning, although Jay's kids' stockings were overflowing, his poor pantyhose hung sadly empty. One year I decided to make his dream come true. I put on sunglasses and went in search of an inflatable love doll. They don't sell those things at Walmar

I can't help thinking how apt that the ad was from a funeral home. Just goes to show you that we're all the same no matter what our beliefs... whether it be in life or death. Maybe people who deal with death all the time realize that better than most.

I can't believe it. I just can't believe it.

Oh no. I saw this story on the news this morning and they said the boy was in danger but this is just horrific news. -
Seriously. What is Christmas anyway without a generous dose of tackiness?

I am just so relieved that it wasn't Miley Cyrus.

No jury in this case. It's all on the judge.

The little girl in the plaid dress is destined for stardom.

So what "affliction" does a teen whose parents are not rich have? Poverenza? Or maybe "ToughLuckitis"? There really needs to be an investigation into some of these judges and the sentences they are handing out.

My daughter was diagnosed with MS in October. She is 35. From what I understand,; having MS is very different for each individual. There is a wealth of information available - here are a few of the sites that we found to be the most informative: http://www.nationalmssociety.org/index.aspx http://www.mymsaa.org http://www.multiplesclerosis.com/us/ She had a rough few months after her initial symptoms, which included optic neuritis (double vision) and numbness in her leg. But she is feeling better at the moment and just had her first visit with a wonderful Dr. at the MS C

Personally, I want to move closer to the Marietta Diner. I went there for the first time just recently. Loved it. -
Who does good car audio work around here?
Bizmo replied to marvinthemartian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I would bring it to a couple of places and compare. But I recommend Rocket Science in Hiram. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Also you could price a system through Crutchfield catalog online and pay someone to install. (You will have to search for phone numbers and online site - can't post them here.) -
Not me. I'm done shopping. And craziness isn't quite as entertaining as it used to be.

Have Papi drive a self tapping metal screw into the inside top of the door. Then use coated wire to loop over the door top and hang the wreath. ~or~ Get a smaller, not-so-over-the-top-wreath!

I just knew someone was going to post about today's anniversary. 50 years. I still hate thinking about that day. Not just for the obvious reason; but because it was THE day that I realized that there was something terribly, irrecoverably wrong with my family. I was in third grade in a Catholic school up Nawth. I remember being let out early that day (with no explanation - just told to go home). As I was walking home, an older boy from our school and neighborhood told us that the president had been shot. I get home and tell my mom "President Kennedy's been shot!" and she starte

I caught a glimpse of the commercial for the Dr. Phil TV interview of Michelle Knight over the last few days. I did not watch either part of the actual interview and I won't. But I did see a lead in for one of the tabloid shows asking viewers who should play the roles of the three kidnapped victims. Seriously? They are planning on making a TV movie about this? I can't think of any reason to do this or for people to want to watch a Hollywood version of the horrors that Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus endured at the hands of that animal in Cleveland. I mean I can al

I don't know where her route was but she does look a little familiar. Funny story - Last year around this time my husband and I were raking leaves at the top of our yard. A mail truck pulled up and we both waved and my husband called out "Hi! Nice day, Isn't it?" The mail carrier gave us the nastiest look and said loudly "I can't reach your mail!!!" Then she drove off down the street. We just kind of looked at each other in disbelief. She was not our regular carrier, who has been delivering mail to us for well over 10-12 years. But I guess the P.O. has been cutting bac

Thank you all for the information and the private messages. It is a lot to go through, but I am taking it all under consideration. I would have thought I would be dealing with all this medical BS for myself someday soon, but as it turns out - it's for my daughter. You have all been very helpful. Thanks again.

Would prefer a neurologist who specializes in adult MS patients (newly diagnosed). I am feeling a little overwhelmed by all the information out there and am searching for someone who is accepting new patients (without waiting a month to get an appointment) and who will work with the person and is understanding of their fears and concerns. I would really appreciate any feedback / recommendations. Saying that I am a LITTLE overwhelmed is an understatement. TIA

What are these creepy white grub things on my driveway?
Bizmo replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Usually we get them in the spring. I think they feed on the grass roots. http://commodities.caes.uga.edu/turfgrass/georgiaturf/LandscapeAlert/White%20Grub%20%287-11%29.html Even the pictures are gross. -

I think they are... Big, creepy white grubs! I get them too. Those black crows usually get them. -
I'm probably going to get myself in trouble here but... I don't get why the pronunciation of the town of Buchanan in Haralson Co. is "Buck - cannon" and the 15th president was James Buchanan, pronounced Bu (long U) cannon.
