I used to have one of those fixtures in a foyer with a high ceiling. It was impossible to clean and I don't do ladders. I ended up replacing it with an open black wrought iron looking one with no glass when we repainted. I let my husband do the ladder climbing. Now I just use one of those static dusters on a long pole and dust it standing on the stairs. I've heard about that glass cleaner, but never thought of trying that.

I have a confession....I am jealous of black people

What can I say? How about "Skin is In"? There are worse things to lose. -
I have a confession....I am jealous of black people
Bizmo replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Ain't that the truth! Really, I know lots of people of all different ethnic groups who "don't look their age". Good genes, bad genes...wth, we're all different. And we are who we are. -
Well, I managed to get through the entire day without hurting myself so I guess you win....for today. Klutz.

Acworth man arrested for child porn/child exploitation
Bizmo replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I agree - it's really disgusting. Sometimes I think that it's not so much a sexual appeal as much as it is the appeal of the innocence of a child. Especially in the cases where eventually there is a pursuit of physical contact with a child. After all, most kids are receptive to attention by someone who appears to appreciate them. I think that pervs like this recognize that a child will not reject them as an adult would. Hence the perverted attraction. I tend to think that it's like what they say about rape - it's usually more about the "power" than it is about sex. But it's a c -
Of all the cars I've owned over the years I loved my 95 Mustang GT the best. Black, leather interior....I loved that car. It just got me in too much trouble. Way too much temptation to open it up. Now I drive a Jeep. It gets me where I want to go.

OMG. I never thought about that - but you're right. She does act like she hates men. I don't recall her ever once ever mentioning her husband on the show. Didn't the poor fellow have something to do with her precious twins? I hate the way she always berates her producers and behind the scenes people for something as innocent as putting up the wrong picture. Man, if I worked on her show, I'd give her something to bitch about.

I know that "hate" is a strong word but it's not meant literally. What TV or movie personality just makes you want to scream? Mine is Nancy Grace. I just can't stand to watch her. If I am flipping channels and happen to catch a bit of her show with a subject that interests me, I always end up turning it the minute she opens her mouth. Ugh! I remember her from years ago, but if it's possible, she's gotten even worse. Good Grief. You would think the woman invented childbirth or something. And this morning I caught Regis and realized how much I can't stand Kelly Ripa. I'm sure she

One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest Made the list
Bizmo replied to shopthebookworm's topic in Business NEWS
I'm still searching for a complete list of all books that have been challenged and/or banned over the years. But I was surprised to see so many books that are now considered classics on several lists. I mean really...The Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men? Two of my favorites. I never tire of reading them. Steinbeck was one of the greatest writers imho. His words had a way of making you be able to not only picture what he was describing, but to feel, see, and yes, even taste it. I remember reading "The Pearl" when I was about 11 or 12 and just bugging the local librarian until s -
Seriously. I don't need to worry about anyone else hurting me. I inflict enough damage on myself.

Oh gosh, I hope not. Still pictures would not be so bad, but if anyone has a video, I'm moving. And changing my name. Flip flops are just evil. You have no idea. I only had one wish when I was little...and that was to be able to skate. I used to watch the figure skaters on TV and wish that I had a tenth of their grace. Now I'd settle for being able to walk up my driveway without tripping over my own feet. I thought about getting one of those wrist magnet things they show on TV...you know...where you put it on and the other person can't push you over bec

I just saw this on the news. The young woman in Washington state who claimed a woman threw acid in her face admitted that she faked the attack. http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/09/16/washington.acid.attack/

So today was not such a good day. I smacked my head getting into my car. I went to the Post Office with a package to return when I should have gone to the UPS store. I dropped my keys in the parking lot and when I went to pick them up, dropped my purse and its contents all over the ground. I went to take a pill for my headache and it got stuck halfway down...I ended up spitting water all over the inside windshield of my car. I decided to stop at Walmart for a few groceries and one of my flip flops broke. So I'm lurching around the store trying to keep this flimsy piece of rubber on m

burning of Qurans on Sept. 11 by a Florida church
Bizmo replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Terry Jones is just doing what countless others have done before him. He's discovered that the best way to draw attention to himself and his followers is to create controversy. What does his congregation consist of....50 followers? What better way to increase his cult-like following (and his church coffers) than to let the media carry him into the national news? -
I don't eat seafood either. Well, tuna fish, but that comes out of a can. I have this bad habit of making "THAT face"...(you know the one little kids make when they don't like something?) whenever I am asked if I want something to eat that I don't like. Like this: And I'm not a kid...it's just a weird habit I never outgrew, I guess.

How badly do you want to appear on the evening news?

For a while there was a sign at the SE corner of Macland and 92 for a new Food Lion being built. Did they change their mind? I travel 92 often. I wish they would widen it all the way to Crossroads. I hate the ditches on the side of the road now. All it takes is one person (and believe me I've seen many more than one) not paying attention and crossing the center line for a bad accident to happen.

Now that's just terribly, terribly wrong!

One of the stranger stories to come out of the Chilean mine disaster: It seems one of the miners trapped in the mine had a mistress of five years. His wife encountered the mistress at a vigil being held at the site for the trapped miners when the "other woman" called out her husbands name. Story here: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/international/oops_trapped_miner_wife_gal_pal_oBkj1h8eng9C0vJ9Z9KBjI I have nothing to say. Well....maybe they should send him down some extra Wheaties (instead of alcohol). He's so gonna need them.

Actually, when you think about it - someone who chooses to be a rolling billboard for hatred is someone I'd rather avoid on the road. I choose to appreciate the warning ad.
-
Oooooh! I want one! But as someone who once demolished a Christmas tree while riding a mini J.D. tractor I think it's probably not a good idea.

Maybe he was grimacing, not grinning. I imagine Oregon can be kind of cold for kilt wearing. Proper kilt wearing, that is.

OMG! The cover guy is going to be there? I'm doing the bring-your-own-tent thing and getting there early. This is bigger than the ipad!

What I ended up doing was emailing them back saying it was still available and asking for a phone # for us to contact them if they were interested. That way I get to speak to them....I can spot a scammer over the phone easy. If they're wanting to look at it, they'll provide a #. If not...oh well. We are having fun with it. We're just that warped. Thank you all for the opinions. It really didn't sound right to me.

Now that's just gross. The idea that they are "just used to it " doesn't say much for what they are serving, does it?
