  2. This is not something that was said, but something that my sister did that I find myself doing now. When there is a slow driver on a 4 lane highway and she passes them and gets in front of them she does the sign from "Roller Derby". You know the hands to the waist kind of. I guess you had to be there. Also when we get behind a slow vehicle and we want to pass and the people behind us start passing us and the slow vehicle we say "We had position!" meaning we should have been allowed to pass first. That's all I got.
  3. We love this show. It makes us Happy, Happy, Happy.
  4. This is so crazy. What's next? Making a kid named Hunter change his name because isn't that a word that means to hunt.....with a weapon!!!!??
  5. I had to drive during 2 tropical storms that went thru our area. Once going to work in the dark and once driving home from work. The key word being work. Since I am retired I plan to stay home if the tropical storm rain and wind comes to my side of Paulding. I was so scared driving. It was like being in a car wash and not having any wipers on. NOTE TO THOSE WHO MAY HAVE TO DRIVE DURING THE STORM: Get new wiper blades NOW. The second thing I think of when I hear we may have this much rain is the floods in Paulding. Did any of you who got flooded and rebuilt or dried your baseme
  6. Sprayberry 1974 After High School I went to work for Cobb County PD. I retired after 30 years. Have we discussed if we know each other? My little sister graduated in 1980 from Sprayberry. Do you remember a little girl, last name Tinker?
  7. I worked one of the election precincts in Paulding. We had a lady come in mad because "we would not allow her to vote!" She was a democrat. Our Manager explained to her that there wasn't a runoff in tthat ballot style. She left in a huff!!!! I wasn't in the conversation, but if I had been and If I could have said what I wanted to say, I would have said. Are you so stupid that you didn't know that there wasn't any run off in your ballot style. (Ballot style now the new improved politically correct way of saying party) She left mad and probably called someone to complain. Oh and I kept
  8. Blue Cross gave us this scare a while back. They made a last minute deal.
  9. He gets a little atta-boy every time he sees these boys turn into men!!!
  10. My husband is the Scout Master of Troop 321 out of Hickory Heights Baptist Church (NE side of Paulding County) He has been in Scouting for over 30 years. He is an Eagle Scout and a very proud one. He lives the Scout Oath. Things I have learned being married to a Scout Master: 1. Boy Scouts is a boy led organization. Meaning that they really learn how it is going to be as an adult. They have patrols within the troop which allow boys to lead the boys. 2. Merit badges that the boys earn can and does lead to career paths. 3. Some boys are in it just to camp while most wan
  11. I worked at the Advanced Voting at the Crossroads Library. We had close to 600 people come into vote during the 5 days. I worked at one of the Precincts on Tuesday. This precinct had just under 5,000 registered voters. We had 557 who voted. That's really sad. With so many options to vote early, I can't understand why people didn't vote. The only reason I can come up with is they don't care!
  12. Congrats to the family. Pastor Matt is starting his own baseball team!
  13. I didn't know her well. I worked more with Glenn. Glenn was a good officer. Too sweet to be an officer actually. I was shocked at how she was treated after his death. CCPD employees were so mean to her. Now, I know why. Everyone that was friends with him said she had something to do with his death. The History of the Case as I saw and heard it and remember it: We had lost Robbie Ingram a year or so before that. He was shot in the line of duty. Then weeks before Glenn died we lost Bobby Milton and his wife Karen in a DUI Accident. Bobby was a Motor Officer. Then Glenn d
  14. I worked with Glenn and Lynn. Man, the guy who played Glenn was so much like him it was weird. The two officers Archer and Dunkerton were friends of mine. Man this was a sad, crazy time in the life of Cobb PD.
  15. My sister said the roof looked like it was cut off. I guess she was right. Don't tell her I said that.
  16. We saw two cars on the wrecker. One was gold and the top was smashed in really bad. Does anyone know if there was a fatality?
  17. We could be considered preppers sort of. My husband is an Eagle Scout, so he is always prepared.

  21. Have him call the Elections office to make sure they have him in the computer. This will save him time when he comes to vote. If there is some issue, they will have time to fix it. I work Elections and we do not require the voter to have the voter registration card with them to vote. They have to produce an ID (Georgia Driver's License is the form most used, but there are others). We enter their name on our computer and if they are registered they will come up in the computer.
  22. Twinsister and I had our first job at Southern Bell in 1974. We were information operators. We worked only 6 months and we got laid off.
  23. I agree it's not BB, but I am a reality junkie so I watched it. It was okay.
  24. Thanks to this thread I have done some thinking and I now know who I will vote for.
