  1. Umm, and where might this person live? You know I live within spitting distance of you. This is scary!
  2. Now you KNOW we get rowdy girl! But that's how we roll! Ha! We adore our team, coaches and parents! Best thing we ever did was come on board with you guys. I hope we all stay together for many more years.
  3. Perhaps it's just spring fever. I'm a 39 year old mother of three. I am your textbook "soccer mom" drive the mini-van, kids play sports, volunteer at school, teach preschool, blah, blah, blah. I told my husband just this weekend that I wanted to get my nose pierced with a tiny, tiny diamond stud. You would have thought I'd announced I was having a sex change. He just stared and told me I'd look like a white trash if I did it. Oh well, I'm thinking of trying a stick on stud to see how I like it and gauge everyone's reaction But I totally feel your pain. It's like WHOA! I'm gettin
  4. Lord I hope it wasn't my 16 year old daughter! I'd beat her hiney!
  5. Wow! They are gorgeous! That's the best looking couple I've seen for prom. But that girl looks awfully familiar Oh I know how I know her. SHE'S MINE!!!!! They did look fantastic together and the pictures are wonderful!
  6. See I am learning new stuff all the time. I have always been under the impression that unless we travel from the time he's about 13-14 he won't have a chance. We have three kids so budget wise travel is not possible right now and we really don't care to invest that much time into it at ten years old. So your son got a full college scholarship playing for a rec team? That is absolutely fantastic! Just goes to show that hard work and talent pay off in the end!
  7. We were thinking of trying to get him into the East Cobb system in a few more years. My nephews played there and were constantly scouted and could have gone on to play college if they had wanted to. The oldest one was actually on the same team as Jason Heyward. It's the money and travel time involved that will be a problem, but when he's 14 if it's still his passion we'll make it happen somehow. I'm assuming your son is on a travel team?
  8. Can you pass along his info I have a ten year old player and I'd much rather him play for a coach one day who honestly tries to help to boys move on to the college level as opposed to four years of high school and only the favorites get played and seen. I don't know that it's that way at the high school my son will attend in a few years, but just in case. Congrats to your son! I love that he got academic scholarships as well. I beat that horse to death with my kids. It's not just about sports. You've got to use your brain too!
  9. Thanks! I kept telling my dad that I felt sure it was not legal to just run water any old place. It makes sense to me to have them empty separately, but I certainly don't want to get in trouble for it.
  10. I feel your pain! We have a lovely little "pool" in our backyard right above our field lines. Have been told we need to add 100 feet of line to the tune of 1900-2500 bucks! Neighbors had same issue and they were told that the developer did not install big enough tanks for the homes. Most homes in our neighborhood have 5-6 people (lots of three and four kid families) and the tanks were designed for 4 people. Lovely! We have taken out a loan just to get ours repaired. Hoping it's only adding line that is needed and something else doesn't break down the road. Oh and will the septic com
  11. Watch out for snakes! Last time we went back there it was overgrown beside the path and looked very welcoming for our friends of the serpent variety It is pretty though. We had gymnastics pictures made there when the boys competed. They hauled a balance beam out there (it weighed several hundred pounds), sat it in the water and took pictures on it. They were gorgeous!
  12. You may get to go if our kiddos don't find a way to get there! We can spiff the van or truck up and off we go
  13. East Paulding isn't having theirs until May 6th! At least we have lots and lots of time to prepare
  14. You can buy the same lotions on Amazon for a third of what the salons sell them for. Most are $15-30 a bottle compared to $60 and up!
  15. We fully realize the chances that Hope will be around in two years when our Sophomore daughter graduates are slim to none. Our solution? Telling her you can go to Kennesaw State and live at home. We will help with what we can and you can apply for every loan/scholarship you can find to fund the rest. If that doesn't work out you can start out at Chattahoochee Tech for a year and take basic Math/English, etc. that will transfer. Just because you turn 18 and graduate does not mean you have to flit off to the furthest reaches of the earth to get an education. Meals and boarding fees are ast
  16. Hmmm, well he'd better keep working then. She's not a cheap date. Actually she's pretty easy to make happy and would probably be thrilled to death if he tied a ribbon around her arm and was done with it. As long as it's from him she'd be o.k. with it.
  17. All right now! This from the lady who bought "hot princess" roses! Ha! Nah, just something different (and wildly expensive since you will probably end up paying for it)!
  18. Does anyone have a good florist they would recommend for prom flowers? Someone who might could do something a little different from what every other girl will have on her wrist? Nothing too exotic, just different
  19. Now that he's sporting his mohawk the Squirrel Slayer a.k.a my son has graciously volunteered to bring his pellet gun and rid you of that pesky vulture. The only payment he asks is the dead carcass. He said he'd like to try and grill it to see what it tastes like I don't know what I'm gonna do with that boy.
  20. SO glad to see I am not the only woman who feels this way! I adore cheap grocery store bouquets on a random Tuesday as opposed to $50 red roses on a specific day when every other person in the country gets them. To me Valentine's Day is just a way to make money. You should love your spouse/friends/family year round and not need a "special" day to remind you of that. I do think it's fun for the youngsters though. When you're dating it's the most wonderful thing in the world to get a silly little stuffed bear from that all important boyfriend. So I don't look down on the kiddos for enjoy
  21. I remember a few years ago during a hurricane there was a hispanic reporter on the Weather Channel. I can't remember his name to save my life but he was very well known. He continued to say that the area got "spanked" by the hurricane. My husband and I got the biggest laugh. The guy would say it with such emotion too! They got SPANKED!
  22. Thank you for bringing me ketchup! Oh and of course for feeding my child tonight!
  23. The Coke was probably low because I bought 8 bottles That stuff is liquid gold in our house. If you need some I'll trade you a bottle for a stick of wood! Ha!
  24. Our two beagles, Muggs and Mojo, despise the rain so I figured they would run out and run right back in. Wrong! They had to be drug back into the house. Loved it! Ran in circles and kept burying their noses down in it. They did have to run back and forth and wear down a "potty path" and they are still puppies and haven't started hiking their legs yet so they just kind of lay on top of the snow to tinkle
