  1. My daughter attends East Paulding HS and she said every time it rains there is a puddle inside the door of her Health class. Being that it hasn't really rained that much before all of this stuff I can imagine there might be some issues there now.
  2. You know I didn't even think of that! The winter break would definitely be a better make up time to me if we have to go that route.
  3. After riding the Scream Machine this summer and nearly having my spine snapped in two I had already vowed never to get on it again. Now seeing it practically covered in water I will definitely not get on it. It can't be good for the structure of some of those rides to sit under water like that. I'd be very, very careful about what I got on over there for a long time.
  4. It's all fun and games now missing so much school, but if we have a rough winter then these kids will be making all this up into the middle of June. Hey, I love the days off as much as they do because I work in Cobb and we're out as well, but I really don't want to go to school half the summer. But what can you do? It's definitely not safe to have them out on the roads and I give Paulding BOE a big round of applause for making good calls on this one!
  5. Is it possible for all of this excess rain to adversely affect our septic tanks? What should we be on the lookout for other than the obvious sewage backing up into the house?
  6. As a former Indian I was screaming my head off for the Raiders to pull it off last night (in the kitchen checking the scores I'm super proud that we kept the game as close as we did. McEachern has been a beast for years, including almost 20 years ago when I was there. I remember going to football games into December because they were always in the playoffs. I'm practicing being a rabid Raiders fan for when my 12 year old plays there in a few years!!! I cannot wait!!
  7. Ours jumped from $285 to $432. We do have a 14 year old air conditioning unit though that we have been told is not efficient for our home. Currently we are better able to afford a couple of months of $300-400 dollar electric bills as opposed to $4000-6000 for a new AC unit.
