  1. Our septic field lines are saturated with all the rain. We had the tank pumped but have an option to have additional lines installed. Anyone else having this issue? We're trying to decide to spend the money or wait the rain out in hopes the ground will dry some. Wanted to see if there are others in the same boat & how you're handling.
  2. That's my hubby's car. He loves it too! Thanks for a great job.
  3. Add me to those concerned. I believe we'd be willing to help if we knew how to do so...
  4. You have very interesting events....too bad they are all scheduled during the week when I have to work. (Edited capitalization error)
  5. I've noticed many trees while driving around with yellow and fallen leaves. It's so early for leaves to be turning. Anyone know why this is happening? Does all the rain we've gotten have something to do with it? Just curious...
  6. The Ark! We have large dogs. All the vets there are excellent.
  7. Wine. The beach. Or...wine AND the beach!
  8. Greek salad at Mellow Mushroom. Doesn't beat the one at Marietta Diner, but it's a lot closer!
  9. Has anyone discussed this with the store manager? I'm curious as to their response/input. I've seen the man and have politely declined. I didn't realize he was there that often, as I stock up and go every few months.
  10. According to WSB weather app, we have severe thunderstorm watch until 1am. This is a ast moving storm, so hopefully we'll be out of the bad rain soon.
  11. What a loser (him, not you, gog8tors). The article said he obtained a Purple Heart license plate. I'm betting she saw that on the car at one point or another.
  12. First of all, I'm very sorry for the loss of your friend. I do think this is the way of the world, sadly. It makes it easier to notify everyone quickly. It may even help the family, as they don't have to try and obtain phone numbers for everyone., especially when most people have cell numbers and not land lines. Cell numbers are harder to obtain (for me at least) via Internet searches. And like someone else said, it allows the family to not be tied to the phone delivering the same sad news over and over. I think a balance really is needed in this type of situation. Like calling family
  13. Nope, she doesn't know I'm bringing wine, as it was not mentioned in our conversation. But thanks for pointing out that it could make others uncomrtable. I'll give it to our hosts discretely before I leave. The gripe our mutual friend had was thinking our friend initially expected us to bring gifts but then told us we didn't have to in the invite.
  14. I received an invitation for a milestone birthday party. On it were the words "No presents please, all that's required is your presence." I didn't think much about it and disregarded it. Regardless of what it said, I plan on bringing a couple bottles of wine, knowing my friend will enjoy them at a later time. A mutual friend, who was also invited, was a bit offended. She took the statement as the birthday celebrant expected gifts to start with. Knowing our friend, I know he and his wife really just want to share the day with friends and don't have a gift agenda. It never struck me to
  15. When my son was in scouts, popcorn sales were in the fall. Did it change?
  16. Thanks for sharing - needed that good news pick-me-up.
  17. I wondered the same thing. I remember getting my yearbooks, and I never read the names under every picture, especially group shots. I would bet many less people would be aware had they not involved the media. Now everyone knows! Edited for minor pununciation error
  18. I did a super quick google search and found some on birthdayexpress.com and Amazon. Happy shopping! Whoops, I overlooked the part about it being this weekend. Sorry! Good luck!
  19. I loved Frogger and Qbert on the Atari
  20. Mine is English muffins. If they are not Thomas', I'd rather not have them at all.
