ABC Nightly News is big on Made in America. A few months ago they went into a family's house and took out everything not made here. It was incredible. All that remained was an end table and a few nicknacks.

I have 4 pets, all from the shelter. I consider 3 to be "adopted" as someone else could have easily and happily taken them home as I did. I do consider one to be "rescued" as he was literally on death's door - there were so many medical issues with him he was un-adoptable and was to be put down. Five years later, he still has ongoing issues but is my sweet baby (all now 127 pounds of him). I suppose it's all in the perspective of those speaking. Folks think adopting is rescuing the animal from being put down, which in some some cases is true. I tend not to get hung up on people's verbiage;

Did you ask why, and if so, what was the response. I'm thinking maybe they only have the whole frozen turkeys and not fresh breasts. If that's the case, they wouldn't have one to butterfly for you. Just thinking out loud. There must be a reason they can't do it.

I wish we could use an water dispenser for our dogs (we have three very large ones). Unfortunately, one slobbers into the water as he drinks. (We know he's gross but love him anyway). So...I spend the day putting water in the bowl, dumping it after he drinks and refilling. Good times.

I have friends who came over from India. Their house is consistently immaculate, even when we drop by unannounced. On trips, I've stopped at gas stations with Americans running them that were nasty. I'm sure you have too.

How did you determine that? Is there a political affiliation field I am not seeing in the profiles?

When I watched the story, the funniest part to me was that she looked as if she couldn't believe she was getting arrested.

I would think if someone like the President was calling me, it would be in relation to a topic which would result in a voicemail at the minimum. Since the probability of being contacted by a scammer/telemarketer is much higher than someone "important," I will continue to screen. Besides, I didn't share that I sometimes don't even answer for people I do know. <insert smiley emoticon I cannot find for some reason>
