  1. Sorry for the hijack, but it's just one of those "you can't please everyone" situations...no matter how hard you try. Lucky, since you may not hear it by the time the event is over and done with: THANK YOU FOR PUTTING THIS TOGETHER!!!! It's an awesome idea and it's takes a lot of hard work and patience. Now...can I make a suggestion? I'm kidding!!!!!
  2. After reading through this entire thread...it sort of reminds me of this: Family Reunion Planning 101
  3. I just got this mental image of Harrison Ford stopping at the intersection of 92 and 278 and meeting Miss Jessie for the first time.
  4. She knows the friend, but knows absolutely NOTHING about the GF. She said the friend agreed to pay a small amount of rent for a room in her home. I'm sure that small amount of rent is not covering the utilities that these three additional guests are using. Plus, if it were me, I would NOT be ok with a stranger and her kids occupying my home. The friend should have cleared ALL of this with the homeowner BEFORE he brought the GF and her kids into the home.
  5. True...he may very well have told her that your friend said it would be ok.
  6. OUT...TO.....THE.....CURB.....PRONTO. Your friend did someone a favor and is now being taken advantage of. The original rent amount was for THE FRIEND....not his girlfriend and her kids. That rent is not going to cover the extra utilities being used.
  7. This mini series REALLY spooked me! Murder in Texas
  8. Another place is Vincent's on Barrett Pkwy across the street from Pikes Nursery. (Italian cuisine) I have never been to the place below, but I've always wanted to try it: Gumbeaux's in Douglasville
  9. AT&T/Uverse is slowly making its way into Paulding; I have Comcast and have had no problems, but if AT&T makes its way into my area and can give me a better deal, I'll go with them.
  10. Another thought....I haven't been there in a while, but it's a fairly easy trip....what about Lookout Mountain/Ruby Falls?
  11. There may not be a law or code against it, but if you live in a subdivision with homeowners covenants, you might want to read them. If you lived in my neighborhood, I wouldn't report you, but that's me.
  12. Have you thought about Dahlonaga or Hiawasee? Ga Mtns, scenic, hopefully a little cooler!
  13. I had mine done two years ago by Dr. Davila at the office on Macland. I was referred there by my dentist. After reviewing the X-rays, Dr. Davila opted to remove three of the four. It turns out one was sitting right on top of a nerve. He said if it wasn't giving me any problems it was safer to just leave it as is, so he took the other three. No problems; they gave me pills for pain, but I think I only took 1 or 2 after I got home and nothing afterwards. Surgery was done on thursday, worked from home on Friday (wasn't allowed to drive for 24 hrs after surgery) and back to work on Monday.
  14. In this day and age, that's the best advice. Go on a nice honeymoon.
  15. Second this one regarding the cake. Publix did ours...looked great, tasted great and extremely reasonable!
  16. I bought my parents tickets once as a Mothers Day/Fathers Day combo gift. They went in early October during the week and had a great time. My mom loved the shops and the scenery....my dad loved the train and the scenery. Plus it was something they had never done.
  17. Part of the problem is that she is hearing impaired so she really didn't hear ALL of what was said to her. If you watch the clip, you'll notice that some of the boys would cover their lips so she couldn't read them. The purpose of her being on the bus (my understanding of it) was for safety only. Make sure everyone stays seated, break up a fight, etc. She didn't report ANY of this abuse...no one knew anything about it until the clip got posted to YouTube and went viral. She said she didn't report it because school was almost out for the summer and it would have been either swept u
  18. I saw that, too, but I would have thought he would have had his son with him and made him apologize to her face. If the parents have any sense at all, they should make sure that this is the absolute worst summer imaginable for these punks.
  19. I'd like to see these little monsters meet face to face with Judge Judy.
  20. There was a story last week, I think, about a teacher that allowed the entire class to gang up on a bully to teach him a lesson. Of course, the parents (and others) were outraged. Again, a lot would probably disagree, but maybe it knocked some sense into him. Of course, that teacher is probably going to have to find a new line of work before its all over.
  21. I wouldn't have blamed her if she had all of a sudden jumped up and went all "Madea" on their sorry butts.
  22. Thought about heading to Moes, but I realized I had all the necessary ingredients at home...minus someone hollerin' "WELCOME TO MOE'S!!!!!!" when I walked in the door. So I welcomed my own self home and made steak burritos!
  23. Pizza!!!! Bianchi's Pizza The link mentions Kelly's Roast Beef....Kelly's also has awesome fried clams. And if you do go for Chinese Bali Hai is pretty good....it's been years since we've been. As others have said, Salem is fun if you have the time. If you venture over to Concord, MA checkout Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Louisa Mae Alcott, Henry David Thoreau, Nathanial Hawthorne are some of the famous people are all buried there.
  24. The pix were a little blurred on my iPad when I blew them up, but if it is black with yellow rings around it, it is an eastern king snake. DO NOT KILL IT cuz believe it or not, it's a "good" snake! It's not poisonous, it eats all sorts of undesirable pests....and they keep the copperheads at bay. I know some are of the opinion that the only good snake is a dead one, but this is a good one.
  25. Personally, I think Andrea and Rielle Hunter (John Edwards' ho) ought to buy a house together. They'd make ideal roommates.
