  1. I think this is her way of both getting any money from future book/movie/Geraldo interviews....AND her way of moving on.
  2. I've seen the same thing in gas stations (Race Trac and QT come to mind). People will wait for the morning or afternoon rush. Cashiers are busy and don't see it or are too busy to do anything about it. Stealing is stealing.
  3. According to this link, they takes kids from 8-21. I know nothing about it other than I used to drive by it on my way to work each morning. It's near the intersection of US 41 and Barrett Parkway. Hope you find a solution.....prayers for your family. Devereux in Kennesaw
  4. I HAVE been to the one in Villa Rica....and back.....and back...and back! Didn't know they were coming to Hiram, so thanks for the heads up!
  5. No....but Hope has this "connection" with Alice and she thinks Alice is communicating to her from the big Salem University Hospital in the sky. Personally, I think Hope is a couple of Fruit Loops shy of a bowlful, myself, but that's just me.
  6. Hey guys! Who wants some pie? Key Lime!
  7. You're not missing much....just the Terry Bradshaw post-game wrap up and analysis.
  8. Gotta get bail money to get my boyfriend out of jail! His Story
  9. All of y'all ought to get your records together and go to the media as a group. If your kids were swiftly punished and booted out of school due to POLICY, then why are these kids still in school?
  10. It's one thing to have them say that to any parent that asks about it. HOWEVER....it might be kind of fun to watch each of them squirm in front of a television camera if asked about it. Especially if others have been punished worse for less serious offenses. I'm thinking the media would just eat this up. I don't know if any of them were at Poole last night when 11Alive was there, but wouldn't you have loved to see the "deer in headlights/I need a change of underwear" look if they were asked "Speaking of damage to schools, is it true that the students involved in the vandalism of East P
  11. Was it a ginkgo tree? Seems like I remember hearing about a rival school (Osborne, maybe...and in the mid 1970's?) where the seniors had chopped down a ginkgo tree that had had been at the school forever.
  12. Butler Tire had a store next to South Cobb High School. Some of the seniors rolled the old used tires from the back of Butler up to the front door of the school blocking the main entrance. The first arrivals had to toss them aside to gain access to the building the next day; plus it was a fire hazard since the entrance was blocked. The principal made an announcement that he didn't care WHO was responsible, but those tires better be rolled back over to Butler when school let out....and they were. Even the ones that weren't in on it helped roll them back.
  13. I see no difference. It takes a LONG time for it to fade away. By the time it does, the next class comes around and puts THEIR two cents in and it gets to the point that it looks like trash. I used to live in Cobb and Kennesaw Due West was my route to work.....right by Harrison High School in Cobb. They did the same thing. It started out as painting the road in front of the school. Each year, the paint seemed to spread further down the street in each direction, and usually included defacing some traffic signs. One year, ('96 or '98' I believe) the painting went for about a mile i
  14. Like I said...it certainly would be an attention getter!
  15. I'd go one step further....CANCELLING any and all "milestone" events for the remainder of the year. That means prom, graduation, senior walk, etc. I realize that this is also punishing those that did not participate, but apparently from what I've read there were many that knew it was going to happen and said NOTHING. Send a message loud and clear to future classes that this will not be tolerated. It you want it to stop, you need to have an attention getter. The ones that participated are getting a little taste of that now. Cancelling activities for the remainder of the year is dras
  16. No....I think there should be MORE than this as punishment (restitution, clean up, jail time, etc), but if the parents are going to whine about it being "bad judgement" and they should be allowed to participate in graduation, then this would be the ONLY way they should be allowed to participate. No diploma....just public shame and an opportunity to apologize.
  17. That's EXACTLY what I was thinking! The ONLY way they should be allowed to participate in graduation exercises would be to wear that orange suit throughout the ENTIRE ceremony and before they leave the stage make a public apology.
  18. Probably because none of them has ever experienced a true painful punishment...and I'm not talking about a butt whoopin'. Let's face it, ISS is a joke. It's a vacation. Getting kicked off a team, out of band, losing a scholarship or parking priviledges is an attention getter. Maybe, as PART of the punishment they should have to visit each county high school in the fall and: a) introduce themselves and tell what they did describe in detail what it was like in jail or YDC c) what punishment they received d) what life has been like since it happened e) if they still think it was a
  19. Ok....let's take jail time out of the equation. Let's also NOT hold the parents financially accountable for damages to the school if we really want these kids to learn a lesson and suffer some consequences as a result of THEIR actions. What would you consider to be a fair punishment for all students that were involved in this crime?
  20. Maybe what should happen is that at the beginning of the school year, as part of orientation, this should be told in explicit terms to the students as well as the parents along with signatures stating that it was explained and acknowledged. It shouldn't have to be that way, but at least no one could say they weren't warned. I knew it was just a matter of time before someone would post the obligatory "imagine if it were your child that couldn't walk across that stage" post. If it WERE my kid, not walking across that stage would be the least of their worries.
  21. I had chemo last year and was told I probably WOULDN'T lose mine; however it did THIN. (it was so weird..the chemo nurse told us that the patients scheduled for chemo every 21 days would probably lose their hair and the ones on a 7 day schedule probably would not. I would have thought it would be the other way around.) Unfortunately, my hair was extremely fine to begin with, so thin wasn't good. Ovation was recommended to me, but when I saw the price, I decided against it. I used Nutri-Ox (their version of Nioxin) that I got from Sally Beauty Supply. I think I paid around $15 for th
