Sams club has a great cranberry-chicken salad in one of their refrigerator cases..the cases where they have the gourmet cheeses, briskets, etc. Grab a tub of it, then try this: Take a regular frozen pie crust and let it thaw. Roll it with a rolling pin to make it thinner. Cut the dough in small circles using a small round cookie cutter or if you have a ravioli cutter, even better! Place the discs in a mini-muffin pan and bake until golden brown. Remove from the oven and stuff with the chicken salad. As an alternative to the pie dough, you can also try using wonton wrappers

I second this idea....quick, easy, affordable, tasty, and best of all easy to manage on a plate! Roll 'em up, cut across with a pizza cutter, and if you use the large tortillas, you can probably get about 10 finger sandwiches per tortilla. Another idea....order different kinds of pizza, but tell the store NOT to slice it. When you get the pizza, instead of slicing it the traditional way, run the slicer crossways and vertically so that you wind up with bite sized squares.

We own a lake home on the SC side of Lake Hartwell. No Gators, seen one snake, and I caught a turtle on my fishing line once. US Army Corps owns the land behind the house. However over the last few years they really seem to be loosening up what you can and can't do. Twenty years ago when we bought the property, we were told we could only clear a path down to our dock. Now, you can have a paved path (asphalt or concrete) all the way down to the dock. They are also issuing permits to build sea walls or run rip rock along the lakes edge whereas before there had to be an extreme erosi

The other thing I was told that all of the positions listed on the Georgia Department of Labor's website have been verified as actually existing. They are with the actual company that is seeking a potential hire...not an agency looking to stuff their resume files.

Frustrating, huh? I was laid off almost 20 years ago and at that time I had some college, but not an actual degree. I was told by recruiters to finish college. Employers (at that time) did not care how much experience you had, they wanted people with degrees. Didn't matter what the degree was in, as long as you had one. It showed (supposedly) that you finished what you started. So...I took that advice to heart and made finishing college a priority. I worked full time (I had finally found a job in my field that didn't require the degree), went to school full time at night, and sac

I've been told several things at the unemployment office that are extremely discouraging. 1. Dumb down your resume. If you have a college degree, don't list it unless the job posting specifically requires it. If you have more experience or education than the hiring mgr, they will view you as potentially taking THEIR job. 2. For every one job listing, you are competing on the average against 800 or more applicants. 3. For every resume you send out, you need to customize it to EACH INDIVIDUAL JOB you are applying for. 4. In order to generate ONE interview, you need to be appl

Roasted veggies! 3 zucchini squash 3 yellow crook neck squash 1 large Vidailia onion 2 green bell peppers 2 red bell peppers Chop all into chunks in a large bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 Tablespoons of corn meal, and salt and pepper to taste. Toss veggies by hand to coat. Pour out onto roasting pan and bake at 350 until veggies are softened ( about 20-30 minutes). Turn oven to broil and let broil until all are lightly brown. Dump them in a container, place them in the fridge until ready to serve. Obviously you can serve them straight from the oven, but when it ge

That's us. What we've done to adapt is to plan one meal, then make other things using the leftovers. Hubs is quite amazing when it comes to making something completely different using odds and ends from the pantry and leftovers from the fridge and I've learned from him. Plus, it helps that we always have some fresh veggies in the fridge. More often than not, they are already cooked, so it's just a matter of tossing them in the skillet for a quick reheat, mixing them with leftover rice, or sticking them underneath the broiler for a crunchy taste.

I love blogs...especially funny ones. I stumbled across one the other day and this post just SO reminded me of why I rarely go to the movies anymore. Warning...rough language! Read the comments afterwards. Specifically the one from Adam. Adam is my hero!!! Rude People

Suggestion 1 Go to Walmart and buy an air horn to keep by the phone. Suggestion 2 (maybe a little extreme) Tell her that she can't come to the phone right now because you just killed her and you have to hide the body before anyone finds out and then come back and clean up the mess. Also ask them if they can recommend a good carpet cleaning service.

I'm not saying its right but maybe she is just terrified of being alone or in the back of her mind is afraid she isn't able to support herself. Also, from a different angle, you never know what goes on behind closed doors. The picture that a couple presents to the public may be the complete opposite of what they are like in private.

I'm Living In Georgia, And I'm Staying There

Maybe it's time for Georgia's Integrity Report Card to have its own forum. -
I would suggest asking the police about it if you want an actual answer to the question. All you're going to get here is either: A) what's wrong with that? you're absolutely right! C) I think, but I'm not sure....... D) The Postman using it to testify about Geogia's failing Integrity Report Card. Like Caroline Elizabeth said different counties have different laws. Peachtree City was specifically designed to be a golf cart community (driving them to stores, etc), but I believe even they had to tighten up their ordinances a few years ago.

It's been a while and I really need to get back into it but I watched the old episodes of "Dark Shadows". It scared the crap out of me as a kid, but I can watch it now and it SOOOOO campy and SOOOO over the top in acting (think "Mommie Dearest"). Hmmmm.....wonder if "Mommie Dearest" is on Netflix?

One of the things I always loved to do as a kid at my Grandmother's was camping in her backyard. We would "help" my grandpa set up the tent and spend the rest of the afternoon deciding the evenings activities. My grandma would "visit" us at the campsite and bring us a picnic basket of goodies. When it came time for her to "go home", she'd say who wants to come with me (translated: who wants to ditch and sleep in the house, instead).

I don't know her, but I hate anyone having to go through something hard or hurtful.....sending good thoughts her way.
