  1. Saying prayers all goes well. I know it's scary. ((hugs))
  2. Some doctors will only give you results in their office. Don't worry, it's just not worth it. Sending prayers for the best of everything.
  3. You really meant to say, "hand out candy", right
  4. Not familiar with football but when my son was in band, we paid big time!! Band fees were $800.00 per year not including shoes, gloves or meals.
  5. I honestly believe they need to look further before touching another dime of education $. I would be willing to bet there are a lot more projects that can be put on hold for now.
  6. Are you actually going to use these for riding or are they a fashion statement?? Remember I grew up in Chicago, I haven't worn boots since I moved to Georgia. I just haven't looked at boots the same way since. There are specific purposes for boots, mine were mainly for warmth and keeping my feet dry. If they looked nice that was a plus.
  7. That is sooo cool. I know you are proud!! His music is great!!
  8. I find it hysterical everyone else understood exactly what NJ was saying. I speak your language as well. I guess you guys lost this one, did you learn anything? We did the rec ball and one of the things I took away was those kids are amazing. Most of them are more interested in being a team than winning. We could all take some clues on watching how they handle things. While the kids were amazing, some of the parents weren't.
  9. No this one was made in the USA.
  10. My parents and daughter have a heat pump. Their bills are very reasonable. We have a regular furnace, propane. Our bills aren't too bad but we live in a stryofoam cooler (synthetic stucco exterior). If you're looking for a HVAC company, I highly recommend Pinnacle Air.
  11. Over six gallons of Brunswick Stew!! What the heck are you going to do with all that?? Are you feeding a scout troop or something?? Sounds yummy, when can I try some. Oh wait, I'm not surepip.
  12. She was a wonderful person, never to be forgotten, loved by so many. And so are you
  13. Before computers............well the laundromat and grocery stores were dangerous.
  14. We had to wear dresses to school until 1971. Pants could be worn under your dress but had to be taken off when you arrived at school. This was in a neighboring Chicago city. Heaven forbid you should ever think about wearing pants to church............it was always Sunday Best. I'm glad people realized God doesn't care what you wear.
  15. We did, that's why we picked all the late squash and tomatoes. Didn't phase the turnip greens or cabbage. Has to be below 20 degrees before I have to worry about them. Cabbage is just starting to head up good. We covered some tomatoes and peppers, don't know if they'll survive or not but it was only about 15 minutes to get tarps over them. They look OK right now, singed some of the leaves a little, but the plants are still alive.
  16. It's in Social Circle.......a little East and North of Covington. The food is awesome, the restaurant is incredible. It's an old antebellum house they turned in to a restaurant. It's very old and has a wonderful history. The front garden is beautiful. All meals are served on Blue Willow design dishes. Every thing is buffet style except your drinks, they only serve tea, lemonade and water. It's quite a hike but well worth the drive. http://bluewillowinn.com/
  17. Yep, I've run in to that before with AT&..............watch your bill and cancel a day or two before the next billing cycle.
  18. Ham, great northern beans, fresh turnip greens, sauteed squash and onions, fresh cherry tomatoes and cornbread. Oh, yeah Apple Pie for desert...............and I made it all myself!! Yum!! (well DH sliced the squash and the tomatoes. ) Picked the squash and tomatoes Friday, the turnip greens this morning.............I think I've had my vitamins for the day.
  19. I must be horrible to have to live 2:00am twice in one shift.
  20. Awwww, how wonderful. Glad mom and baby are OK.
  21. A little bit of what and what?? Come on, spill it. No nuts, please.
  22. Recipe, please. I love, love, love cornbread dressing.
  23. But this is pcom, it's not as good a story without some juicy gossip to go with it.
  24. Can I suggest you look at continuous cleaning ovens. Everyone wants self cleaning, and yes they are nice but you have to turn the heat up so high it shortens the life of the oven. A continuous cleaning oven cleans itself every time you use it. Large spills just get wiped up with a paper towel and the rest just cooks back in to the surface. Of course the racks still need to be cleaned from time to time, I do mine about twice a year. I happened to discover this quite by accident about 30 years ago, I will never buy any other type. I've only had two stoves in 30 years.
  25. Cool, here's a link to their website: Paulding Christmas
