  1. Check with Paulding Christmas, they always need help sorting and distributing. Check with your church and see if they have a list of elderly shut ins in your area. While most of their diets may be restricted most can eat soft fruit and suck on hard candies. A nice apple or pumpkin pie would probably be appreciated. When my daughter was in Girl Scouts, we worked with DFCS and got a list of elderly shut ins. We delivered baskets every year, those older folks were just so excited to see those kids. Of course we never went in the houses, just visited at the door.
  2. Didn't think about the fire extinguishers, they do lose their charge and become useless. Gotta check mine now. Does anyone know if those little ones can be refilled or do I have to buy new ones??
  3. I came by there about 2:00 and there were three deputies around a white car and the female driver was in handcuffs. They didn't have the road blocked from what I could see.
  4. I got it :yahoo: Congrats on reaching your goal.
  5. I donated, hope I did it right. You had already reached your goal.
  6. Welll..............we use it all the time, have for 20 years. Never, ever had any fall off in a wind storm. Not even on the Gulf Coast. That fake stucco is the best insulation you can buy!! I'll keep my very affordable heating and cooling bills, thank you. As far as why.......not really sure but I'm guessing someone is tied to the brick industry.
  7. So what spec section are y'all bidding on?? I think there may be a slight problem for us since planning and zoning decided there can't be any stucco on 278. We bid it anyway, curious to see how Olive Garden is going to react to the restriction.
  8. It's not BS. Plenty of stimulus $ went to Unions, the only reason we got any work is because there is no union in Georgia for our trade. It cost us 30% more in labor than any other job we have done, we still had to pay "prevailing wage", that is what the government decided it should be. Well, we lost our shirts on the job but we managed to keep 1 crew and 6 other employees from getting laid off. Considering the government managed to virtually shut down all construction for the last 4 years. My kids are grown, I don't have any in school.
  9. Don't forget to change those smoke alarm batteries.

  11. OK, OK, Jeez they only spent mllions and some of it was stimulus $. Dang guys, do you want to beat me up?? LOL <snip> Washington Times Lubbock online Washington Post
  12. Sounds like you have a wonderful son and a great relationship. I remember when my oldest was in the Persian Gulf/Japan, I was scared (of course) and very, very proud. I think he can just stand on his head if your letters appear to be upside down.
  13. Two of the bestest people I know LPPT and JJ.
  14. Now, now, now..........I happen to love Yorkville. At least it wasn't Hiram where they fight over the pan to cook the bacon in. I have no idea who gave you a negative, I'm gonna fix it for you.
  15. Wow, that's down the road from us. Well, a couple of miles but still close. Yikes!
  16. Any cross streets?? I live out here YIKES.
  17. They spent billions millions and millions of dollars of the Union members $ on this election, now they're going to ask the Feds to bail out their failing pension plans.
  18. Looks like a few aren't living up to their end of the deal.
  19. I'm not a big fan of Delta, they are always late.....they have ridiculous fees for luggage and flight changes but the Flight Attendants are some of the best I've seen. Not only does this effect the Delta Flight Attendants but those that came from Northwest Airlines as well. They were Union but now are not. Oh yea and the Unions are crying foul, imagine that. CNN Money
  20. Pcom was ahead of the curve, many other areas have followed his lead and now many communities have local boards. I agree Capitalism at it's finest.
  21. Based on past experience, I will never vote early again. Sorry Deidre, you dropped the ball on this one. Sure reduce the polling places, I'm OK with that. In fact, move them out of the schools if you have to but keep in mind, when you reduce the number of polling places, you need to increase the number of machines at the existing ones. 3 1/2 hours to vote is totally unnecessary and borders on ridiculous.
