I like the colored lights, just reminds me of the whimsical feeling of children around the tree. I think white lighted trees look elegant but I guess it's just not for our tree. Our tree is a collection of many years of homemade and gifted ornaments. I still have some from the very first tree I had when I moved out of my parents house..............they are very, very old.

I usually put mine in the fridge on Sunday evening to cook on Thursday but sometimes it's not defrosted all the way. If it's not you can put it in some cold water for an hour or so and it should finish defrosting,

Thanks for sharing DGITW, I don't fly often. Most of my family has moved to Georgia and our business is just here in GA or adjacent states. It's scary when so many people are hollaring, glad it doesn't really affect me that much. I think if you don't want to do this, you probably shouldn't fly. I'd rather land alive than be blown up mid-air, but that's just my personal preference.

Yep, be sure to check the cavity and under the skin in the neck. Don't rush it but don't let it consume the day. Stuffed turkey needs to cook about 30 mins per lb and unstuffed is usually about 20 mins per lb. Buy a meat thermometer, don't rely on the pop up thingy. Enjoy the experience of cooking, if not you will be too tired to enjoy the day. Here's a meat thermometer similar to the one I use.

Have you read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil?? Has a lot of interesting places mentioned. Next time I go I'm going to explore some of those. The Pirate House is nice and they uncovered an underground tunnel during one of the renovations. Lots and lots of good restaurants. Have you done the light house and the fort?? Those were both fun.

Lucky if you get anything else in the mail, just let your insurance company handle it. I think it is bothering you so much because you saw the accident, you witnessed something most of us never want to, you helped, you comforted them and they turn around and try to blame you.
