As of noon, Brownsville Rd, Pine Valley Rd, Hwy 92 (at least from Pine Valley Rd to Hiram) are open. I don't recommend driving if you don't have 4x4, you'll have to dodge a few abandoned vehicles and I saw 2wd's struggle to get traction after stopping at red lights.

Hwy 92 at Brownsville Rd shopping center, Food Depot, Main Moon, Dominos, dry cleaners and Chevron are open. Hwy 92 at Pine Valley Rd, the gas station just up from 92 is open.

I'm sitting at home with a 4x4 truck, wishing that I could help people who are stranded in the area. 4WD doesn't help much on ice, but it's still much better on these roads than 2WD vehicles (I have driven both today.)

If you just want basic alarm and monitoring, SimpliSafe is the cheapest security system that I know of (and no contract as well.) However, I love tying in home automation with the security system. I broke the screen on my Dell Inspiron E1505 and my dad replaced the screen. It isn't really hard to do and there are instructional videos on YouTube. I don't have a family to cook for or eat with, so I eat when I'm hungry. I'm usually hungry when I get off work, so dinner is typically around 5 depending on whether I eat (or pickup something) on the way home, prepare something at home or meet a friend for dinner.

I'm confused if the father beat the boy to death or not. The article says that the boy was reported to have drowned and the police discovered marks on the body that are consistent with a history of abuse. The article does not speculate that the boy was beaten to death. The autopsy will show cause of death as drowning or trauma.

If it wasn't New York City, I suspect that the SUV driver would have been shot the second time that he began to run over a biker. I watched the video online before hearing any news or anything about the incident and knew that it would not end well for the SUV driver. The video linked to in the OP is indeed Faux News because they talked only about the driver being stopped and beaten but didn't bother including that it started after he hit a biker, ran over a biker, then hit another biker and that's why he was beaten. I don't know of any Krispy Kreme locations that are open at 3 AM. The off-duty officer was carjacked at a stoplight near the doughnut store. The article does not mention if he was in uniform or in a police car.

I saw a portion of the parking lot in front of Mia's Wing Max was closed off yesterday afternoon, but when I saw some motorcycles parked inside, I figured it must be bike night. If I had seen this sooner, I would have dropped in during the visitation. I knew Dennis for a short period of time after my mail route was adjusted and I started delivering to his street. He would frequently receive packages for his model train collection, so I saw him often. Dennis was a super nice guy.
