  1. LOL. Sure, marriage is only about money and always has been. What's love got to do with it? Surely, if people married for love, there wouldn't be domestic violence. Must be the money.
  2. 3. I don't know what the meter reader does in your neighborhood, but every time that I've seen them in the Paulding neighborhoods that I deliver mail to, they get out at every house in order.
  4. Who did you use? Any more recommendations or experiences?
  5. AJC - Firefighter injured in Douglasville blaze A firefighter was injured early Tuesday battling a business fire in downtown Douglasville. The firefighter’s condition was not immediately available. The blaze broke out before 3:40 a.m. at Town & Country Fabrics and Upholstery in the 6600 block of Broad Street.
  6. A common misconception of the band Hootie & The Blowfish is that the lead singer (Darius Rucker) was Hootie and the band was The Blowfish. However, the band name came from the nicknames of two college friends. One wore glasses and looked like an owl, the other had puffy cheeks.
  7. To clarify, the lady who was apparently using her phone clipped the Toyota Tacoma from behind, sending it into oncoming traffic. The Tacoma struck an Infiniti G35 head-on, which was then struck by a tractor-trailer, caught fire and completely burned up. The lady driving the G35 died at the scene. The man driving the Tacoma came home from the hospital a week ago. His injuries are a fractured pelvis and torn ACL in both knees. He is in good spirits and plans to be proactive against distracted driving.
  8. "Return to Sender, Not deliverable as addressed, Unable to forward" (UTF) is used when the addressee is no longer at the address and either did not submit a change of address or the COA has expired. If you have verified that the intended recipient is indeed still at that address, there must have obviously been an error. Perhaps the carrier at the destination PO goofed and mistakenly/accidentally included it with other RTS mail. Is there a hand-written markup on it, such as UTF? If it was returned to you in error, you should be able to have it sent without additional postage. Give it to you
  9. I've been in two wrecks where the damage didn't look bad but the vehicle could not be driven. The first involved a Jeep Cherokee, I think it turned out that the fuel cut off switch had been activated. (Yes, we did have to wait for GSP to come. I can't remember now what reason I was told that PCSO couldn't work it.) A few days ago, my Volt could not be driven after a collision, which again was probably due to a safety mechanism.
  10. March 13, 2014 Score: 42, Grade: U March 17, 2014 Score: 91, Grade: A The health inspection score of that restaurant was discussed last week on the day that everything posted would not appear on the new board. The report cited employees returning to the kitchen from the restroom and not washing their hands in the kitchen. I was curious if employees had to wash their hands before leaving the restroom and again when they entered the kitchen or if the inspector actually knew that the employees did not wash their hands before leaving the restroom. One of the issues on the report is "O
  11. I was involved in a car wreck on Friday morning. (The other driver attempted to make a left turn and pulled out right in front of me, causing a T collision.) I felt fine at the time, but shortly after, my neck and back muscles became sore and lasted the rest of the day. I have felt fine since I woke up on Saturday morning. However, friends are still telling me that I need to go get checked out and should call a lawyer. Do you have experience? Should I go to an urgent care center even though I feel fine? Is there any reason to call an attorney?
  12. "Chamoun, 22, posed three years ago for an annual calendar of skiers[.] However, a behind-the-scenes video leaked this week and included footage and photos of Chamoun topless. There are glimpses of nudity in the video, mostly when Chamoun is getting into position for photographs." Chamoun said "The video and photos that you are now seeing are part of the making of, the preparation, it wasn’t supposed to go public. Now that I’m at the Olympic Games, these photos that I never saw before are being shared. It is sad."
  13. So if Gen. Beau Lee had seen his shadow, that is a prediction for six more weeks of winter instead of an early Spring (the first day of Spring is March 20.) What exactly is "early"? Less than six weeks i.e. before March 20? It hasn't been two full weeks yet since Groundhog Day on February 2.
  14. You see it as greedy, I see it as being available to serve customers who may need items and medicines. However, both of us are speculating and neither of us know the actual reason. Given the road conditions, I doubt that profit will be made today.
  15. The Kroger on Ridge Rd was stocked with everything but Campbell's chicken noodle soup at 6 PM today.
  16. Cold weather may impact bills Winter high bill alert The Polar Vortex hits home Old Man Winter has visited us in a number of ways this year, giving us a number of record-breaking cold days with record-breaking amounts of electricity used. As a result of the colder than usual temperatures, your home's heating system had to work harder than usual to keep you warm, leading to more energy consumption. Don't be alarmed when you review your February bill and find an increase. Remember, this increase reflects the amount of energy used in January during the cold spells. If you
  17. My house uses natural gas so I don't expect an increased bill. I received an email newsletter this morning from Greystone. I didn't have time to read it but I believe the headline was something about higher winter bills. I'll look at it again when I get home.

    why?

Yeah, the only things I don't like about the mobile version is that it doesn't show subtitles or who started the thread. I'll keep my fingers crossed that when Pubby upgrades the forum software, IP.Board will have improved the mobile version as well.
  19. November Rain

    why?

This thread, Is there an ongoing pcom problem? I don't see the need to design apps for each mobile platform when the mobile version of the site works just fine. No, that is not a bug on your tablet when you are logged in, that is the mobile version. If you don't like it, click on "Full Version" on the bottom-left corner of the page. To replicate the "Recent Topics" button, open the menu at the top-right corner and select New Content FYI, the mobile skin can be experienced on your computer by changing the skin at the bottom-left corner of the page to IP.Board Mobil
  20. The water line to my kitchen sink freezes every year when the outside temperature gets around 20 or below. I suspect it's too close to the garage door below. Thankfully, I haven't had anything burst.
  21. For anyone who's listening to the scanner and wondering what it means when the dispatcher says 10-50 or 10-90, etc., here's a list of the 10 codes
  22. I am a mailman. I was able to deliver the first 1/3 of my route on Tuesday before giving in to the slick streets due to sliding and not getting traction when trying to pull away from mailboxes. I'm glad that I decided to go back before the streets got even worse, as a carrier in Dallas rolled over in her mail truck. Thursday morning, not much mail had arrived at the post office. We were instructed to deliver as much mail from Tuesday as we could. The roads and neighborhoods on my route were still mostly covered in snow/ice and I didn't want to take chances in the mail truck. I was able to
  23. You do have a valid point that an evacuation would certainly be a disaster. Just look at footage of coastal states evacuating before a hurricane and the movie Independence Day. However, I want to point out that the highway disaster Atlanta experienced this week was not only because of the high volume of traffic on the roads. The icy roads, jack-knifed trucks and other wrecks are what turned the highways into a parking lot. Even if everybody wasn't leaving Atlanta at the same time, they still would have wound up stuck on the road, going nowhere. High traffic moves slowly, blocked traffic doesn'
  24. January 12, 1982 was a Tuesday, according to Windows XP calendar. http://snowjam82.com/ "The Storm of the Century, also known as the '93 Superstorm, or the (Great) Blizzard of 1993, was a large cyclonic storm that formed over the Gulf of Mexico on March 12, 1993, and dissipated in the North Atlantic Ocean on March 15." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993_Storm_of_the_Century
  25. Confirm that she went out to the water meter in the front yard and is unable to turn the handle to the left. If she doesn't see the handle, it may be buried under dirt and debris. If the handle is rusted and breaks off, pliers can be used to turn off the valve. I did this a couple weeks ago for vacant houses with water running down the driveway.
