I'm not a fan either. I don't use gift cards often -- usually because I forget about them. The Visa gift cards are more difficult to use than store cards. You have to know the exact balance on the card or you can't use the full amount. Also, I found one the other day and called to check the balance. It had a couple dollars left on it but when I tried to use it the transaction would not process because the card was expired. When I finally got a real person on the phone they told me the card could be used if the cashier would key in a valid exp. date. The cashier refused. I just don't li

No, I'm not offended. However, I do find it interesting when people agrue over the use of a symbol when they don't even know what the symbol means. Letters are symbols for sounds. Native Americans first used symbols to represent full syllables. Would you be offended if someone wished you a Merry Christmas by writing it in another Language like Hebrew? Would you be offended if someone wished you Merry Christmas by drawing you a picture? How about if a child spelled it incorrectly? Probably not. More than likely you would be grateful for the good wishes. "X" is a symbol, just

Mostly, I've left the item at my husband's business. I give the information to his office staff and the buyer pays and picks it up there.

My grandmother likes to read short stories but her eyesight is getting worse. I ordered her a large print subscription to Reader's Digest and National Geographic. I'm also getting her a book light and one of those page sized magnifying sheets. Since she's on blood thinners she's always cold. My kids are getting her an electric throw blanket for her to use in her chair while she reads.

I bet if you asked him he could come up with a gift certificate. He can buy the pre-printed forms at Office Max and just fill in the blanks. As long as your buddy signs it and sees his signature when the certificate is redeemed all is good. Anyway, it's just a thought.

If your co-workers live near you I suggest you try to support local small businesses. Last year I bought small gift certificates from a new little cafe that opened up the street and was struggling to get new customers in the door. I gave them to teachers and bus drivers. Everyone can always use gift cards from the large box stores. I just like to give certificates from the small ones. Somehow, it feels more personal. Also, I like to know I'm helping small businesses by introducing new customers.

Each of my ornaments has a sentimental story. I could sit and talk to you for hours about when and where I got each one. I choose all white lights because they don't take away from the ornaments. Instead, they brighten the tree and "showcase" the ornamets. I like trees that have one color just as much as I like trees with multi colors. It's just that white lights work best for the "story" my tree tells.

Connecting your laptop/computer to your TV

I did it with a HDMI cable. You just have to change the input on the TV menu. -
Ticonderoga pencils are the best. Gift giving at schools has gotten out of hand. When it's 27 degrees outside Starbucks coffee is like gold. I need a flicker light bulb for my porch. When the kids go back to school I hope the teachers don't ask them to write a paper about what they got for Christmas. It's likely there will be many fewer and smaller gifts this year. The deer ate my pansies. No, that doesn't say panties! Well, what are you looking for? Oh, and by the way are you still pursuing the school to provide information about the knife incident with your chil

I can provide a long list of material things I want but I'd trade them all for a couple days without family drama. Ideally, I'd settle for a functioning remote control with a human mute button. How about an invisible extension arm that reaches out slaps people? Why does Christmas make people sooooooooo wierd?

My poor grandfather got arrested for shoplifting when he was 85. Yes, 85. He went in the drug store to get a prescription filled and while he was waiting he picked up a bottle of aspirin and remembered he needed a few more things. My grandfather only had one hand so he put the aspirin in his pocket while he grabbed a shopping basket and hooked it on his nub. He wandered through the store and picked up some toilet paper, chewing gum and denture cream. When the pharmacist called his name he went and paid for the prescription as well as everything else in the basket. On the way out he was "

Brown the meat and cook with Zattarains spiced rice for a creole dish. You can add some shrimp, sausage, and or crawfish for pizazz.

Are you going from phone to phone or are you trying to go from computer to phone? If you are going from phone to phone my kids figured out how to do it by turning on the bluetooth capabilities. They have to do this because I deactivated the multi-media on their accounts.

I understand. I sort of do the same thing. I have the grown up tree in the living room and a smaller tree in my bedroom where all the extra special kid-made ornaments are. Each of the kids have their own little 3 foot tree in their rooms. They decorate them they way they want and love showing them off to their friends. One is decorated with Barbie clothes, one with 10 pounds of tinsel, and the other one is decorated with pics. cut out from teen magazines (mostly Twilight actors).

First of all, happy birthday to your baby. If they aren't allowed to have his cupcakes until tomorrow try to spin it that this is a great thing. Now he gets to stretch his special day out and celebrate it for TWO days. You celebrate it at home with him today and he celebrates it at school with his classmates tomorrow. Good luck.

I've used it for years, not for health benefits but because I like it. Yeah, I know I'm wierd. I add a splash to my orange juice in the morning because I like that extra "pucker". Try it in OJ and see what you think. -
Just wondering what your plans are today?

I had a butt roast with potatoes, carrots, and an onion in the crock pot since noon. My house smell so yummy. We'll eat when the cornbread is done. -
Yes, it is a good morning! I'm headed out to my grandmother's house to put up her Christmas tree and decorations. I am sooooooo looking forward to spending the day with her.

Too funny! I love the pilot's review. -
I picked up on that too but didn't say anything. Isn't that kind of like him buying you a vacuum?

When my kids were younger they wrapped gifts for teachers and friends in butcher paper or newspaper and colored all over them for decoration. Since my husband and I were the first ones to give our parents grandchildren I decreed to them that we would NOT be visiting them on Christmas. Christmas is for the kids and under no circumstances would we make them leave their toys and spend Christmas day bouncing from house to house. As a compromise, I get up around 5:00 Christmas morning and cook breakfast for my family and all the grandparents. They come to our house around 7:00 and eat bre

LPPT: I have another warming trick for you. THERMACARE -- the're heated adhesive patches used for sore muscles. You can buy them in a red box at the pharmacy. They're most commonly used for monthly cramps. When I play winter tennis I put one on the small of my back and another one between my shoulder blades. It keeps me warm while I play and it also keeps my muscles from tightening up during the changeovers. This weather is great. I love when it gets cold. You just have to know how to work with it.
