  1. He did a very good rendition of "Old School" too, Dana. A little corny but he said he liked the message and drew a round of cheers when he got to the final line "she said everybody does it, well I don't care if they do, I'm from the old school, where hearts stay true."
  2. I cannot remember the name right this minute but the market across from Scoggins MS on Mulberry Rock Road is first class. You know one of those places you go too often but give directions like "Go to the big tree and take a right can't miss it." I have his card and have had deer processed there for about three years. The owner is an ex meat market manager at Publix for 20 years. Very clean, 100 on the score card, very high quality meats , will make any cut you want, very friendly. He prepares everything daily using grain fed angus and pork. He is creative and has specials pretty much everyday
  3. The Nazi Juggernaut as you describe it started as a bunch of Jew hating, class envying, beer drinking, brown shirts in the local bars. They rose to power using intimidation and propaganda until they gained political power giving them access to the resources and industrialization power of the Rhine Valley. This JV Islamic squad (your leaders description not mine) could very well do the same thing by gaining control of Middle eastern resources and buying military capability with the profits as well as commandeering existing equipment. We have already seen it happen in Iran and Iraq where radical
  4. Pubby did the allies defeat Hitler by saying it was a European problem? Or Maybe a Jewish problem? Maybe it is a Muslim problem but deep down they want to spread Islam every bit as much as these fanatics. When these idiots start attacking killing Americans (9/11) then it is my damn problem too. They (the fanatics) are cave men and only understand cave man tactics. This intellectual BS is great for conversation but does not amount to anything but a bunch of hot air when put in practice. The leftists regime does not understand the enemy because they try to approach them like it was a college de
  5. It amazes me that people (your POTUS for one) are so naïve to think you can negotiate with fanatics. ISIS, ISIL, radical Islam whatever you call it only understand one thing. Kill or be killed. If they know that they will get their asses killed, not scolded, KILLED anytime they decide to force their radical beliefs on others they understand that. That is all they understand. They Hate Christians, they Hate Jews, they Hate Americans, they Hate infidels (which is pretty much anyone who is not as radical as them). You cannot pussy foot around with these murderers. The Romans knew it, the Templars
  6. Went to Milltown again last night and saw John Conlee. Have not seen him live since the early eighties at Rainbow Music Hall on Austell Road. The venue and sound was good as usual. John did all his hits us old folks remember (Rose Colored Glasses, Miss Emily's Picture, Common Man, Busted, Only in it for the Love, I Don't Remember Loving You, Lady Lay Down, Back Side of Thirty). He also did a very good cover of Vince Gill's Bread and Water and a Guy Clark (one of the greatest songwriter's ever) cover of Things that Work. He closed with Amazing Grace. Good show.
  7. Another evil corporation cutting costs and passing it on to the consumer. Gary runs a pretty good co-op over there. They cut these costs while adding jobs not cutting them. Their rates are some of the lowest in the state. Their linemen have won several world lineman championships in Kansas City. Eventually they will build a new headquarters in Paulding County adding to our tax base. Pretty good outfit overall.
  8. I am very supportive of LE and public safety in general. However this is not the only case of total incompetence I have heard of or actually experienced with the PCSD. If the leaders of this county want to make it another Gwinnett County with airports, industrial jobs, commercial jobs, transportation, etc. maybe they should get their heads out of their backsides and actually show they can run at least one facet of government with any competence. Yes I know the High Sheriff runs the day to day at PCSD but the BOC has plenty of stroke in how things are run.
  9. The question was a simple one. The answer is yes. The question was not on the merits of the case.
  10. You can sue anyone, anytime, for anything. Winning the case is totally different but yes you can sue.
  11. I seldom go that way but I do remember him. Have not thought of him in years glad he is still with us. Always made me smile.
  12. OK don't laugh. WTH is a photo bucket? I don't do social media so I usually don't post pictures except for work which I just attach.
  13. I have some pictures but someone will have to teach me how to attach them. I tried to attach as file but was limited to 250 KB.
  14. Although I am sure I was not missed on here because honestly I do not participate that much. I spent seven days in Marathon Key Florida last week and I am either recharged or totally useless. Spent quality time with my best friend of thirty years (my wife),rented a boat and fished four straight days, took our own private sunset cruises and watched the sunset from the Atlantic and Gulf, ate like kings, no schedule, no computer, no phone, sunny everyday highs mid to upper 80's, lows upper 70's to 80, several cold adult beverages, toured Keys from Key Largo to Key West, rained one hour one night
  15. Blame the coach on this one. Reminded me of playing not lose instead of playing to win. Seriously bad call on the field goal vs. TD call at the end of the game. Hey coach your defense is not the iron curtain and Matty Ice is not Joe Montana. Take the seven.
  16. Do not know this dude from Adam but the last time some one got in my face like that I was escorted from the premises by the City of Atlanta PD and he was getting up off the ground.
  17. I am sure all these kids are great but at my age and demeanor, $100.00 an hour plus a half gallon of Jack Daniels black label.
  18. Heartbroken I absolutely loved her. She always held her own with any male co-star (even at a very young age with the incredible Sir Charles Laughton). My mom is a big film buff and I come by the love of film through her. Me and my mother were discussing film beauties a couple of weeks ago. My mom always thought the ultimate film beauty was Elizabeth Taylor and I said give me either Vivian Leigh (circa GWTW) or Maureen O'Hara (entire career). This lady could act, not just another pretty face. Rest in peace to a beautiful talented actress.
  19. Have been there three or four times. Positives, family atmosphere, comfortable seating, good sound system, video monitors for rows farther back, good concessions, very friendly folks. Negatives, family atmosphere (depends on your point of view),there are only one or two restrooms, no adult beverages allowed, concerts are pretty laid back nothing rowdy. Nothing fancy but a good venue.
  20. While simply no comment would have been fine its your loss not mine.
  21. This discussion has been on here before, maybe not Blazing Saddles but Mel Brooks in general. His projects have a huge following but I never really cared for anything he has done. I "get" his humor I just don't find it that funny. In my opinion and only my opinion I really don't care for anything he has done. I can watch BS and Young Frakenstein but only if nothing else is on. JMO.
  22. Saw Don from the third row last night in Bremen. Another off my bucket list. Have always like his music but had never got the chance to see him live. He was in great voice and it could have been 1975 as far as his vocals go. Five piece band, sat on a stool and sang one hit after another. No fireworks, no light show, no dancers, no profanity laced lyrics, no hip hop infusions, no auto tune, no taped tracks, just pure talent and a voice like no one else. The audience was very appreciative and I think he really enjoyed himself. When he would get a big applause (which he did for almost every song)
  23. The man was Charles Rutland. He was a long time BOD at GreyStone Power, a cattle man, a hay farmer, a devoted family man and a very good man. His loss will be felt by a lot of folks who just don't realize it yet. RIP Rut.
  24. While I usually agree with you on most points this is an exception. Newt is a quitter. Newt quit on the people of this country. Call it a grudge, call it ridiculous but I was raised with the moral intestinal fortitude that you don't quit when you have committed to do something. I served on a BOD for nine years (three terms) and wanted out bad at seven years but had given my word that I would serve so I sucked it up for two very long miserable years. It is what a man does. Newt is by all accounts brilliant on many subjects but I have no respect for him as a man.
  25. I have a very good friend who is in his late 70's. His absolute favorite song in the world is "Burned Like a Rocket". Every time we are in a juke joint I play it on the juke box for him. As a matter of fact I like the song a lot too. RIP BJR.
