  1. It's all about the food chain. 30 years ago fire ants moved into this area. That led to armadillos following their food 10 years later. Then right behind them came the coyotes. Well, what eats coyotes? Gators do. I give it a year or two before we're over run by Cajuns! And folks think gators are dangerous, wait till some pokes a "selfie stick" at a Cajun. Then they'll be trying to cage and relocate them. Back on subject. Yeah, the "beautiful people" who live up and down the Hooch will never learn the ways of nature. They'll never understand that THEY are the interlopers.
  2. The Mexican rest. on the south east corner of 92 & 278. I can't remember the name, but they have good food.
  3. Why do think that the "Comet Trail" was so over built? One day soon that'll be a rapid rail from the Atl. to Smoke City.
  4. Two birds, one stone. Since the same folks will be attending both.
  5. I like mine fields my self. They work without having a bunch of agents on duty = cheaper.
  6. Hey, you're welcome to hang out. It's just a little hole in the ground, but it's a lot more comfortable and better prepped than Marvin's in the movie R.E.D. And I've NEVER been a subject of ANY C.I.A. test, or at least I don't thin..er.remem..er.. oh well, there are those lapses and twerks every now and then. But I've been assured that those were just side effects from the M.R.E.'s and there was that toad down in Columbia that looked soooo tasty at the time.
  7. Look up guberment and that's the answer you'll find.
  8. Mix of snow & lite rain here at 37 deg. And CC I'm set to party for a month if need be!
  9. Yeah SG, back after the "Flood" my buddy who lives in Red Hill Ala. just off of Lake Martin thought he was being smart when he told me" that they knew that we needed water up here, so they just sent it to us." I e-mailed him back telling "thanks but we've had our fill so we were sending the left overs back, with a little extra." It took about four days for him to see what I was talking about, they're still digging trash cans, basket balls, and all other manor of junk that floated down from here. I used to get in fights every time I went down there, some one would say something smart a**ed abou
  10. Better be quite about it. If Ala. & Fla. hear anything, they'll start crying to the Feds. and it'll be pushed back another 50 years, like all of the plans that Ga. has tried to implement.
  11. Freezer's full of meat, fridge is full of beer, cupboard full of rum, and propane take is full. Bring it on.
  12. Per WSB TV this morning, it looks like there has been some arrests in this case.
  13. Class of '83 at a high school not far from here. I "worked" my way through middle and high school, sharpening knives for my friends at a dollar a blade. They would bring them to me at school, and some times I'd go home carrying a bag of up to 10. Once I became able to drive to school, I never had less than two guns in my car. The biggest concern there was getting punched by one of the girls with a dang key chain in their hand.
  14. Me too, one of my favorites back then. One that I really wish that someone would re-run.
  15. Your "mystery beam" is there to keep the rafters straight and lined up on their centers. From your drawing, the wall doesn't appear to be, and shouldn't be load bearing. Move some of the insolation to make sure that the rafters are not in 2 pieces joined above the wall, if they are then you'll have to build a "real" beam there before demo. To be safe, build a temp. wall close to the one to be removed. Make sure that the temp. can be removed easely, one stud at a time and pull the studs out slowly listening for any creeking and cracking. At worst you should only break or crack a little sheet ro
  16. His Mother taught him. No Kidding! She was well known to whoop most of the men in the surrounding areas,
  17. And the scariest part of all of this, is that not only are they allowed to drive, but to breed as well. Not saying that stupid is past down in the genes, just that it is past down in the raising. I guess Forest said it best "Stupid is as stupid does."
  18. Any one interested in having a fun time, head to the park on the "Hooch" in Franklin. If you have a boat, all the better. The white bass are starting to run up from West Point and should be at the ball park in the next week or so. As you'll see in the pic, the big stripers are already there. We caught a 12lb.,10lb. (pic),7lb., and a 6lb. on light tackle, plus a few small whites that were a head of the pack run. A fun couple of hours, and well worth the hour each way drive.
  19. I just glad that no one had a camera phone on them back then! Between Aikers Mill, Mabelton, and The Silver Screen, I'm considered a "Rocky Horror Whore". 327 times, mostly in costume! How many of you remember getting your "V" on your first night?
  20. If you've just got to crash, I don't think you could find a better place than a golf course. I mean you've got all of those doctors there, and if lucky, you might take out a lawyer.... or twelve.
  21. Yeah, I was joking too. Just glad that he's O.K. One of the last times they got me on anything that flies, I had to be carried away. But that was in northern Iraq, and long ago. The medics made the same joke.
