  1. Like over at NDM, the red meat / steaks are prob. from S.A., but they do know their beef there. If there is a prob. it is that it's TOO fresh and needs to be air - aged just a little. If folks that spend tons of money on "aged beef" knew just what that meant. LOL! Yeah it's Austell International or Farmers Market, like I said, I just found them today. Their web site is still under construction.
  2. Having been stationed all over this rock, I have learned to shop international markets for a lot of my goodies. For several years I've been driving over to Spring Rd. and the Nam Dae Mun Int. Market for my steaks, pork, seafood, and some veggies. No store around here could compare to their prices, rib-eyes from 5.99 to 7.99 as compared to the K store at 9.99 if you bought a half a loin on their best sale. And don't get me started on how cheap NDM yard bird was. Well I'm now a convert. There IS a place sort of on this side of the world that has the same prices. Prob. the same folks own it, I h
  3. I haven't seen anything after the two females were found. The post on GON got all heated up over having boats that "dangerous" on a public lake as crowded as Lanier and the guy in the know quit posting. You know how it is, bank fishermen and swimmers hate all boats, boat fishermen hate skiers and pleasure boaters and jet skis, and most don't have a working knowledge of boating safety or etiquite.
  4. HD has a "siding removal tool". It's got a red handle an is around $6.00. I think the model is # WSR1. Start at the top, just above the door. Hook the tool under the lip and gently pull the bottom of of the siding down and out from under the "hook edge" on the top of the lower piece. With a small flat bar, slide the lip loose far enough to work under it. On top of next piece down you'll see roofing nails in the slots holding the siding on. Gently remove enough nails with the flat bar to work the piece below, prob. about 3-4 feet. Now unhook the bottom of that piece and bow it so that the end w
  5. In no way am I advocating not wearing PFD's when in a moving boat. The fact is that at the speeds that those types of boats can run, no normal PFD would help. At best all one would do is keep the body afloat and easier to find, unless it gets ripped off from the impact. These folks were very experienced, but just had all the bad things that can happen when at that speed happen all at once. It's all very sad.
  6. A friend of the boat owner just posted over on GON that they found the to females around mid morning. He's the one that I got the pics from. Said that there were three boat running together and as they rounded into cocktail cove the outside boat caught a wave and then a gust of wind under the sponsons. When they hit the fallowing wave it was at a bad angle and the port side sponson dug in rolling the boat a couple of times side over side. The sponcers of the poker run have asked that all classes of boats stay below 60 mph during the run. This, unfortunately, throws a bad light on a usually saf
  7. Pics from boat wreck. Not trying to be morbid here, just a PSC.
  8. The boat was owned by a well known drag racer Art McMahan. Witnesses say that the boat was at high speed when it flipped over backwards, not long after the "cheese burger in paradise" beach bash and launch prior to the poker run tomorrow. If I can get the photos I hve to load I will shortly.
  9. I've been known to use my high F coronet or one of those emergency air horns. A word on the air horns... make SURE everyone in the house KNOWS what's going on! I dang near heart attacked my 'Ol Man. The sad part is, that nothing we do works. The phone will only carry so many decibels just so one can't hurt some one, so all we really do is make our selves feel better. Bring back the "tele-zapper"!
  10. One man now found, no word on condition, 4 still missing.
  11. SOOOOOO sick of unwanted calls! I got a robo the other day from a LOCAL NUMBER and waited till I was told which button to push. After I got a "person" on line, I calmly as his name and who he worked for. He hesitated. then gave me what I'm sure was a bunch of bull. Now, I'm going to tell you the diatribe that I went into completely, but I told him that I had a non-list, non-pub number that was on every no call list there is and if I got another call from them that I'd turn it over to the Georgia A.G office. I was told to go have sex with my self! After that all bets were off and I may have me
  12. My younger ( college educated) brother bought one of those "G.F" bird turners about a year ago. After trying to figure out how to make it work, including an attempt at cooking a hen, he gave up and gave it to me. After first taking all of the parts out, I pulled out the drip tray to find a some what burnt book on how to use it. After cleaning the book to where it was legible, I proceeded to cook my first whole fryer. One of the best birds that I've ever had. Been trying new recipes for 6 months, each better than the one before ( no ducks yet ), but I'm still torn on whether to tell him how muc
  13. WSB is reporting a boat turn over near "cocktail cove" with 5 persons missing. I seems to be (in my words) an off shore racing type boat colored red on black. This is just a FYI for those in the area or headed that way.
  14. And yet the so called media still manage to get so much wrong. One would think that if they took as much time as they do, that they might manage to get at least half of what they report correct.
  15. Yeah, but the next 5 - 10 years would sure be fun! And then you could take a write off on your taxes as a "business loss" Hee! Hee!

    Direct TV

Over 20 years ago I switched from comcrap to Direct and haven't had a problem from them. You couldn't grind me up, mix me with beer and pour me on another t.v. provider.
  17. Didn't know. I generally try to stay out of any town or city limits as best that I can. This morning was the first time that I've ever been in the "new" govt. building parking lot. Only times I even see it is on the way to or from Brushy Branch.
  18. Not sure, but South Main was closed right at the new Govt. building today.
  19. Yeah, dropped by there and they were still hooking up the computers. Just my luck to need it a week and a half before they open. If any one is interested, it took me less than 20 min. at Cobb Co. and the parking lot was so full that I almost turned around to come back another day. And I guess that this works for any DDS location, PRE - REGISTER on line before you go, Badda Bing and your out off there. Oh well, at least I won't have to worry about it for 16 more years, 8 for this one and then 8 for the next one on line. By that time we'll all need pilots licenses for our "Jetson" cars any way.
  20. Headed out to get my drivers license later today and while making sure that I've got everything that I need, I noticed on the Ga.DDS site that the Paulding County DDS at the court house is now open. I thought that it wouldn't open for another month or so. Does anyone know for sure that it's open or not? Thanks in advance for any info.
  21. Sorry, that was supposed to read "1/3 of a football field a second", 100 feet per second = 68 mph. Show me a road around here where they run slower than that, given the chance.LOL!
  22. Yeah, we've got my Mom a little cheap cell. The only times that she turns it on is if she breaks down or if shes at the store and forgets what she went after. You have to be careful and not let it die, like she did. I still haven't convinced her that a battery drains down, even if it's turned off. I have to sneak her phone out and charge it about once a month just to make sure it's not dead if she needs it.
  23. So, I'm old fashioned. My phone won't even receive or send text, but it's safe. It stays where I couldn't reach it even if I wanted to. Ain't nothing any one has to say more important than paying attention to the deadly weapon that we all think we have total control over. Traveling a football field every second, even when paying complete attention to what one is doing, plus what all of the other idiots out there are doing, NO ONE is in total control. O.K., I'll get off my soap box now. Good luck out there. Sent from my computer, on my desk, at home.
  24. I was set to take my 84 yo Mom to Cedartown, but she wanted to go Cobb this past week and she gets what she wants. In and out in less than 10 min. They built a big new office where that little trailer use to be. I pre - registered her on line and she had no prob. what so ever. I'll give our new office a shot next month, if it's open.
