  1. Hey Low, I could see them last night. Maybe you will get to see them after all.
  2. Well I am excited too. Does that make me a Raisinett? LOL
  3. AND they used our tax dollars to screw all of us. Your injustice does effect us all.
  4. I am so very sorry that yet another fine family has been stomped down by this corrupt county. You will find happiness else where, just as we had to. They are now taking advantage of my 86 year old Mother. I have too many horror stories from Paulding County. We can always hope it will change. I have many generations of roots here. Thad, I hope you know you and your family have touched many people here. We do care, and wish we could have done something to make it better. I wish you peace, my friend.
  5. I watched her a while late yesterday and was pretty sure she was ready to lay. Sneaky thing did it while I was on my way home.
  6. The Bentwater Cedarcrest Yard Sale Facebook page had a found dog listed, but was short haired black female.
  7. Congratulations on the beautiful baby. Merry Christmas.
  8. Calm down. They have owned that land for decades. Getting excited now will not stop anything. It's for sure Paulding County does not have the funds to buy back any of that property. Developing any part of it would have to be beneficial to them to regain the expense. (remarkable concept, maybe Paulding can learn from that) Lack of access had been a deterrent to it's development for a long time. They may gain access through the section of the old railroad that was not donated for The Silver Comet Trail. You may want to look into that. It seems it has been mentioned here before. Rapid rail
  9. Paulding education was pathetic 51 years ago when I started here. I started in 3rd grade and was being taught stuff I had learned in 1st grade in Cobb County. In Paulding Co. High School there was nothing done to help direct career paths. Counselors were useless. all we were encouraged to do was "graduate". When my children graduated from there it was the same way. We were poor, we had no other school choice, but mine were also taught at home to enhance their educations. I know students that graduated there, and honestly could not spell at all. The lack of planning in Paulding was detrime
  10. That is why the Red Top Mountain extension was done (my friend of of friend's first cousin told me) was so traffic would be routed north on 278 to 113. Then onto I-75. Trucks do not like 41. So Paulding won't even be selling diesel fuel to them either. Made pretty good sense, too.
  11. Paulding need LEADERSHIP, people with forward thinking, who want to plan for a better future. Hwy 92 is a state highway. It needed to be 4-laned many years ago. In order for things like that to happen, there has to be studies done, facts documented and a plan, with a request submitted to the correct places. you have to have representation at the meetings that deal with those issues. If it had been, the state would be supporting the project. That is one 1 TINY issue that has not been handled. There are so many more. Until Paulding has determined, qualified people in those positions it will
  12. I highly recommend Floor & Decor if you purchase the materials yourself. The one in Kennesaw has many display rooms you can look at, to help you know what you like & don't as well. It sure help to actually be able to see and touch, when you are selecting materials.
  13. The owner's of the company I work for told me Monday, that I am no longer needed here.I can stay until I find something else, as long as I will accept 1/2 my pay. So nice of them, right?
  14. They think they are horrible, because they all tried to use them in areas where the soil did not perk for regular field line, or there was not enough room for regular lines. They are not magic. Hunter's Walk was a perfect example of where field lines all struggle. I was suggesting that the washer alone could be put on a system of it's own. Two loads a week should not hurt a good system though. Detergents & bleach do affect the enzymes needed to break down the waste material some, though. If your home is that old, you may need new field lines. After many years of use and the slight amou
  15. It is not actually legal to dump grey water on your property, even though it does work great for your plants. Taking the washer off the septic tank is a perfect solution for many people. It can be done with the chamber type septic system. They can put a couple of chambers together, then and end plate that holds the water in them. Then a connecting pipe will take the overflow water (less the lint) into a few more chambers for leaching away. Much less expensive that all new field lines.

    Walraven's

Since TC Walraven passed away, his son lives there. I used to help plant & prune the trees & grape vines. I have not seen the place in a long time. I loved TC like a father and miss him dearly. I wish the place was being cared for, but do not know if any of the red cedars are still small enough to fit in a house anymore. NOTHING smells better that those trees at Christmas! If anyone finds out, please let us know.
  17. I have been in the Acworth location and was not impressed with the fact they had dog treats right near the door. The stench from them kept me from looking around very long. The Cartersville location is better. Meats are pricier than West Metro usually. They do put together "package special" that are a great deal. I like that they do many specialty sausages and great cuts of meat. I have had deer meat processed into sausages like: jalapeno cheddar, summer smoked and kielbasa. Well worth the cost for those!
  18. You cannot comprehend the amount of water 1 downspout can pour, unless you have ever used a rain barrel. Check to see where they are dumping and what direction the water flows. If it goes any where near your field lines, redirect it. I have seen when small berms needed to be put in to change the water direction. hopefully you can just put an extension on the end and turn it away. All this is even if that is your problem. But, start with the simple things first. Just take a look. With the soil already saturated it's hard for the lines to work anyway. The more water, the harder it gets. Just
  19. Found out a lot of times the gutter downspouts are directed right over the field line area, which keeps them from working correctly. The tank and lid should not really allow water in, but if the field lines are saturated it could definitely cause you problems. Even if you get it pumped, also check for the cause of the problem. I am a firm believer in adding the enzymes on a regular basis.
  20. I have always believed that if you do not see the Keys from a boat, you have not seen the Keys! Glad you had a great trip.
  21. 2200 jobs!! I have heard that you can create your own avatar as you play. It can stay and compete even when you are not there. So, you don't have to be there to die?? Have you heard about the tower roller coaster they are building? It's supposed to be the tallest in the northern hemisphere. It's supposed to be part of Lake Point. It's not just I-75. It's the route of I-75, I think they hope to capture a lot of travelers. I-75 has a LOT of travelers, snowbirds, commuters, and such. Growth seems to find me, where ever I go. Dang, look what I did to Cedarcrest Road.
  22. I actually believe well over 1/2 of our tax dollars is wasted. Through all the tough times, we have all made cut backs, watched our spending, but no one is held accountable for our tax money.
  23. We used Crestmark Roofing & Construction. Could not have had better results. Were very quick, cleaned up very nicely. very professional. Gary Yates was very upfront & honest. 770-577-9665
