It was supposed to be good luck to have the "scratch" in your chicken dumplings. When you scooped them up and had the foot, you were the lucky ones. I learned to scoop from the top. I think I was luckier when I didn't get one. In Mexico they would have whole chickens on a rotisserie and the "scratch" underneath to bake in all the juices dripping on them.

I would like to take this opportunity to pay condolences to her family. Joy was always a woman of true grace, composure, compassion and love for all things. She was as kind a person as I have ever known. She will be sorely missed by all that know her. May she rest in heavenly peace.

UGH! been there done this one too. Junk everywhere, non-running autos, people living in campers without facilities.There was even a genuine "Scooby-Doo" van up on blocks. Went to the trouble to file multiple complaints, take pictures, etc. Even when they came out, they tried to say no one was living in the campers. I had to point out the TURDS in the yard coming from the dump hose. GOOD LUCK!!

All the hard work and good jobs these officers have done will be down the drain if our local DA & judge decide it's better for these young men to just go home. I have seen way too much of that happen over the years. Poor officers get tired of arresting the same thugs over & over, just to see them back doing the same things. I am not saying these guys have a history. I am just saying the court system tends to NOT put a stop to some things that happen over & over.
