  1. Awww MAN!!! Now I want another one!!! My baby turns 6 tomorrow. It's my last day with a 5 year old! GREAT JOB, MOMMY!!
  2. Go up 278 and turn left on Goldmine road. There is a sign marking a trail to the lake. The WMA itself is more then 90,000 acres. Marked trail maps are available at Walmart in the sporting goods department.
  3. WOAH, word for word what happened to me!!! Only this was within the last ten years, and it was a local business owner. My husband got fired anyway and I did tell my husband. He told the owner's wife, hence getting fired. My husband had to take this business completely off his resume. In fact, he made a total career change. The perv continues to harrass his female employees, some underage. I have been able to steer several neighborhood teenagers from accepting a job there, but not just because of what I said. I don't have to say much, other then, "I'd rethink that if I were you". The guy'
  4. I totally agree and I wonder just how desperate this woman was to try something so stupid. It's not like people get away with much these days, anyway. At least, not enough to be worth the trouble. (In my opinion) It seems obvious that no planning went into this. That particular bank branch does not have an "easy out" route, so she'd have to circle the bank to exit into the shopping center, then get to the main road...which was Mars Hill, not exactly a 4-lane. She may have gotten away for a few hours if she had thought about the get away. THAT'S why I think she made a split second choice,
  5. The first line made me laugh! The rest of your post was like you took the words right out of my head. Surepip has a gift with words.
  6. Could it have been a rock thrown? Did you find a pebble or any debris on the floorboards or inside your car?
  7. That. I second the don't burn bridges advice...I also think that if you were treated poorly, you don't need to state that's the reason, they'll figure it out with the high turnover rate. Or they won't and the business will suffer. Either way, you're on to bigger and better, so look forward to the future and close that door to the past. Good luck and Congrats on the new job!
  8. Congrats on your Anniversary! I like how you said: "and we still like each other". I can relate to that! I hope you have many, many more happy years together!
  9. I'm silently giving my support to all of you. Spunkywoman, and everyone, I can relate to these feelings, though I haven't lost my spouse. My losses were close, but not that close. For me, it was the speed of which I lost almost everyone that actually "knew" me and loved me unconditionally. One day I felt very sure of my place, the next I felt completely alone and like I was suddenly without guidence. I literally force myself to get up and go face the day sometimes, but the point is I do. My favorite band is U2. On their most recent album, there is a song about depression called "Br
  10. I would use it because I work out of state. In those cases, I would not have to make sure to check my account for sales twice a day, nor would I have to carry stock with me to stop at a post office and get it mailed in my allotted time. That's just one example of the convience factor for me. Some people have nothing better to do then sit around and watch their listings, though.
  11. Yes! Thanks! I've been supplimenting our income thanks to ebay and have had moderate success so far. Maybe this program will help me make more?
  12. Still praying, but this sounds hopeful. Thanks for the updates.
  13. My husband saw a Children's Lifeflight helicopter take off from Scroggins and 61 in the last half hour. I hopped on here to find out what happened, but didn't see it yet. Does anyone know if it was an accident and/or where? Prayers for everyone's safety.
  14. Butterfly Lion, just some friendly advice. Pick your battles. We understand you're going through some hard times and SOME of us are here if you need to vent, need support, or just need someone to listen. Others will use any and every opportunity to attack you, even over little things like semantics. Please get off line, go outside for a brisk walk or something. Call me if you still have my number, we can gripe and complain together. Just get off pcom for a while and let the naysayers find someone else to pick on.
  15. Thanks! Y'all can close this one.
  16. How do I post in the "Got the Goods" forum? When I go over there, it says I can't start a new topic in there. Is that for only paying members? I have some concert tickets for next weekend that someone else may want since I am unable to attend. (I'm not even asking face value). Can I post this and maybe a mod can move it or delete it if I am not allowed to sell something on here? And if anyone's interested, they can PM me for details?
  17. Not exactly the "better" choice....while cleaner...they have their share of crazies and druggies too. Hubby and I went in there on our way back from Grandma's recently. We stopped in around 8pm. We didn't notice anything on the way in, other then a person that was completely androgynous (having traits of both a man and a woman) and we were trying to figure out if this person was male or female (one of our "games", much like the ever popular guessing game: "who's high and who's just stupid?"). This person appeared to be following me, so I was particularly amused. We heard several
  18. Yes, but worth every penny. We fought it on our own for a full summer and warm winter before we added up the cost of all the products we'd tried to use in the yard, all the products on the animals, etc....we actually SAVE by going with the Comfortis.
  19. My husband and I just took an early Anniversary trip to the mountains. It was AWESOME. We "backpacked" and camped out. We spent right at $100 for the week, including gas, firewood, and gifts for the kids and Grandma. Check out the Georiga State Parks webstie. Happy Anniversary!
  20. I will go in God's Time and when my Purpose is Served. On a related note: I recently adopted a new theme song. If you know me, you know THIS is me. And it fits the topic, too. (Edited because I copied and pasted but it came out strange so I retped it) "Gone Gone Gone" (Phillip Phillips) When life leaves you high and dry I'll be at your door tonight if you need help, if you need help I'll shut down the city lights, I'll lie, cheat, I'll beg and bribe to make you well, to make you well When enemies are at your door I'll carry you way from war If you need help, if y
  21. Thank you for that....because when the diagnosis comes in, the first thing we do is blame ourselves. What could I have done differently when pregnant or before pregnancy? We beat ourselves up first and some of us don't really get out of that phase. THIS thread drove me to sit down with the Lead for the school system yesterday. It was completely last minute and my first time meeting her. While I am impressed with the progress my son has made, I AM THE REASON HE'S IN GENERAL ED. I am the one who didn't want to label him. I am the one who wanted him to have access to the inclusion prog
  22. The American Dream still exists...you just have to work harder for it and pay more taxes on it. Trust me....I was already "down" when the economy crashed and for a while, I lost a lot of hope. But I refuse to accept a "poverty level income" so I got up and fought for it. With the investment of time as well as blood, sweat, and tears, it can still happen. I promise. You only fail when you quit.
  23. It's was a professional thing. I'm going to be on cloud nine for a long time! Y'all know I'll keep you posted on the man in the woods.....if it happens again.
