  1. Oh no! Not the good ole boy network at work again! Prayers for you and family, surepip. You have exhibited extreme patience. And my immediate response is disgust at the BoC, followed by echoing the reminders of the importance of voting.
  2. Haven't had a landline in six years now. Of course, i will probally get brain cancer from the cell phone, but I'm not missing anything. I like my cable company-internet=provider. I know you're not interested in cable, but as a former customer of the phone company's internet, I am pleased I made the switch
  3. Well said. Thanks for reminding us how precious life is. And the people we share it with.
  4. Back to 1992 so I can invest in dot-coms and sell completely before Y2K
  5. I've had the same gripe at the same store. It's a two-way lane and if the big vehicle is sticking out , it turns that lane into a one-way. I've started parking closer to the gas pumps. But then I have to worry about the speeders and apparently blind drivers as I walk to the store. It's almost as dangerous to WALK through that lot as it is to park in it. Scary when with my small kids, too.
  6. Yes! It's up high, above the chips, in a silver bag to the left of the coffee section if you're standing in front of it.
  7. For the past eight years, I ONLY drink Quick Trip's Original blend (silver bag). When I lived out of state, I ordered it by the case and had it shipped to me. (They didn't have QT in that state) I have tried countless other brands and they leave a bad taste in my mouth, or make me feel slightly nausiated after. I have watched the price go up, up, up as it seems my fellow coffee lovers have discovered my favorite brand because now it's $7.00 for 12 ounces. (When I discovered it, it was only 1.99 for the same bag) Going to brew some now...
  8. Still cheering for ya! And EVERYtime we visit, we pick up trash. We even bring our own bags. It has gotten THAT bad.
  9. When my newest neighbors moved in, I put up with the boom boom noise (middle of the night, or before 6am) for about a week. Then, one EARLY, Saturday morning, the first day to sleep past daybreak in weeks, and 6:30am: Boom. Boom. Boom. (Radio) I got dressed, marched across the street and found an SUV, running, radio blasting, and no one in it. I banged on the front door like the cops and when they answered I simply told them "Between the hours of 9am and 9pm, Jam away. Any OTHER time, I will call the Sheriff's Department." Then I marched home and made coffee. That was the
  10. I couldn't possible compete with your profile pic. I wouldn't want to make your wife jealous by posting my pic. I'm sure that's where you're getting the "sit around, eating bon bons all day". This may be Paulding County, but the days of Peg Bundy-type stay at home moms are long over. Thanks for making me laugh...but I have to go. It's time for Duck Tales. I'll check back later for your clever retort...
  11. I'd find that offensive if I wasn't as hot as I am, Bigsky.
  12. LOL @ Bigsky. My personal regret is that I didn't realize what was happening right in front of me. Why did I stay? My three small kids. Just because I have a crappy husband doesn't mean he's an awful daddy. Besides, I did say for better or for worse...We made it through the worst and we're on to the better. How we're healing is by learning from past mistakes. THAT is maturity. As for the cartoons...maybe this would would be a happier place to live in if people developed a sense of humor
  13. I find it kind of sad that years later, women are still regretting things that didn't happen in their relationship. What's sad is that some of us are not as blessed as you apparently are, but that doesn't mean we can't have a positive attitude and be happy for someone else's good fortune. And maturity has nothing to do with Mickey Mouse. Life would be boring without cartoons. (My favorite is Duck Tales)
  14. LMBO!! Our "head-turning" plants are the Jap maples we've been growing (second year now). When they were smaller with green leaves, we had about 17 of them potted around the front yard. Neighbors were all up in arms!! (only 12 made it through the winter and repotting)
  15. Tow is completely UNTRAINABLE.... My favorite aunt told me recently that it was 29 years before she realized hers was....(they've been married 39 years now) So I guess the lesson is, hang in there?
  16. Well, chick. Can't go back, but can lay down the law. I'm starting to believe he's trainable.
  17. I missed whatever post it was that prompted this, but I've read others and I want to add my two cents. I am an avid reader, actually, I guess you can add writer to that, too. I enjoy reading people's candid opinions, rants, random thoughts, etc. P.com has completely changed my thoughts on the co-inhabitors of the county I live in. I still feel like I'm surrounded by idiots, but I've found signs of intelligent life. The fact that you post on the topics that not only interest you (and entertain us), but you also engage others in intelligent conversation. THAT is exactly the type o
  18. That is adorable! What a sweet, sweet thing to do! One of the few regrets I have is not making my man work harder to get me. I never got a proposal or even a ring. I was 22 and I've never been materialistic. My thinking was "save the money for other things" (we eloped) But now that we've been married 11 years and "life" happened, I wish I had been a little smarter and made him earn it. I will make sure to teach my daughter better, though. On second thought.... I made him earn the right to keep me (he's still trying) So maybe I did learn a lesson or two? At least I know he
  19. Most photography studios work within a 15-30 minute session time. The trick is getting the kids to cooperate, Lord knows mine won't make it past the 15 minute mark! The candids are my favorites, too.
  20. Don't know what it looked like before, but it looks amazing now! You're very pretty!
  21. White Oak is beautiful! Let us know when you hammer out the details.
