  1. Staying home with my family, drinking copious amounts of wine, while watching the Twilight Zone marathon. Passing out shortly thereafter .
  2. I'm staying home and drinking with my husband, daughter, son and Elmo pants . EVERYONE be safe tonight!!!!
  3. She is most certainly mentally ill. Her poor children .
  4. While you are in a book touch the bottom of the screen and pull up that little menu down there with 'Home", "Aa", etc. Click on the 'Aa'. That will bring up another screen that has the typeface, font size, and so on. Down at the bottom of that screen it says "Color Mode", and there are three to choose from. The standard white, then white on black, and the last is the one I use...beige on brown. I love it, so much easier on the eyes . Lol, there is NO way my grandchild is touching my Kindle...he's only 4 but I would strangle him . I'm not sure what glitches those are.
  5. That was one of my MAIN concerns. I love the eInk screen on my Sony Reader. I was afraid that the 'back light' on the kindle would cause some eye strain because I get that from my computer. I was extraordinarily pleased to find that I could change the page and 'ink' color on the Fire. I have found the beige page with the brown ink to be the best for me. You can also increase or decrease the amount of back lighting, so that is helpful. My only complaint is the charging every day, and that is really just a minor inconvenience. I just pop it on the charger first thing in the morning so
  6. I love the smell of leather, so I kept sniffing and reading, sniffing and reading ~lol. My husband kept looking at me like I had lost my mind, I was like "What" ???
  7. So this means you'll be dropping by our store?
  8. I got mine today too! LOVE it...and love the way it smells . What color did you choose?
  9. I just sent mine out a moment ago, and we ran out of cards early last week here at the store...several were to new folks, so that is pretty awesome .
  10. I use the same pre-moistened cleansing cloths I used for my glasses. I knew they wouldn't damage my screen because I have a ZuneHD (same screen) and I use those for it as well. Just make sure you don't have any dust or other particle on the screen before you clean or it will scratch . You can buy boxes of the lens cloths at any store with an optical depart. I buy a HUGE box from Sams, they are the only thing I use on my lenses or screens.
  11. I was thinking about my post and wanted to add... I agree with you on the necessary 'culling'. I grew up on a working farm (one of the only ones in our area at the time). We raised rabbits for food and to sell for pets, along with our other animals, and our vegetable garden. Most of our food came from home. I was taught to properly (and as humanely as possible) slaughter rabbits at an early age. We understood and were very thankful of the sacrifice those gorgeous creatures made so that we could eat. What I don't understand is the 'sport' aspect. I think it is disgusting that someone co
  12. Watch the videos they provide and read the reviews as well. The one I chose just seemed to offer the most protection. I wish they had a red cover, though. I detest 'pink' .
  13. I ordered the 'Marware' leather cover (olive green). I researched them, and watched the videos and it seemed to be the biggest bang for my buck. I've had a Sony Reader (touch screen) for a few years now, so I understand the importance of a protective cover. I'm almost hesitant to use the Fire right now without it . I wanted the safest, most sturdy cover for my investment and that one seemed to fit the bill. My cover should be here by the weekend...so I will let you know for sure after I receive it.
  14. This thread creeps me out. Not a fan of 'blood 'sport' by any means. I agree that the coyotes are doing what comes naturally to them, if they came after my pets (who never step foot outside) I would kill them in a heartbeat. In the above photo, are you just pissed that they killed that beautiful buck before you could? What is the difference? I'm sure mine is the least popular opinion here, but it is what it is.
  15. Clowns Spiders Monkeys Zombies...
  16. I LOVE mine... It's funny you mention the thing about the power button, btw. The Kindle Fire was the only thing on my wish-list, and my daughter got one for me . Last week one of the girls here at the store mentioned the power button thing thingee, and I thought "Oh Crap". Then, when I got it and powered it up I laughed my butt off, for that very reason. I thought, how stupid do you have to be to NOT realize you can just turn the thing around, or even read in 'landscape' mode. *duh* Also, my touch screen is highly sensitive. I don't understand why it would not be sensitive enoug
  17. Predators are relying on her feeling like she is paranoid. They always do. I would rather be labeled paranoid than 'victim' any day. Good for your Mom, and good on you for supporting her.
  18. Screw the snubnose. Buy her a shotgun. That would scare the crap out of me.
  19. Go with your gut. If you felt wrong about it, it is wrong. ALWAYS go with your gut. Better to feel silly later, then to regret not running with your instinct.
  20. WTH? She's NOT overweight... Did it ever occur to you that her larger posterior is genetic? I don't care how big her ass is, I would kill to have her arms.
