We switched to UVerse at the beginning of the month from Comcast and wish we had done it sooner. No more cable going out with the slightest sprinkle or breeze, clear phone calls, had the fastest internet comcast has available and our Uverse still is faster. When my wife returned our boxes she said the line of people was about 10 feet outside of the dooe of people returning and cancelling Comcast and switching. Don't get me started on customer no service.

IDK, I can't tell the difference. Oh well

Did I miss something? Since last week there have been quite a bit of 30+ acre "Land for Sale" signs put up along Cartersville Hwy. Sure its nothing though. Just figured I would ask.

The stores are now selling Arbys curly fries $2.46 a bag. Same price as a large at the restaurant. I'm surprised the Hut across the street is still open.

IMO its pretty sad when a presidential candiate shows to represent us and our current Pres/wannabe ruler sends his wife. Funny, I saw all the other MAJOR countries have their leaders there. Obama must've had a shirts/skins pickup game scheduled somewhere that was more important than supporting his country

"You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hüsker düs, hüsker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?"

Last time I heard there were more unemployed workers with 4 yr degrees than that of 2 yr degrees. Infact I think Bortz and Clark Howard were talking about that not long ago. I would rather have a job with a 2 yr degree than unemployed with a 4 yr degree b/c I can't find a job making 125K a yr. There are MANY 2 yr degree careers that pay anywhere b/n 50-100K per yr. A lot of schools are even starting to turn 4 yr degree majors into 2. Purdue for example is only 2 yrs now to become a mechanical/civil engineer when it use to be 4 b/c they are eliminating obsolete courses due to the changing of

Hmm sounds like my BIL. He just got back working last month, but would spend his days at VA beach and always complain about not having money. Made no sense to me.

Accidently gave a +1. Actually not knowing them (or maybe you do), pretty harsh to say they were behind on the payments. I have a buddy who does repos in Charlotte NC area and he has told me many times before there are shady dealers out there that wrongly repossess. There are a few small crooked ones from what I have been told first hand here in the area known for it even after cars have been paid off -
Had KFC for first time in over a yr tonight. Stopped going after the whole house got sick last time. Decided to give them another try. Still sick from the taste. I use to love that place. Oh well

Are there any in Dallas/Hiram or other nearby areas, other than the BIG dealerships?

Thats exactly where I got my job from. Although I had no CNC experience, a company who makes power steering pumps for racing, hired me on b/c of my mechanical background.

When I was looking, I was told the exact same thing. Also added was to not list all your skills even if pertaining to a job. Just doesn't make sense anymore. I actually have a buddy in Indiana that did an experiment. He submitted 2 resumes at separate times to a position with a company. One resume had all skills, education and stellar work history. Second one had the basics with no college listed and the most basic skills you could imagine. Got called in for an interview twice. The first time with the first resume, they said they were not interested although he had all the skill and kn

That is a VERY good point. When my wife was looking, she was applying to staffing angencies etc. At one point she was told the jobs she was applying to didn't actually exist, but were being used as statistical purposes to see how many apps of the unemployed they were getting.

On Memorial Day, I had a slight fever and body aches. The next day I woke up with all the muscles in my legs so tight(as if I pulled all muscles in my legs) I couldn't even bend my knees or walk. That was pretty scary. That didn't go well with with my new employers, but they got over it. Thank god for the ERs doctor note.

Being a transplant we have NO family or really anyone I would consider a friend around here. We moved to be closer to my daughter who lives with her mom locally. When we go home to Indiana or Pa (wifes side) we are always welcome to stay as long as we want and we are treated like adults and have freedom. Vice Versa for when they come south. We always manage to make time with friends as well.

I don't understand the point of the the Vol. Dept up here on Cartersville Hwy. In 2 yrs of living near it, I have yet to see action from it. Any wreck or fire out this way, all rescue comes from the station by Kroger.
